However, I have had a note on my desk to update Angie's List and wanted to ensure I did so because our experience was so positive. After dealing with a broken a/c for many months and attempting to get it repaired through our home warranty vendors, we checked Angie's List, found Air Unlimited and used them instead. So happy we did. Some tricky issues with a poorly maintained (by the previous home owner) unit were no problem with AU. They were helpful, trustworthy, and thorough. The cranky, old unit has been running fine ever since. Next time, we will call them first!

Because of his presentation, professionalism and price we chose to have him replace our old furnace (we had received a number of competitive bids). The installation was flawless and we could not have been happier.  + -1 moreFor the cooling season, we thought he did a reasonable job. We're maybe looking to hire him again. My wife was here when he did the work. I would've preferred that he would've washed the outside of the air conditioner unit. I was a little disappointed in that. Other than that, everything was done properly. It's performed very well during the cooling season. We are considering getting him back here for the heating season. That shows we have some confidence in what he did.
Description of Work: I used a big deal purchase for Air Unlimited Heating and Cooling. It was the tune-up for the air conditioner. The big deal was $25 but I paid between $50 and $100 total.

 + -1 moreOur A/C unit decided to poop out on us on the hottest day of the summer. From the start, the man I talked to on the phone was very responsive and, based on what I told him, was willing to give me a rough price range over the phone. We scheduled an appointment for later that day. The worker who came out was on time, extremely polite and very professional. He even took off his shoes at my wife's request. He explained what he was doing and why, and was able to quickly identify the problem. And he didn't try to dupe us into paying more or unnecessarily replacing parts on our unit. The company also was running a 50% off house call rate, which was a double bonus for us. From phone call to completion of service, we were very pleased and completely happy and satisfied that we called Air Unlimited. I will call them again and highly recommend them to anyone.

 + -1 moreWe were in quite a situation on the hottest day of the summer thus far. We had been without air conditioning for about a week during quite a hot spell. We had a different contractor due to a home warranty stipulation that assessed our air conditioning unit as irreparable and in need of replacement. We completed the process due to our contract obligation however, the home warrantee company determined this unit will not be covered and wanted us to cover all expenses out of pocket. This freed us to utilize Angie's list to find a service contractor and we found Sal. What a tremendous blessing. Our first impression was how professional and timely Sal's response was to our call for assistance. He asked to see the unit and conducted his own evaluation of the situation. He determined the situation could be repaired and completed the work within such a short timeframe that we were able to cool the house before the severe heat of the day began. Sal had no way of knowing that the stress from heat exposure was affecting my wife who is ill, and I was having to considering placing her somewhere for the night for her safety. He not only allowed her to stay home but saved us thousands of dollars for a replacement unit and housing costs. Service like this provides peace of mind because of the integrity displayed and the respect shown the customer. This is a business we will definitely use over and over again for any heating and cooling service. THANK YOU Sal !!!

They had to add some Freon and then they put us on a list to come back because we have a leak someplace. They were good. They answered our questions completely and checked it out really thoroughly and came back and told us the solution for resolving the issue. It was a pretty good team effort.

 + -1 moreI purchased an Angie's "Big Deal" for an A/C tune-up. It took awhile to hear back from the company. Via emails, we set up an appointment. I took off work early to be home when they arrived. No one ever showed up. I called and had to leave a voice mail message. No one ever contacted me to tell me what happened. I contacted Angie's List and got a credit for the purchase. I'd like to think the company is just overwhelmed with the workload, or had an emergency - but to never contact me with an explanation is not very professional. *** 8/6/13 UPDATE ON REVIEW Sal at Air Unlimited eventually contacted me via phone and left a voice message apologizing for not showing up and not contacting me sooner. I also see he has left a response to my review on Angie's List, as well. To date, I have not received any gift card - but I appreciate that he has responded. Based on that, I have changed my ratings. *** 10/21/13 UPDATE ON REVIEW I did receive the $100 gift card, as stated. Thanks for keeping your word.

 + -1 moreThe appt went great. We had some questions about why our A/C wasn't doing it's job. He answered all of them and told us what problems could be fixed. Put bootie covers on his shoes upon entering door. This is the guy you want to come to your place!! He wasn't in any hurry to get out the door. Very pleased. Told us to turn ceiling fans on to suck up the free cool air from downstairs. He said they really don't use that much power, so just keep them on all the time to circulate the cool air. The best $25.00 I've spent in a long time. This guy is smart and very nice. You'll be pleased you called him.

