I have a TORO self propelled mulching mower I bought about 12 years ago. It was time for the winter service and blade was dull. I dropped it off when requested and picked it up a few days after the bench date. Repairs completed as expected. I cut the lawn over the weekend and it operated well. They could do a little bit better explaining the bench date process. However, this is the 5th or 6th year ARCO has serviced the mower and to my satisfaction. In September the pull rope finally gave out and they repaired that. ARCO has also serviced/sharpened my chain saw and when I had a problem (operator error) they sorted it out. ARCO is close by, reliable, and the price is fair. I'm a repeat customer.
Description of Work: Winter service for TORO mulching lawnmower. Blade replacement.

Very poorly. Please see the description of services performed.
Description of Work: My long-standing relationship with Arco is over. This goes back over 25 years and includes the purchase of a lawn mover, string trimmer and backpack blower. Arco has routinely serviced and repaired all my devices and other then being a long wait time to repair, has done a pretty good job. Recently, I took my mower to them with a starting problem. After missing the troubleshooting date by nearly a week, I talked to them. Seems the magneto (coil) was failing and they wanted to replace it. Estimate was about $220. Not being a mechanic, but fairly handy, I asked them how the magneto could impact starting. They said it was possible. I asked them if they checked out all other possible problems. I asked them if they checked out the operation of the choke. They said it was working fine. This didn't sound right to me. I paid the $40 diagnosis fee and took my mower to a small shop I had done business with before. I relayed the story from Arco. The reply was, "the magneto won't affect starting, these problems are almost always the choke." He immediately pulled off the air cleaner cover and the foam filter. He moved the control lever to the choke position and you could clearly see the choke flap wasn't closing completely. "That's your problem," he said. A day later I received a call saying the mower was fixed, the magneto was working fine and my bill was $45. The only conclusion I can draw: A company like Arco doesn't make rookie mistakes like this. They were fleecing me. I wonder how many times in the past I paid them for repairs not needed. Stay away from them.

Member, I am shocked sir at the outcome of your latest service. This is the first that I am hearing of any issue and will be more than happy to make this right with you if given the chance. I would hope sir that after 25 years of working with us you would give me the grace of informing me of issues you may have, and allow me to resolve them for you. There is no excuse for poor service and this is most definitely what you experienced. I did hire a new mechanic and service lead this year and have since made adjustments to my employees. You are not the first customer that has had issues with this and I offer my sincerest apologies that this was not caught sooner so you did not have to go through this headache. Took my Torro in because it was eating gas and was very weak running. They told me it woulf be 8 to 10 days to fix and that's what it took. They re-built the carb and put in a new plug. Great job overall.
Description of Work: They did a great repair. It took them 8 to 10 days to fix my Torro Lawn Mower. They rebuilt the carb. and put in a new plug. It runs great now. Very good job.

Were very impressed by the sales people. Very knowledgeable and informative without being pushy. What was most impressive is they had the confidence to refer my husband (who has to research every available product) to another store. This and the fact that they offer service on our mower for the future is what made us decide to purchase the mower. The delivery person was also very friendly, pulled the mower into the garage, and was on time.
Description of Work: Bought a new Toro zero turn radius riding mower and had delivered to our home.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!! After coming in 3 days after listed bench date, my power washer was not ready to be picked up. Staff informed me that a previous job had run longer than expected and that my washer was going to be serviced that night or first thing next morning. The next day, late in the afternoon, when I returned to pick up the power washer, I was informed once again that it was not ready. What upset me the most was that I was told it would be ready the next day. If you are not sure of the completion time frame, then do not promise something that you can't back up.
Description of Work: Brought in my power washer to be serviced.

We pride ourselves on our customer service so I apologize that the service you experienced was less than our expectation and yours. Even though our “estimated bench dates” are usually fairly close to when we should be looking at your machine, from time to time, we make mistakes. I hope that your issue with the power washer was able to get resolved at another store and would be happy to talk with you about what we may be able to do for you in way of compensation for your poor experience in order to gain your trust and business back.

Oops! I just realized that I never submitted a report for Arco Lawn Service when they serviced my old Snapper riding lawn mower last year. I found Arco through Angie's list, and their prices are about half of what our previous lawn mower repair company charged. I was very happy with their service. The first time they repaired my riding lawn mower, it was right at the busiest season for lawn mower repair-- when people first start mowing their lawns in the spring and realize their mower isn't working, so it took a couple of weeks for my lawn mower to get repaired and returned. They picked up and returned my riding lawn mower from my house. They require a $78 deposit to pick up the mower. It is now a year later, and I just made an appointment for them to pick up and service my riding lawn mower again.
Description of Work: They repaired my ancient Snapper riding lawn mower and sharpened the blades. Something was wrong with the drive mechanism. They picked up and returned my lawn tractor from my house.

Arco Lawn Equipment does excellent work. If you have a service contract with them they will come out and get your equipment. They are honest and reliable. I would recommend their services very highly to others. I can't remember what the service contract is, but it's very reasonable.
Description of Work: They serviced our lawn mowers, snow blower and weed whip.
