Description of Work: We had 3 odd shaped windows with cracked glass. Penny Window was only ones who simply would replace the glass (and seal). They got 2 done in about an hour but the 3rd was not cut perfect so remeasured and reordered. 2nd time was also not cut perfect so they took original glass to make the 3rd. It fit. Throughout, they were professional and explained problem. It did take awhile to get the reordered glass each time - about a month from each appt. Did not collect balance due until job was completed. If I need another pane replace, will contact them first.

+ -1 moreThey were very professional, polite and punctual. The first person came in and looked at all our windows and re-adjusted most of them, so they would move freely. Then the second person came later with the parts and fixed the broken window and the lock. He went the extra mile to exchange the blinds in the kitchen and did not charge any extra money for that. Who does that these days? I was totally impressed. I will always hire them for any door and window work!

Description of Work: Tore out old single pane (3 panel) sliding doors & replaced with fiberglass, insulated energy efficient French doors. The doors are beautiful. The workmanship was excellent & there was no high pressure from the estimator/salesman "Chuck". Everything went as smooth as possible. Recommend "Penny Window" to everyone who needs new or replacement windows.

+ 0 moreOverall the person did a good job, but it was kind of messy work. I don't think the worker realized how much of a mess that it made. He swept up after himself, but there was lots of debris and shattered glass on the floor and the glass even got on my couch that was moved away from the window. If I didn't have a cat, I would have left it there until later on since I was really sick that day, so I did a lot of vacuuming and cleaning to make sure my cat didn't step in any of the glass. Otherwise, after searching and calling around with no responses back, Penny Window is the one company that I know that does Window Repair. I did not find them via Angie's List because they are listed under every window company and many companies say that they do window repair, but most of them don't want to do it, especially for old single-paned wooden framed windows in the Soulard/Lafayette area of St Louis. I found Penny Window under the listing of Window Repair through the Yellow Book.
Description of Work: Window repair work. Replaced window pane, one segment of an old wooden framed window. Also, readjusted another wooden framed window that had been painted shut by another company (now out of business). Messy, but got the work done, however they do not paint the window trim, so you either have to do it yourself or hire someone else to do it.

+ -1 moreThey are very professional. You can purchase one window at a time and are not required to purchase all at once. They were efficient in the installation of the window. I just ordered my remaining windows and expect to have them installed in the next 30 days. They install their own windows and do not subcontract it out.
Description of Work: They provided a free estimate for windows. They came prepared with examples and recommendations after measuring the windows. I had option to either install them myself or have them install them. I reviewed all that was covered if they installed. Once purchased, windows were installed professionally, they cleaned up after themselves, and they provided high customer service in showing all the features of the window once installed.

+ -1 moreI WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. YOU MUST ONLY WANT TO REPLACE YOUR OLD WINDOWS TO USE THIS COMPANY BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE. I GAVE THEM A "C" ON OVERALL AS HE DID TRY AND GIVE SOME ADVICE OVER THE PHONE INSTEAD OF JUST REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING.
Description of Work: NO WORK WAS PERFORMED AS MR. FIALA WOULD NOT COME OUT TO LOOK AT OUR HOME TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE WHEN I DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM. WE ARE 90% SURE WE HAVE A WINDOW PROBLEM AS WE HAVE A LEAK IN OUR 1ST FLOOR DINING ROOM CEILING JUST BELOW OUR OFFICE WINDOW AREA, BUT HE STATED WE SHOULD CHECK FOR A CRACK IN THE FRAME BEFORE HE WOULD COME OUT. I STATED WE HAVE CHECKED ALL WE CAN AS A HOMEOWNER LACKING KNOWLEDGE IN WINDOWS. HE INSISTED WE CHECK THIS BEFORE PURSUING A WINDOW COMPANY.

I THINK THEY CHARGE $450 PER WINDOW, INSTALLED. THEY SELL TRACO WINDOWS AND STANLEY DOORS. COMPARED TO OTHER PLACES THEY ARE ABOUT HALF THE PRICE.
