The initial visit went quite well. The lady working in customer service that day was helpful, professional and polite. After the first visit I never dealt with her agian. I left the TV with them on June 12 to diagnose. They said they would get back to me within a week with the diagnosis. By the 28th I hadn't heard from them so called to check on the progress. They hadn't finished checking it out and said they would try to get to it within the next week. By the 23rd of the next month I hadn't heard from them so I called again to check on the progress. This time they said they had completed the diagnosis and that the TV was shot - that it wouldn't be cost effective to repair it. Their shop was clean and the lady I dealt with initially made me feel that they wanted my business. After that things somewhat fell off the rails. There are few options in this area for TV repair. In a small shop like theirs, the owners/workers usually must wear several hats to afford to stay in business. A little more attention to customer service would have made this a much better experience.

They said they could not, of course, diagnose over the phone, (although it could be the power board which would be around $300) but we could bring it in for a diagnosis which would cost $30. If we chose to have them fix it, the $30 would apply to the repair. They said they were busy, so it would be a week and a half before they could get to it. I began calling back to check on it's progress after 2 1/2 weeks. We took it in Aug. 21, and when I called back on Sept. 17 (almost a month later), they told me it was the power board and that it would cost $354 to repair it. Of course, we would not fix it for that, since new televisions of that size are around the same amount. They were always polite on the phone, but the time they said it could be diagnosed and the actual time, makes me think twice about using them again.

Left TV for 10 days at shop. This was their expected lead time. TV was ready close to promised time. No problems so far with TV.The repair was not cheap and probably should have been a warranty issue with Samsung, but that is another story.

TV went caplooie. We had just gotten married so we didn't have the funds to buy another one. We took it in and asked if it was worth repairing. We were told that if we chose to repair, we would get many more years of use. We went with it. As of now 6/2009 the TV is still doing great, so I feel good that we got good advice.
