The company came out and gave me an initial estimate of 2 to 3 hours of work. On arrival to start the job, the plumber was late since he couldn't buy the correct parts in time. He was dirty as well as his equipment and he had no intention of putting down any type of drop cloth to protect the carpet, so I had to do that portion for him. He also failed to read the directions or even see the big red tag on the water filter that said, "Make sure to pre-soak the tank for at least 48 hours before install", so he wasn't able to finish the install on the first day. He then had the nerve to ask for $250 up front when nothing was really done at that point and then started upping the time estimate. The estimate went from 2 hours to 3 hours to 4 hours to 5 hours and when it was all said and done he wanted 6 and 1/2 hours of payment since he failed to read any directions on the device and had to come back twice. Any he keep promising that he would only charge me for 4 hours due to his incompetence, but when it was all said and done, he wouldn't accept any payment under the 6 and 1/2 hour time on the job or he wouldn't guarantee his work. After inspecting his work it was clear that he was clueless on what the parts of the water filter were, since he thought the very tiny pre-filter was the main water filter and that the huge 5 foot tank was the pre filter. I've never met anybody more ignorant in my life. When pointing out the leaks in the pre-filter, I asked him if he used the silicon grease as instructed in the manual. He told me that he saw no need to since he used his own spit on the o-ring seal. Seriously, human spit in place of silicon grease!!!!!!!! I?m now currently experiencing bacterial contamination in the filter which will cause $1,000 in replacement costs. Who knows if his dirty spit sealant caused the issue, but I can?t image that it helped. And even though all screws, connectors and washer were included with the kit, he only used 3 out of 4 screws to secure the pre-filter and said he didn't want to go back to the store to get the last washer needed. Again, the most ignorant person ever since he failed to look inside the box for the needed parts. In conclusion, the install was incomplete, leaky, more expensive that quoted and he was never on time. And when I asked about him being a certified licensed plumber, he refused to reply and left the premises, so I can only assume he is not. If I had the option again of using this company or choosing death, I would most likely choose death and save myself the aggravation of their stupidity.
