I needed to replace builder grade A/C units and had time to carefully obtain 4 quotes (all from A rated Angie's List providers) for 2 new systems. Sal and Daniel at Air Unlimited did the best job on all fronts. They quickly came out to review my current systems, answered lots of questions I had, provided the best price quotes, and did an excellent quality installation job. One quote company suggested that i could have an issue with a common plenum. Sal and Daniel very quickly came by and did a pressure to insure there would not be an issue. None of the others did this. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they responded to my email and phone calls. When we scheduled the install(1 1/2 days), they were here ready to go on time and worked quickly and efficiently. Once finished, they once again tested to insure no problem with the common plenum. We have had the system for a month now and it work wonderfully. I am actually looking forward to seeing how it works this summer. Most of the time these kinds of decisions are during crisis (when a unit has gone out). I felt that Air Unlimited was not trying to take advantage of me (because there are so many options even focusing on one manufacturer - Lennox), but really tried to help me get the best system for my buck. By doing both unit at the same time, there was a good discount, plus a cash discount option, and the best part was the Lennox rebates that I received back. Over I fell that I made the perfect decision on systems and installer. I look forward to working with Sal and Daniel for my A/C maintenance.

They were excellent. They explained how the system works in detail and made great suggestions for improving the system in our home. They were reasonably priced and we would definitely use them again in the future.

I was able to schedule the work within a week of purchase. They showed up on time and had it installed within an hours. They left no mess and instructed me how to use the humidifier. I was very pleased. I will use them again.

Everything went well. I also had them do some additional work for me and all went well for a great price. I would highly recommend this company. Not only do I say this but I have used them on a smaller job and I will use them again.

Our air conditioner went out at 10 am on a Monday. We placed a call to Air Unlimited and they were at our house by 330 pm and by 430 pm they had the cool air flowing. Since our HVAC system was over 12 years old I asked them to bid a new furnace and air conditioner. They provided a fair price and were back out to our house that following Wednesday installing the new system. They completed the job in about 4 hours and did a fantastic job!! I'm always cautious to recommend a vendor but not in this case. I would highly recommend Air Unlimited!! Excellent company all around!!!!

Sal showed up on time, was very professional and pleasant demeanor. One of our a/c units had stopped working. He ended up replacing a part that R Mech installed last year. I can't read his writing so I can't tell you what the part was but R Mech had installed a part that was too big. They used an 80 when our unit should have had a 50. This caused our unit to crash and burn so to speak. Very pleased with the services provided.

Air Unlimited generally has been a good service company per reviews on Angie's List, Google, and BBB of Kansas City. When i initially made contact, Sal was very accommodating, polite, and interested in our service. However, when we purchased the service, the initial portion of installation was done but rain prevented finishing the job. Contacting him for follow-up was quite painful. Had this been a non-AL purchase deal I would not have paid the remaining half of bill minus initial money up front until service was finished. We have now made multiple additional appointments, 2 of which he did not show or call to inform us that he was tied up and unable to attend. After 4-5 phone calls, 2 voicemails, and a call to Angie's List the 3rd appointment was made but cancelled due to rain. On the 4th appointment some 2.5 weeks later, the job is done and I'm just happy that it's over with. I have a good product installed now finally, the road to get here was painful. Overall I'm satisfied. I have been taken advantage of by 2 other contractors in recent 2 years. In comparison this is a minor ordeal and I am pleased with the product. I will continue to use them for servicing for familiarity with their technicians and them with my product. For the money and quality of product offered, there exists almost no comparison for this price. Furthermore, Angie's List itself should deserve mention as well (and to be honest, the majority of my frustration lies with them). Their customer service is horrendous. During my struggles with this issue my subscription expired following purchase of the AC. Despite taking their cut of the money via commission they would not assist with filing a dispute unless I purchased another subscription because "these are the rules, sir" (as the phone liaison said). I can assure you I will not be purchasing a subscription again for horrible customer service like this, and I will be sure to spread the news of AL's customer service and policies to any potential subscribers.

Sal was very professional and helpful in helping us meet our needs and also stay within our budget. Sal and his partner were on time as promised. Total time to install was 6 Hours. In at 10 out at 2:00. I would use Sal in the Future again.

