My internet service would stop working. I would call the phone number on the statement. After finally talking with a person with an accent that I could not understand very well since I am hearing impaired, they would finally get my internet service working. This would happen frequently, every week to 10 days for the past 3 or 4 months. I finally called another phone number from the ad in the phone book and got a completely different response. By this time the internet service could not be restored so they sent me a new modem (which made no difference in the situation). I finally had my grand daughter come to my house and call for me as they would not accept a call from another phone number, she was on the phone for an hour. This was Wednesday evening and they decided to send a technician to check out everything at my house and it would be Monday before they could come. It was a good thing I was home as they showed up on Friday. The technician did call, but it was another person with an accent I could not understand. The problem is resolved for now as there were adjustments needed outside on the roof. I have repeatedly told them I am hearing impaired and all they do is shout, which does not help.

On June 26th I shopped whitefence.com for competitive isp's as our long time sole provider does not offer acceptable upload speed. White Fence advertised Hughes Net not only to be the new and only available competitor in my area but also having faster speeds and cheaper prices. White Fence charged a $99 installation fee which I learned later there are many opportunities available to have this fee waived that were not availed to me. About a week later an installer, Joe Owens, came to do the equipment installation. Joe was very prompt, friendly & professional. The installation/installer and customer service representatives were the ONLY positive experience with Hughes Net. About a week after services began, the big surprise... Hidden data restrictions only to be lifted by purchasing extra "data tokens". Streaming video from Netflix, YouTube etc was impossible and speeds declined severely once data allowance was exhausted. Customer service DID change my trial period from 30 days to 60 to prevent my service from being thrown into a 2 year contract situation. However, I did ultimately choose to have the service disconnected. Too much hassle. I do not appreciate that an installer will not be sent to UNinstall the equipment and I am left responsible for sending most of it back and they are leaving the "dish" to ME for disposal. Just terrible terrible provider.

Great, had an awesome installer and get pretty good care when we need it.

Service tech was very knowledgeable ion time, and ,professional customer service. (Over the Phone) is so helpful, polite, responsive and courteous.

We had been consecutively been overcharged and we've had a lot issues with their service. They failed to mention that there was a limitation to their service, that you only get a certain amount per month. They cut out our internet to slow it down. The first bill that I got was not what they had told me.

Horribly. The seviceman made sexual advances at me. I told him they were not wanted. On a service call another time they charged an outrageous fee and it was their equipment that went bad. We had a bad storm recently the dish was torn off the roof. I called the company who said it would be 300.00 to come out bc they weren't aware of any storm. Dish network was out here the same day for us. I cancelled hughs service immediatly now I have a bill for 421.00 for their equipment.

Black sheep computing is much cheaper than Hughs net, for the same speed companired to hughs net. I used to use this company for internet.

The WORST internet provider we've ever had. They initially said there would be no installation cost - I asked if there was ANY other costs involved to start this service-- they assured me there would not be ... and of course there was (the man who came to install the dish told us to do this it would cost $250 plus the cost of the cable from the dish to inside the house! -- when I questioned him, he said --"yeah they always forget to tell people about this charge") . They promised fast service...never received this (speed was painfully slow and connections were dropped regularly). The customer service was awful. It sounded as if they read from a manual and had such heavy accents you couldn't understand a thing they said. Issues with the service were NEVER resolved. Issues with billing was resolved only after multiple months and a multitude of calls and e-mails. Unfortunately, we signed a 2 year contract (the contract was just up this year 2011) ....so, we paid a lot of money for absolutely "nothing". Beware of this provider!!

Their service is horrible. They advertise that their service is 50 times faster than dial up but it is not. Any technical support is to India and you can barely understand them. I spent 2 to 3 hours on the phone with them numerous times and they finally said that they cannot do anything to help me. I would not recommend them.
