Never hire this company

This company "cold called" my parents selling their driveway resealing. The dropped their original price of around $3,500 down to $1,800. My parents hired them. The first time they were there they did a TERRIBLE job. When they asked my mom if she wanted them to gather the rocks they were covering up on the driveway and she said yes, the employee literally threw a temper tantrum. He used their garden hose and threw the hose up at their house when he was done and broke the window to their storm door. My mom called Jeremey (a manager/owner???) and told him and also told him there were areas not even covered on the driveway and it was a horrible job. He sent the employees back out and claimed he knew exactly who the employee was that had broken the window and was going to fire him. The 2nd time wasn't any better and this time that same employee (who didn't get fired) broke the window to the door on my parents outbuilding. She called and Jeremy told her they would be out Saturday to figure out how to fix the broken windows in their doors. They never showed. She called again and he said they would actually be out the next Saturday. A month later and they have never showed and Jeremy quit answering my moms calls. Coincidentally, the rubber coating they installed on the driveway is now peeling. It looks TERRIBLE. Toddlers could have done a better job. I emailed their contact from their website and a very nice Jason emailed me right back and said to please call him, leave a message if he didn't answer and this was the first he had heard of this and Jeremey was out for a personal matter. I called, no reply. I emailed again and said I would wait until end of business the next day. NOTHING. They are the worst excuse for customer service and workmanship. Go anywhere else if you can!!!!! My parents are elderly and were taken advantage of and left with damages caused by this company to their personal home. VERY SAD.

They arrived early and started work on leveling the front and back yard with two loads of good MO farm soil. Removed two trenches on the east and west side of the house caused by rushing water. Raked the yard front and back and two side yards to incorporate new soil and make everything smooth and flat and level. Covered bare sweet gum maple roots. Removed all ruts and shallow holes in back yard creating a smooth flat surface the grandkids can play on. Seeded with quality, Kentucky Best grass seed and laid a layer of straw for protection. Cleaned off asphalt driveway cracks filled with weeds and debris. Sealed cracks in old asphalt (2.5 car) driveway. A layer of new asphalt was added for a smooth black clean surface. Cleaned off the curb on the street side of grass and weed debris. Installed drainage system to include 4 French drains using gravel line ditched, used drainage pipe from each corner end of the house which fed water underground and to the street. They also removed 11 Shepherd’s hooks which had hanging flowers and bird feeding stations to move the dirt and level the yard with heavy equipment. The bird feeding stations I could were deep in hard dry soil and the descendants of Roman gods made quick work of sheperds hooks and bird fountains. Now we can put them back once we have grass growing. Yes, we thought their price was higher than previous quotes from others. But we have been waiting a year plus to get this done and no one could get to it till January 2023. They were well recommended and completed the work in 7 hours with a great team of hard-working, very polite, and skilled young men.

After a negotiated price they began the work, It was supposed be 3" out of the machine, I don't think it was 2". This work was accomplished on a Tuesday and on Saturday morning there were dandelions growing up thru the asphalt . They had to stop work 6 times to wait for more asphalt which left bad joint in the driveway. There is a large area were there wasn't enough of something in the mix because it's turning to gravel Numerous cracks throughout the driveway. I contacted "Lyle" probably a bogus name numerous time and said he would come out, but never did. Royal Contracting is not a reputable company and WOULD NOT recommend them to anyone. Vert, Very, poor work and customer service . .

JULY 9th, 2021 The Positives:. Jason, Jeremy and all the guys on the crew were super nice and all. They showed up on time, were really friendly, and they quickly and politely answered all of our questions. My wife and I really LIKED them, personally. They were quick, efficient, and were finished in a little over 3 hours. Driveway looked great. NEGATIVES: Bobcat operator accidentally struck the fascia that runs along side the garage door with the bobcatbucket. This left a piece of wood approximately 5-6 inches long cracked and sticking out. This is about 2 ft. up from the pavement. Somehow, everyone missed this before the crew left. There are three areas of the pavement that are noticeably low. The first, right in of the garage/pavement threshold, right near under the damaged wood piece. It's a very prominent dip of approximately 36" x 6". The next area is a little to the west of that, there is a dip that runs about 4-5 ft. across the driveway. The 3rd spot is the bigger one. It's at the back of the house, by the rear deck, but more towards the N.W. corner where the pavement butts up against the yard. It's an area of approximately 3 ft. by 2 ft. It rained the very next day and the puddling was very evident. These areas will become mini ICE puddles come winter. In the case of the larger spot, it will be BIG ICE problem for us because in addition to it's size, it happens to be right in the spot where I oftentimes park and get in/out of the car. A large timber (which had to be moved for the job) was left in a parking area (cinder blocks) that adjourns the driveway. (It wasn't as heavy as it first appeared, so my wife and I moved this ourselves a few days later.) WHERE IT STANDS AS OF NOW: I called Jason later the same day (Friday, July 9th, 2021), and told him of these issues. He reminded me that they would be starting a couple of very large projects the very next week and he and his crew would be very busy with these projects. He said he didn't have an exact date, BUT he would be sending a couple of guys out sometime to take care of these problems. Weeks went by with no one showing up or calling us, so my wife called them (July 16th, left voicemail)and I called them (July 19th) and left a message. Still no response. I texted Jason on Sunday evening, August 2nd. I asked him if he forgot about us, and I (AGAIN) included a pic of the damaged garage front door. I told him that we were really disappointed that it had been over 3 weeks and no one had come out to fix the issues, or even called or texted us a timetable for when this might happen. I also told him my wife and I really wanted to leave a positive review of their pavement job, but I was not going to lie either. This was his exact response: "Don't expect you to lie we are working our way towards you to get it taken care of." I replied with "Ok thank you. We will do the survey next Monday then.". Well the following Monday was two days ago (August 10) and this is the 12th. Still, I've obviously been trying to put off doing this survey. It's been nearly 5 weeks now since our pavement job by Royal and we still have no definite word on when we will be getting these issues taken care of. OF COURSE this is a fluid situation and is subject to change. IF and WHEN a small crew from Royal came out and fixed these problems, we would definitely have to change our rating. Believe me, we would LOVE to be able to leave a positive review. Like I said before, we really liked these guys and the crew. It would pain me to have to leave it like this, but how long should we expect to wait? We are new to this kind of thing, and perhaps there's more to it than what we see? Is this the "norm" and is typically taken care of up to months later? We just know how easy it can be to slip through the cracks and be forgotten about. This company was super fast and their price was the most cost effective. They scheduled the work to be done within a few days of confirmation of the job. They showed up on time and had plenty of friendly staff with them to get all of the work done quickly. They also went beyond to move existing gravel to other locations on the property. I recommend them and would definitely use them again.

This company did an outstanding job. I couldn’t be happier with the results. My job was a residential job 1 -1/2 hrs away from the company. The price was very reasonable, and they were able to lay approx. 7,000 Sq/Ft of asphalt in one day. I would definitely recommend them.