First, let me say that this is not a "friends and family" type of review. Before this experience i had never met Sal, the owner of Air Unlimited. Also, because of my basic nature and personality type (very anal....I am a test engineer for Sprint), I don't make major buying decisions quickly or easily. In fact, I took 9 bids on this project from 9 different A rated Angies list providers. Between the 9 they bid out 5 different types of equipment. In checked at least 6 AC/Furnace consumer web sites (including Consumer Reports), comparing all of the various brands of equipment and reading dozens of reviews by users and by dealers/installers. I also checked out the Better Business Bureau (for companies, not equipment) and for many of the 9 I asked for references......not service references, but complete install references. Also, during that time I had lots of follow up questions for some of these companies. Sal was very good about answering his email and cell phone, or at least calling me back. Some of these other guys did not......or made excuses when they would get back with me 2 or 3 days after i left a message. It took me about 2 weeks to do all of this research and many many hours, but i finally decided to go with Sal and Air Unlimited. Concerning bids and the cost, Sal's bid was very very good. I wasn't looking for low bidder here but wanted to go with a "reasonable" bid and was mostly concerned about the quality of the installation. Pleasantly, Sal came in with an excellent bid which was one of the three lowest, even though he bid the Lenox Elite series. I was very much surprised at the cost difference in the various bids. I received bids as high as $11,000, $10,000.....all the way down to about $5500. I heard all of the silly nonsense from these high bidding companies about why they were worth more, but it was just that...nonsense. My head was swimming with all the BS coming from some of these higher bidding companies and as an IT test engineer.....I wanted to see quantifiable reasons for price differences, but all I heard was company cheerleader silliness. Bottom line is if you use a big company, you are going to pay big prices. They have a lot of overhead to support. Sal is basically just he and one other guy. That makes for a very aggressive bid. Concerning the quality of the job performed.....at this point we are very happy. He and his helper (can't remember his name) they did an excellent job. They removed the old 5 ton AC unit and old Furnace, cleaned the lines out, and installed the new. The AC is working well and keeping the house cool (all be it with a small amount of additional vent noise because of the force that the new blower motor is now pushing air through the vents.) The additional noise is not noticeable if TV or music is on and only a little noticeable if the house is quiet. But, our upstairs is now about the same temperature as the main floor whereas it use to be at least 5 degrees warmer. Now that it has been in about a week we are noticing it less and less. Everyone who has ever had major work like this knows how this works. Often installation problems on AC/Furnace equipment doesn't show up for years but based on everything I have seen to this point and the way the unit seems to be performing, i am very happy with the job Air Unlimited did for us (and the equipment i chose) and would recommend them to others, and use them again myself.

After receiving the quote from this company I called R mech to get a secondary opinion. Air Unlimited stated it needed a new part to repair furnace but R Mech was able to fix it without the part.

