Very pleased with the final outcome, but the road to get there was very bumpy.

I have had an outstaninding experience every visit to Champion Floor Company. Ann has been wonderful at explaining my different options on removing the film from our hardwood floors. She is so kind and takes the time to offer guidance on how to best clean our floors. She is so professional and kind each and every time I've stopped by. Their team on the phone is also a class act. Wow this company is amazing!! Our project required lacing the flooring in two spaces and the work was incredible. The installer was a true craftsman and a perfectionist. Good job overall. There were 3 different crews throughout the process. They were professional and friendly.
The initial demolition crew that tore up the existing tile flooring created more of a mess than I anticipated. They plastic wrapped the kitchen cabinets, but limited plastic covering was over doorways and openings, thus the dust/mess was heavy in the adjoining rooms.
The next crew that did the sanding (dust free sanding machine was used and I would highly recommend) and finish work sealed off the kitchen doorways and openings very very well. The matching of stain color of the new hardwood flooring to the existing adjoining rooms with hardwood flooring was not as close or accurate as I would hoped for. That might be the only negative feature or outcome.
The last crew that put back the baseboard trim and quarter-round trim was very good. Thanks.

We have different crews that specialize in different skills; this is why you would see a different crew sanding and finishing than installing. To address your stain selection briefly… Please know that it is always our ultimate goal to give our homeowners the stain color that they want. To achieve this, we show colors directly on your floor and have our homeowners sign-off on the final selection. Matching existing stain colors is a process we do on a day-to-day basis. With that said, everyone has a little different eye for colors and matching new wood flooring to older, existing wood flooring can be a bit challenging when it comes to stain colors. Hopefully, even if it isn’t a perfect match, it is still a color that you like. If you have any questions or concerns about the floor, please feel free to contact us anytime. Champion Flooring is a great company. The floors were in terrible shape and now they look brand new. They are so beautiful. The job was done quickly and well. In fact the job was done so well the handyman we hired to do some upgrades in the bathroom is now talking about hiring them to do a job for him. Everyone who has seen them is amazed at how lovely they are.
We had the dustless upgrade and the job really was nearly dustless. We also got the UV treatment, which cures the floors quickly. I recommend Champion Flooring whole heartedly.

John was really fantastic. John took up old layers of kitchen floor that went down to 3 layers. It was excruciating work and he did it ever so quickly and neatly and cleaned up as he went. He advised us of each stage that he was doing, asked questions about what we desired throughout (i.e. do you want your baseboards white or the color of the flooring?) and he left each day with his massive amount of work tools neatly in one corner so we could walk around them. He also swept up as he went along. It was a really messy and very complicated looking job. The appliances were placed where we could get into them very easily for those days. He was apologetic that he could not complete the work in one day (as we had to shut off gas which meant no hot water nor cooking availability) but we knew that it would probably take 2-3 days. So it was fine. He finished up on the 3rd day in the very early morning and it was absolutely fantastic. Perfect.

We have used Champion Floor Company for several projects at our home and our daughter's home. We found them to be professional in all regards. They stand behind their work and the price they quote. There are no hidden surprises when it comes to the bill! I would recommend them to anyone who wants quality work at a competitive price! The employees were all professional and eager to help. They were really patient with us and they worked with us on scheduling and they were very understanding about the situation going on here. We had bedbugs and so, we had the carpet removed from the house and replaced with tile and we had to do the entire house, so it was kind of crazy moving all the furniture from one end of the house to the other and then moving everything to the other end of the house. It was an ordeal and they were patient and understanding about it. They have a really large selection and I didn't have any bad experience with them.

I have used Champion previously, and each time I find their staff to be very attentive. Ralph, Kristen, and Jeff deserve to be called out for their excellent workmanship. The area rugs complement my newly installed wood floors which Champion did this past winter. As a dog owner, I need rugs to be able to stand up to the wear and tear of a large dog and the rugs have been an excellent choice. Jeff has simply done an amazing job installing my bathrom floors and wall tile. It is very apparent that Jeff takes a lot of pride in his craftsmanship. My house simply looks amazing and I would recomend Champion to anyone.

