"THE HOMEOWNER ASKED US TO FIX DAMAGED SHINGLES. AFTER CHECKING THE ROOF, WE LEARNED THE HOMEOWNER ATTEMPTED TO FIX WIND DAMAGED SHINGLES HIMSELF. THE HOME REPAIR WAS POORLY DONE. WE RE-SHINGLED THE AREA CORRECTLY. THIS FALLS OUTSIDE OF OUR SERVICE WARRANTY, AND WE INVOICED THE HOMEOWNER A NOMINAL AMOUNT FOR THE WORK DONE. THE HOMEOWNER CLAIMED THE SHINGLES DID NOT MATCH. WE CONFIRMED WE USED THE EXACT SAME SHINGLE AND COLOR. ANY DIFFERENCE WAS FROM FADING OF THE ORIGINAL ROOF, AS WELL AS A DIFFERENT LOT NUMBER FOR THE SHINGLE. THE HOMEOWNER HAS REFUSED TO PAY THE INVOICE AND WILL NOT RETURN CALLS FROM OUR COMPANY."
"AS FOR ANY CONCERNS WITH CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION, THERE IS NEVER A GOOD EXCUSE. OUR INDUSTRY WAS STRUGGLING TO KEEP UP WITH THE VOLUME OF WORK CREATED BY THE MANY STORMS IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR. THAT VOLUME MAKES OUR NORMAL RESPONSE TIME FOR ANYTHING SLOWER THAN WE PREFER. AS FOR THE DRIP EDGE, I CAN ONLY SAY HOMEOWNERS DO NOT ALWAYS AGREE WITH OR UNDERSTAND RECOMMENDATIONS OR ASSESSMENTS GIVEN BY CONTRACTORS. AT THE END OF THE DAY, OUR GOAL IS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THE HOME, AND HAVE THE HOMEOWNER HAPPY."