Wow! Sal is such a great guy! He and his assistant (I'm sorry I don't remember his name - perhaps Daniel?) were so very pleasant to work with and so professional. This all started with a very late December breakdown of my furnace. I called another provider and was rudely informed that they did not service the brand of furnace I had - they did not wait for me to tell them that I was interested in purchasing a whole new furnace and air conditioner, nor that I was not interested in getting the same brand I had. So I went on to the next name on the Angie's List I had pulled up. It was Air Unlimited Heating and Cooling. From the moment the phone was answered, I knew this was going to be a different experience. First - I was actually listened to and was given the opportunity to explain the problem and what I wanted done. Because we had no heat and it was extremely cold, Sal and helper were here the next day and made a temporary but safe fix to the current furnace to provide heat until a new system could be obtained. This was the week between Christmas and New Years! He spent quite a bit of time explaining the various options of furnaces and air conditioners that were available and suitable for my house. He helped so much with his explanations to help me make the best decisions for what we needed. He also immediately showed me why we were always freezing in the summer and roasting in the winter due to the baffles in the ductwork being improperly set for the seasons (I didn't even know there were baffles in the main ductwork off the furnace that directed the amount of heat - 21 years of suffering and trying to adjust the individual heater vents to make the house temperature appropriate and he had it fixed in less than 1 minute!) He was able to get the system installed by the end of the year and told me about the KCPL and tax break that reduced the price even more. While he was working, I asked for a recommendation for a plumber to replace my hot water heater as it was 21 years old and not big enough for our current needs. He said he could do that and was back in a couple of days to replace the water heater. He had again spent quite a bit of time showing me what was available and suitable for my house and helping me make the best decision for what we needed. I spent quite a bit of time observing them work because what they were doing was fascinating to me - I'm very curious about things I know nothing about. While I tried very hard to stay out of their way and not ask too many questions, I never once felt as if he or his helper minded my curiosity. The work area was left spotless each day and yes, it did take longer than one day for the entire job but that was to be expected. And it was partially due to the weather as well - one cannot easily install an air compressor in freezing rain. Nor can air conditioner be tested when it is freezing outside so he came back in the spring to make sure the air conditioner worked properly - it did. I mentioned to him the fact that the dryer vent was broken (I mentioned it because there was lint in the basement from the dryer being overhead of where the furnace was so he was having to deal with the lint and I was embarrassed.) He asked me for a bit more information and when I explained what I wanted to do to fix the issue (the dryer vent was way too long to be efficient), he offered to replace the broken vent pipe and move it to where I wanted it to vent and discussed the best way to do that. He did not add anything to my bill for doing the dryer vent even tho he had to come back with parts. I was so impressed with the quality of work and the willingness of Sal and his helper to do whatever needed to be done, as well as Sal's willingness to explain all the different options and help me sort through them to purchase exactly what I needed and wanted. I now have a high efficiency furnace and air conditioner and a new larger hot water heater. It will be a year next month since installation and the my utility bills this past year have definitely been lower and the temperature in the house is unbelievably more comfortable. I purchased a bi-yearly check from him and he was out here this fall to make sure the furnace was ready to go and to set the baffles in the ductwork for me. I HIGHLY recommend this company - Sal is an awesome guy who obviously takes great pride in his work - as he should. The quality is excellent. I am an older person and remember when quality mattered and people took pride in their work. It was so wonderful to deal with someone who still does.

Over the phone Air Unlimited gave what I deemed a reasonable estimate for new Lennox furnace and high efficiency air conditioning system. Then, utilizing a Lennox seasonal promotion and a KCP&L program to improve our efficiency to 14.5 SEER, they were able to lower the final cost even more. Air Unlimited did a very professional job of removing the existing furnace and air conditioning system, installation all of the new equipment including anti-vibration pad and a new programmable thermostat. While they were working they put drop clothes down on all affected flooring surfaces and removed or covered their shoes when they entered the house from outdoors so there was no chance of soiling or damage and then cleaned any debris from inside and out before leaving. The complete job took less than a half a day and when they were finished they tested the system to make sure it was operating at the correct efficiency. Over the years I have had 5 HVAC systems installed in existing residences and no provider has done a better job or offered a more reasonable value on name brand equipment. We couldn't be happier with our choice of Air Unlimited and recommend them to all our neighbors.

They were knowledgable about that and were prepared to give me a quote, but then we started talking about what I wanted to accomplish. They freely offered up advice that meant I ended buying and installing a (non-mini-split) solution myself. So they gave advice that meant they did not get the job! But they were very cool about that, saying they'd rather have my business later because I know they are honest, than sell me something I might not really need. And so I WILL call them later the next time something comes up.

Their price and work was good but i do not feel comfortable with their service. They were a small crew.

Good and bad. The provider seemed knowledgeable and fixed the unit. The bad part is that a part had to be changed and that costed some good money.

Owner and assistant inspected condition of filter, blower motor and capacitor, coolant, pressures, amps and voltage, at exterior compressor/ fan. Found a failing contactor. Repair cost was $167.00 in addition to AC tune up.

Sal came out to do a tune up on A/C at our new home. He is very knowledgable of HVAC systems and did a great job. He understood that we were just trying to get the 17 yr old system through the summer. He is supplying us with a quote for a new system. Will use them again for sure.

It went well I guess. They were done in fifteen minutes. It was being done at my daughters house that has been sold. The new owners wanted the furnace to get checked out. I guess they did what we needed. They were there on time and I seen them vacuum out the furnace. That is just about everything that I know what they did.

Had this done before the winter came just to be on the safe side. Provider was on time, did an inspection of the furnace. They found everything was in ordered, did some minor tuning. No repairs where needed.

It went fine, on time, friendly, inspected the furnace, cleaned the burners etc. The 49.00 tune ups are a good deal, as I was used to spending 79.00.
