Ladies, do not use Hendrickson Tree Care. They are dishonest, rude, condescending, and will not pay for damage they cause to your house and personal property. When they damaged my house the owner lectured me saying, “you should be grateful the damage wasn’t worse”. It was clear he never had any intention of taking responsibility for damage his crew caused. They broke a tile from our house siding while removing tree limbs from our yard. It was clear from the nature of the marks on surrounding tiles that the motion of the branch was upwards, and I actually heard the loud pop made when the workers ripped off the tile. Also, I had been out before that bang to talk to one of his workmen, right in front of the area where the siding tile was broken. I would have noticed a black gaping hole in the side of my house! Nothing I said mattered to the owner, and what I didn’t have, unfortunately, was a picture of that particular area of the house before his crew got there. I have used several excellent tree services in the KC metro area over the years; there is no reason to use a disreputable one like Hendrickson Tree Care.

"We did not work for this client. Our client was the next door neighbor, which had a very large lateral come down between the two houses. there was maybe 25 feet between the two houses, so not much room. Luckily there was not much damage to either property. Just to give you some idea of the size of lateral that broke, we used a crane to remove the broken limb. The lady that wrote the above review was insisting that we damaged her house. The crew on the job site said they did not damage the house. If we had, we would be happy to have repaired the small amount of damage. This lady also was up set that when we craned out the large limb we set it down in the yard by the street. I would not recommend any contractor working for this lady."

We have used Hendrickson several times over the past year to perform periodic tree maintenance. Hendrickson is not inexpensive but does a nice job. They use lifts to access the branches, and the man-power they put towards the job was relative to the cost of the work. We have also called upon them to come and perform some limited work after a storm, which would be busy times for the company. They were very responsive, and the cost seemed appropriate.

After I called for an estimate I was visited by Charlotte (who no longer works there) to walk around my property and go through what I wanted done. She was very helpful and gave me lots of information and suggestions. Then Joe (the owner) came by and also gave his thoughts, which confirmed much of what we had discussed. He was also very knowledgable and friendly, giving me a good idea of the potential costs of the work with several options.
The workers had to come twice because we were waiting for the power company to do its work, but the crew was professional each time. They asked if I was satisfied multiple times, and hardly left any trace of their work.
I thought the price was fair, and comparable to what I paid in Florida for comparable work on my old property (and they gave me a 10% Angie's List discount) and I would highly recommend Hendrickson Tree Care Company!
The workers had to come twice because we were waiting for the power company to do its work, but the crew was professional each time. They asked if I was satisfied multiple times, and hardly left any trace of their work.

"We were surprised to see an A rating but a NO that [Member Name Removed] and [Member Name Removed] would hire us again. We were especially perplexed because this work was done in 2012. We spoke with [Member Name Removed] this morning to inquire about the work we did in 2012 and he was very positive. He said that Angie's List called him recently to ask about our work and he gave us A ratings. Angie's List then asked him if he would hire us again and he said yes, but he had no current work to be done. [Member Name Removed] was very positive about our work and when I asked if he would call us for future work, his answer was a resounding YES. I think he was a little perplexed about the review also. We are disappointed that Angie's List would put a NO for this question when this is clearly not the case. This type of practice could harm not only our business but other business's also. It may have already caused harm. We hope that Angie's List is more cautious in the future when interviewing and reporting reviews, that they change their methods and are looking forward to their response when we contact them to inquire."

I had used this company in the past, so I called for an estimate on a Friday. Joe Hendrickson was out early the following Monday and gave me a price that was very competitive with another bid I had gotten. We set a tentative work order for the following Monday, pending my checking to make sure the necessary insurance (liability and workmen's comp) was current. Joe was very cooperative about this. His crew of two men arrived right on time the morning of the appointment. The man I spoke with before they began--I believe his name was Christian--was very courteous and answered a few questions. They worked carefully and showed a lot of expertise in the way they approached the dead tree, which was surrounded on either side by other large trees and also was relatively close to the utility lines running to my house. In two or three hours, they were gone. All the debris from the work had been removed and the trunk was taken down to a very neat and smooth ground level stump. Christian had also taken the time to answer my questions about the health and future of the remaining trees.

