Excellent. Arrived on time with some extra help(summer interns) and had 2BR apt moved in less than 2 hours!

Great - the only company we called who could help us within the two week window available. Professional, friendly.

Please use caution when using this moving company. They had been highly recommended to me. They arrived on time and did a nice job with moving my things. However, bedrails fell on the end of a cherry wood sleigh bed. It left a 2 inch gauge so deep the wood was white. I saw it when I was doing the final walk around. I asked one of the movers about it and he said I would need to talk to the supervisor. I could tell he already knew that damage was there. I went to talk to the supervisor and when I returned to the room one of the movers had placed some type of black substance on the damage. When talking to the supervisor I could tell he had already known that it was there and my sense is that they were just not going to say any thing. The fact that they did not say anything and also placed some kind of black substance on the bed without asking me showed a significant lack of integrity. I called the owner the following Monday. He was rude, defensive, and has still not sent anyone out to fix the damage. It has been over two weeks now. You may want to use this moving company if you feel that nothing will go wrong with your move. However, you may want to consider that these are not necessarily people that show integrity when something does go wrong. I am not sure what Mr. McDermott feels I have done to him or his company that would make him feel I deserve to be treated this way. All I did was trust him with my things and pay my bill in full.

The best experience I could have imagined. This was NOT an easy move. My things were stored in a basement WITHOUT access to a walkout. Everything went down the stairs. The crew was courteous, efficient and very careful with my belongings. I can't say enough about the company-from the time I scheduled, to the time the job was completed.

Perfect! Very happy with the friendly and professional service. Will use next time I move.

Excellent.....

The first two times, they did a fine job. Once into a rental house, the second time into a storage unit while we stayed with friends, the last and final time from the storage unit into our new house. Other than the movers arriving 20-30 minutes late each time, they did a good job, until our final move. Halfway through the move, they dropped our upright piano in their truck breaking a leg and damaging other glassware (I have pictures). I was very annoyed and frustrated. The head mover was very apologetic. He kept my wife and I calm and kept reassuring us it would all be fixed. He made a call immediately to the owner and told him what happened. He documented everything on our invoice/receipt and what they would be doing to remedy the situation. I was not concerned at that point because they handled it very professionally. The owner called the next day and assured me he would send someone to fix the broken leg and someone else to make sure the piano was tuned and nothing broken internally. A very talented and nice woodworker arrived a week later and did an excellent job with the piano leg. This all happened in late October, 2016. I have now called the owner and spoken with him three times since then regarding the tuning and internal check of the piano. Each time he responded rudely and defensive saying he doesn't remember agreeing to that and it's ridiculous that I'm asking him to send someone out. Even though I've told him it's what we agreed too and it's in writing on my invoice receipt. I haven't spoken to him since March, 2017 and I've given up. It's very frustrating when you have good experiences with a business in the past (I've even recommended them) and they can lose your trust and business so quickly for providing poor customer support and satisfaction.

Great! Highly recommend. Answered the phone immediately upon calling and able to provide an estimate on cost and time expected; allowed me to confirm possible time/date (1st thing the following AM) with the other homeowner, call back and finalize w/o feeling as though I needed to make a split second decision. Movers moved a 30+yo grand piano (65x57x38) with minor scratches/nicks already/previously there and did a fantastic job. Professional, prompt, friendly, efficient (and that's hard to come by when having hourly workers based on previous experiences with other companies). Three men moved a bench and piano from one home to ours and took great care of both homes-no damage/scratches/etc. at either location. They used heavy drop/moving blankets, ramp, own/professional tools to break down and rebuild the piano. Moved from 1st floor of one home to 1st floor of ours w/ both homes having approx 3-4 front steps in/out of home. Terrance, Kellen, & Mike were our movers and would highly recommend for piano moving; believe w/o a doubt that they would carefully move any piece of furniture/boxes just as delicately. Took pride in their work and although trying to prevent multiple moves/shifts in our room to set the piano, they were willing to move it to exactly where we wanted it (although planned, I'm bad at visualizing best spot so moved from front of room against wall to shifting it farther down same wall to back of 10' room). They cleaned up and were on their way. Fair price (imo) and less than quoted over the phone b/c they were so efficient (less than 3hrs from when they left their site in Indep., MO. to completing the job at our house in southern KC area). Highly recommend and everything was great! Thanks again!

We couldn't be more pleased with this company. Our original moving date had to be changed because our buyer had a death in the family. McDermott adjusted their very tight schedule to accommodate our problem. They showed up right on time with the right equipment and proper people power. They moved our grand piano without a hitch. They were very expedient and worked 100% of the time we were charged for. None of our belongings were damaged. What else can I say. You can't go wrong with these folks and their price is reasonable.

It went well. They showed up on time and the move was completed without a hitch. I particularly liked the fact that the movers were their regular employees not outside labor. Also, their insurance coverage, although not used, was superior to most of their competitors. Very satisfied,.

The team was very professional and polite! They moved things more than once as I determined where I needed things to be placed. They reassembled and leveled our office furniture and put together a new piece (tilt-top art table). We also had them move furniture in other parts of the house as we repurposed some of the rooms. In a little over 3 hours everything was placed and finished.

It was fast and easy. They were professional and friendly. I felt like a valued customer.

Extremely well. McDermott owners were right up front about costs, two guys and a big truck showed up right on time. These two guys (very strong!!) moved everything including a piano very quickly, didn't damage anything, very pleasant and professional to work with. No funny business (upcharges, etc) that I have had with previous movers. In one day they moved furniture from our entire big house to the new place. I think it cost about $900. These two guys did such a terrific job I gave them a big tip ...and I am not generally a big tipper, heh-heh! I would certainly hire McDermott again.

The movers were right on time, work very quickly and carefully, and had our move done in about half the time I thought it would take. When I scheduled the move, Bob McDermott was super helpful and Tom called the evening beforehand and answered any and all questions we had. We would HIGHLY recommend them and would use them again if needed.

It went great, they did a great job for me.

They were wonderful! They said, "You just tell us what to move and we will move it." Very polite and efficient. The 4-man crew moved everything in 3.5 hours and left the place neat and tidy. They were very careful with the items that were fragile, wrapping them and moving them carefully. When we called to set up the job, they were very accommodating and professional. When we need more boxes they set it up so we could drop by at our convenience to pick them up. Thank you for a wonderful experience - can't wait until they come back to move everything back into place once our remodel is finished.

The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. The moving crew was fast and efficient... completing the move in around 4 hours 45 minutes. They were very careful with our items and placed them where we wanted them.

They were all very professional, polite, and respectful of our property! It was a very pleasant experience. While I don't want to need them again soon, I will definitely call them when it's time to move again!

FANTASTIC experience. Everyone was pleasant; they were careful but FAST. Entire house moved in 2.5 hrs. Amazing! Well worth the cost. I hate to move, but these guys made it (overall) a great experience!!!
