Mantra the Salon & Spa

I walked into Mantra without an appointment on a quest to fix a really tragic haircut that I had gotten the day before. Thankfully, Jen G. was available and took me immediately. She was incredibly helpful, listened intently, and assured me that she could fix the damage. A short time later - voila! - a perfect haircut. All the mistakes were gone and it was like it never happened. I don't know how she did it because I literally had chunks missing on one side. Her technique and skill level are really great. I would recommend this salon and Jen in a heartbeat to anyone. It's conveniently located down on Main Street amongst the quaint shops and restaurants. The space is very clean and beautifully decorated. It doesn't have the sterile and quot;storefrontand quot; vibe that you get at most salons nowadays. Most importantly, they know how to cut hair! I'm looking forward to going back to Mantra.

She has a very different approach from other stylists - she listens to what the client is looking for or what type of style you're working for -- without spending millions of dollars. She listens and clarifies in terms of a style, and then helps you get that style. She's real good at showing me how to maintain it on my own at home.

They have been very good, they do a good job at cutting my hair, they have wine and snacks, they opened a spa down stairs and they have reasonable prices.

Metro the Salon is in downtown St. Charles on Main St. It is a great-looking building; they always seem to be busy and everyone is quite friendly. My only experiences there have been with Donna Harris. I have been getting my hair colored and/or highlighted for years and have had experiences with many different colorists. Donna is quite simply the most talented person I have ever worked with. She is extremely knowledgeable, listens to what I have in mind, and makes suggestions of her own. She is extremely thorough, and the whole process takes longer than I was used to because she takes her time and makes sure the color is exactly as she wants it.