Hendrickson Tree Care is an excellent company. We had a neighbors Silver Maples hanging over our pool and house which did not have enough clearance. We had just had our roof replaced and was concerned about the damage the trees could cause if they did not have weight removed. In addition, we had a very large Oak Tree in our front yard that had not been maintained since we bought the house. It did not allow any light to come through and we had trouble growing grass.
Hendrickson came out and the reason we went with them is that you could tell they were really knowledgeable about trees and what is best for the health of the tree. The quote was also reasonable when compared to a couple other quotes we received. When they came out they had a huge crew with them. There was probably 7 guys taking care of all our needs. A few of them climbed the trees to trim the necessary areas. After they were done, everything looked so crisp and clean and the best part was you couldn't even tell they had trimmed the trees. A few months later the city had a tree service come by to trim trees and branches were just cut with no consideration to the balancing of the tree or health. I could really tell a difference what great quality Hendrickson Tree Care was when compared to this other company.
I am very happy with them and will use them again in the future!

Brian was excellent, very easy to talk with, incredibly knowledgable. Communication was never an issue. The workers were very polite. My tree was cut down to my specification. My yard was cleaned up afterwards. Highly recommend this company.

They were AWESOME! Their representative came out and reviewed all of the trees and growth on two properties. We discussed our plans and desires, the overall health of the trees and bushes, and gave us recommendations on what we could and should do, including trees that would benefit from growth or needed treatment. They provided a very detailed bid by email and worked with us back and forth a few times to get it the way we wanted it. It was not the lowest bid that we had, but it was by far the most detailed and the most "informed".
Although they were delayed by weather a couple times, when they were able to get us scheduled they called to let us know.
On the days of work, their crew showed up promptly and got straight to work. I've never seen a more professional tree crew, from their gear and equipment to their approach. Their safety procedures when taking down the trees (some of which were large) were great. They put plywood down over traffic areas to preserve the grass. Their cleanup was astounding. In the places where they removed trees, it's like they were never there. We couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Hendrickson's came out within a couple of days to give an estimate. The estimate was the lowest we received. They scheduled the job for just a couple of days later. They arrived on time and got the job done quickly and professionally. I would use them again.

I received a bid and considering it was the lowest I'd gotten went ahead and asked Hendrickson's to do the work. I asked only to have one tree trimmed off the house roof, but they offered, for the same price, to also take down the dead branches they could reach from another front yard tree. The work was performed within hours of my accepting the offer. They also came back to me with recommendations for the third tree and an estimate to carry out that work as well. They were very responsive and the clean up was excellent. The price represents the cost after an Angie's List discount.

This is the second time I've worked with Hendrickson. I find their people to be very prompt and professional. On the day of the job I had three guys working on my three large trees. They were up climbing in the trees, with ropes and stuff. These guys are very agile and very professional. They trimmed my trees back from my roof and the trees look wonderful. I was a little concerned about having my trees worked on when the birds were nesting, but they did the job without disturbing the nests. I hardly even knew they were back there working. They just did a nice, clean job. They are not cheap, but my trees should now be good for 3-5 years. Unlike some tree trimmers I've hired before, these guys don't just roar a chainsaw, hack off a few branches to solve a specific problem, then ask for a check. They know their stuff. My large dog even liked them! I will be hiring them again the next time I need work on my large trees.

Took about 7 weeks to schedule the work. The tree pruning left the trees looking great. This is the second time I used their tree pruning service (last time was 2 years ago). Very professional crew. Left the job site clean. Answered all of my questions. I will use the service again in 2 years.

Supplier responded promptly to my request for a quote. The business owner came to look at the trees and gave his opinion on what was needed and then promptly supplied a quotation. It was easy to make an appointment to have the work done. The supplier turned up on time and took care of the work. The crew were polite, knowledgeable, and tidy - they not only cleaned up the branches they had trimmed, but also leaves and twigs which were still lying around from a previous storm. They left the place neater than they found it. My trees look great!

Hendrickson contacted us mid day and arrived within a reasonable period of time. We had used their services before and they always have an arbhorist on the crew who is knowledgeable about tree species and cutting/trimming techniques. They spent several hours at our property and systematically trimmed all the trees. They often sought my approval or input before removing certain limbs and would explain the rationale for their actions. They really listened to the views of the homeowner, but would respectfully offer their professional opinion if they had a different view. I believe they provide a value add to the tree trimming experience by having a certified arbhorist on site. They cleaned up all of the limbs at the end of the day and we did a final inspection of their work and the job site. We were very pleased with their service and the professionalism of the employees.

They always do a nice job. I talk to the boss about what we need done. He sends the guys out and the job is always done. They are very reasonable. I would not go anywhere else. Even when I leave messages after hours they call me to answer any questions I have. I think they are terrific. They have done some major jobs for us and I have never thought the price was unreasonable.
