I joined Gold's Gym 0n 8/21/14 and paid for $478.00 up front for personal training. They were a week late getting me scheduled and then the trainer I got told me it was her last day, so I would be contacted by another trainer and would have to start over with them. No one called. I talked with two managers and several staff members. At least 6 personal visits to discuss and numerous calls. After 5 weeks they were still unable to fulfill their end of the contract and get me a trainer. They apologized and asked for another chance which I agreed to. Again they were unable to fulfill their end of the agreement. I then asked for a refund. They told me they did not do refunds. I also called the corporate office and they were not helpful either. They offered to give me two months free, 2 $60.00 value to make up for the $478.00 they took for a service they never provided. I am a very dissatisfied customer of Golds Gym and am very unhappy with their corporate office as well.
Description of Work: Joined the Golds Gym on 8/21/14 and paid in full for Personal Training sessions. I was suppose to have 2 a week starting on 8/23. Had on 1/2 session with a trainer who told me it was her last day so I would need to start over with someone else. 6 weeks later, still not trainer.

The guys from Walmart came and helped us get it on to a cart and pushed it up to the front of the store and then helped me load it into the van. My brother and a friend then came over and helped me bring it into the house and into our basement. Low and behold, when we are unloading it, we took the top off the box and the front casing that houses all of the electrical components was busted. We searched online, and found that this is a common problem with their equipment. It was too late to call them at that time. So, I called them on Monday but didn't have the serial number because I was at work. So they asked that I call back when I had more info. I called back this morning to find out what to do to resolve the issue. I was put on hold for 40 minutes. The gentleman then told me that it wasn't their fault, they sent out a working machine. He then said it was my responsibility to take it apart, pay for and order the parts, and then wait 10 days for them to arrive and REPAIR IT MYSELF. This is just terrible customer service. We paid $650.00 for a new piece of equipment and it is not even usable. The representative I spoke with was incredibly rude, talked to me like a dog, and was unwilling to help in any way. I would not recommend purchasing Gold's Gym equipment because they have terrible customer service and do not stand behind their product. Thankfully the store manager of Walmart was incredibly empathetic and helpful and willing to do anything that he can to help.
Description of Work: On Saturday, we went to Walmart and bought the better model of a Gold's Gym treadmill that they have.

We have made repeated efforts in person, in writing and through the Better Business Bureau, and still cannot get them to honor the letter we submitted to them in August 2009. We finally were able to get them to admit (in writing) that they are in receipt of the letter and see where we asked the membership to be cancelled, but now want us to resubmit ANOTHER letter and are only willing to cancel the membership... not refund us over $400 in membership fees they have debited from our account over the last ten months since submitting the original letter.
Description of Work: On August 27, 2009, we submitted (in writing per Gold's Gyms instruction) a cancellation request for a membership we had with them. It is now June 30, 2010... a full TEN MONTHS later and they still have not cancelled our account, nor have the stopped debiting our checking account every month.
