See what the provider did for me. The key problem is the increase on pricing after the initial honey moon period that went through the roof. I would recommend for anyone that they do not use the modem or wireless service that is provided with Comcast. Instead I would recommend heading out to a local retailer and purchasing the modem and/or wireless service and self installing it. I am currently being charged $10.00 each month for modem service, which I am currently in the process of getting changed.
Description of Work: Comcast started off pretty good. Installation was fine, as was the first few months of the contract. However, with internet service I was paying under $70.00 a month for the first six months, and after two years with them the price has jumped up to $170.00. I am currently looking at my options for another provider, the key being fast, reliable internet service in the area. If you have alternative internet providers, I would look into those options first before going with Comcast.

I had them previously with a bundle with my cable TV but now I just have their Internet service because I didn't want to change all my e-mail addresses. I'm not happy with their service as it is going out all the time.

I've used them for 3 years, they use the same Cable Scam as All Big companies. They give a teaser rate (low) for 6 months to a year then they jack your rates up. I spent a close to an hour discussing the need to reduce my bill. Which resulted in dropping my phone service and reducing the # of channels we watch by 1/2. I just got my new bill after the changes and they increased it! Outrageous! The Billing add ons and discounts are impossible to navigate and are designed to do one thing only, get as much of your money as possible. They are the only highspeed service available in my are so I'm stuck in a geographic monoploy. My only other choice is to downgrade to DSL......As soon as another highspeed service is available I'm dropping them like a bad transmmision........Stuck with no real choice.

I am not using comcast anymore and do not recommend them to anyone unless you like getting headaches and being on the phone for a long time to speak to a rep.. i am satisfied with dish network and their customer service people are awesome..you are not on hold for a long time with the dish network people if you call.. I am getting way..way...more channels with satellite for less less money.. and the signal with i paid on average of 62 a month just for expanded basic with cable and now with dish network..i pay 55 per month with over 250 channels and it includes music channels..the signal does go bad occasionally with satellite due to rain..but is not as bad as the cable that if the wind picked up a bit the tiling would come up with cable..
Description of Work: i had cable for many years. Every year the price kept going up and up. Later I was informed by comcast that in order to keep getting my expanded basic I had to get a little box for each tv to just to get my regular expanded basic service. I don't have digital box or anything fancy. I had always had the expanded basic which is local channels along other channels.Anyhow. I got fed up when after I got those little boxes installed, 50 % of the time some of the channels were always tiling on me, signal was bad and I called them and they said it was just the bad signal...the rep would shoot a signal to my box everytime..So I ended up cancelling the cable service and went to satellite dish network.. it was the best decision I have ever made!!!.. oh if you disconnnect cable, good luck..they send a tech 1 month later to actually come to your house and disconnect the cable from the outside..so even if you cancelled your service..you will get 1 or 2 more bills saying you are past due!...i had my bill prorated and paid to the date i had cable..so the lady said just ignore those bills,eventually you will stop getting them. I am never going back to cable!

I called them out last night and they made matters worse. My internet is completely out. I have been having issues since May 2008. In October they told me it was the main line and they were supposed to be working on it in December. The supervisors do not return my phone calls. The tech had told me his supervisor would call me this morning at 8 and he never called.
Description of Work: They provide me with digital cable and internet service. Every time it rains my cable goes out, sometimes it will be certain channels.