They custom made 3 flush vents for our hardwood floor. It turned out fabulous. Nobody trips anymore, and before that was a reason that we weren't going to buy the house. He came out and did measurements and within a week he came out to do the work. He also installed some thresholds in the floor, and he did that within the same day. We had heard about him through a friend that had gotten their floors done by them and they did custom work for them as well.

The bid was prepared promptly and seemed reasonable, in the medium range of those obtained. Moderately big job was complicated by two "surprises:" ceramic tile underneath old carpeting (abutting the hardwood we knew was there), and water damage to boards in 1/2 of bathroom floor. Champion addressed both with good flexibility. If this review were based solely on the craftsmanship, it would be an "A." The men who did the vinyl installation and the hardwood refinishing were pleasant, professional, very thorough and detail-oriented; they cleaned up well each day, the "dust-free" process for the floor sanding was pretty successful. The "surprises" were dealt with pretty efficiently.
There were some negatives: there were internal communication issues among the numerous people working this job (who was to do what, and when; person B arrived to reinstall molding that had mistakenly been been thrown out by person A the day before - the latter problem WAS corrected swiftly by Champion without hesitation); when one of the surprises arose, the estimator indicated he'd come by the next day to firm up an additional estimate, but did not show. Last but not least, the upstairs toilet that had been removed was apparently not re-seated properly, causing a leak which damaged the ceiling of the powder room below. This required a service call from a plumber who investigated the leak, which entailed tearing a hole in the ceiling to check the pipes and then re-seating the upstairs toilet.
I've now emailed the company twice about this last problem, asking that they cover the related costs.
Although the final invoices were emailed to me within 4 hours of the completion of the flooring work, it's now been 3 1/2 days since my initial communication about the toilet leak problem, and I've not received a response.I will post a follow-up once I receive one.
FOLLOW UP:
I was eventually informed that the company had been changing computer servers, which accounted for the non-response to messages. They have now responded, and agreed to "make it right," covering costs for the ceiling damage mentioned above. Ratings will be accordingly updated. The quality of the work done was very good!

The work they did was good and if I judged them solely on the resulting work, I would use again. Unfortunately, there are other issues that would lead me not to use them and they all center around a lack of organization. Specifically, the individual giving the estimate gave me an estimate of $3,500 and told me that could install quarterround beneath the baseboards. I made it clear while I did not expect that they would be able to exactly match my existing floors with the new flooring, my goal was get it as close as possible and avoid jarring differences. I asked whether the things in the cabinets would have to be removed and he said no. We also decided not to remove the dishwasher. I received the estimate of approximately $3,500. They also told me they would have to bring the wood the week before the installment week. When we were a couple of days into the week and I had not heard, I called the office. I received an email telling me that could still bring that week, she also told me to remove everything in the cabinets and that the dishwasher would have to be pulled. I told her that was not what the estimator had indicated. Finally, they dropped the wood off on my front porch when I was, of course, not home. The installation started and they were prompt each day and cleaned up after themselves. Twice, however, I waited for them to arrive in the morning, left for work, only to be greeted with a message from the workers telling me I needed to return home. Once it was for me to "select the stain for my installed floor". When I arrived back, the "selection" was just to show me what it would look like. I told them that was not okay, because it was jarring and that it needed to be closer to the other rooms. They used the stain anyway, one of the people in charge came over ultimately and they were able to get much closer. I was told that someone else would come to reinstall the threshold, to replace a piece of missing baseboard, to take care of a piece ripped away from the cabinets. When he came that time, however, he could not replace the threshold so we arranged to meet again at 6:00 pm for the final completion. I came home to meet him, he was on time but without the baseboard which he had left at his home. He went to Home Depot to get a baseboard, came back reinstalled the threshold. When I realized that he was no longer downstairs (he did not tell me he was leaving), I saw that he had not stained the base board which I am now trying to match. Finally, despite discussing the quarteround at the first meeting and despite that the installers told me it was in their workpapers, I was charged an additional amount for it. It's a shame because they do good work, but they lack organization that could make the process so much better for the homeowner. By the way, I am now on my second can of stain to try and match the inserted baseboard the rest.

Our sales rep, Joel Wright was very professional and personable. He understood exactly what needed to be done. The actual installation was provided earlier than anticipated because the wood came in early. It was installed by a very professional young man who was on time, very courteous and very neat (wood had to be cut and there was no dust). His work was outstanding and the job was professionally done.