 + -1 moreI wrote everything about the job above. I had Sal from Air Unlimited evaluate my air cooling system which was a Lennox system installed in 1999 by Wison Mechanical of Smithville. I wasn't impressed with the quality of the installation so I chose another Lennox dealer after reading all the reviews on Angies List. Sal installed a new outside Lennox Heat pump with the professionalism that I am always looking for, he was on time, effecient, neat, timely and fair in price and extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of the heating and cooling system.
Description of Work: I was looking for a company to service my heat pump, we were having some issues last fall with the a/c and this winter with the heating season so as soon as it started to get warm again we knew we were going to have to get someone we could trust out to look at our system and feel confident with who we used. I joined Angies list just so we could look over all the service providers in our area. We bought our house in the fall of 2009 and hadn't had any problems with the system until at the end of October 2012. I have never owned a heat pump and didn't realize that through the winter the system was being pushed just as hard as it is in the summer when the A/C is on full blast. I had a friend from church come look at it and he said I think you need a whole new outside heat pump and he gave me a price and I said I would have a couple other contractors look it over before I spent that much money, since the system was only 13 years old.After reading hundreds of reviews on several contractors I felt confident that Air Unlimited would be a good company for me, so I sent an email straight from Angies list to the company and they responded with in a couple of hours. Sal called me later in the day and we talked; he had explained to me a few things to try while we talked on the phone, I did and then called him back with the results. I hate to say it wasn't sounding good. He said he would be able to come out Saturday after I got off work and look the system over ( they had a coupon for a 40 service call and he would honor that) I met Sal when he came over to the house and we talked in layman terms, he showed me everything and explained what was going on with my system. It was as my friend had stated, and he explained why it happened and what was missing from the original installation of the system that may have prevented my system from going bad. It is an inline air dryer that traps all the debris that can break free over years of cycling through the heat, cold and condensation. He asked me what I would like as far as a system and we discussed all the alternatives, we came to a decision and he wrote me up an estimate right there on the spot, told me to take my time look it over and have some one else come out if I would like another opinion. I could just tell from Sal's character and personality that He was fair, honest, sincere and a man that wanted me to be happy with who ever I chose. I asked him, when could he do it, and he said probably Tuesday, so I signed the contract and he threw in the service call for that day with the installation and another free check up in the spring of 2014 and they give a 3 year labor contract with there installation. Needless to say Tuesday got up to 97 degrees and Sal showed up on time and did a wonderful job. He is just what I would want for all my service needs. He took his time explaining everything and showed me a few things I didn't know about my duct louvers and within three hours after he left We were the happiest family you could imagine. I would recommend Sal and Air Unlimited for anyone who is looking for a hard working, sincere, fair and reasonable company to take care of there family and heating and cooling issues. I wish them the best and will be using them for all my heating and cooling needs.

Description of Work: Sal was amazing. After a string of cold weather, he had to reschedule the $25.00 A/C maintenance Big Deal. We, finally, after a string of good weather were able to get him--and, boy, were we glad. Sal: -Showed up early -ID himself with a business card -Very professional looking and clean-cut -Was easy to talk to and explained things that a layperson can explain -Was very honest about what needed fixing, and was able to fix the maintenance issues on the spot -He even check our furnace for free and installed a filter we had. That was not part of the deal - but he did it anyway!

 + -1 morePurchased the coupon for the a/c tuneup today, called to make an appointment, and Sal showed up within 3 hours. I have two a/c units and both were inspected and tuned up for summer. One unit had a bad capacitor and he explained how he determined that. He then gave me an excellent price on replacing it. He also gave me a detailed list on what he did, make recommendations on air flow for the basement unit, and was very conscientious about not tracking anything on my wood floors. The work was completed for both units in less than an hour. If I could have given Sal an A+ I would have. The coupon is phenomenal, Sal's attitude and professionalism is outstanding. I will be using their service again!

Description of Work: This company was very responsive, even rescheduled my appointment due to no water pressure to clean the AC. Sal checked the AC and explained the problem. Unfortunately the AC needs to be replaced but he gave me a quote and options. He did not try to pressure me to make a commitment and suggested that I compare prices before making a decision.
