So it got off to a start where there was some miscommunication on when the service was being performed and the method of repair but because of that, I have more of an appreciation of Jim and St. Louis Roofing and Remodeling than I would have otherwise. Most contractors, and I am speaking from experience with working with others, would have washed their hand of the issue saying the work was complete and moved on (especially for the relatively small amount of work I had) but Jim kept in contact with me until the job was complete and I was ok with the work performed which meant he had to come back out fix the same hole that was previously patched where a squirrel had come back. Having a contractor stick with you until you were happy speaks volumes to the character of Jim and the values he holds the business to. I would definitely call Jim for future work knowing first hand how they take care of their customers.

I went out and the water is pooling around the foundation, asked for it to be repaired, and they stated they were to do work.

"I always strive to keep clients informed as to scheduling, as I did for this member that purchased our gutter cleaning special at the end of September. We did the clean out at the end of October. I'd explained to her that we sold quite a few specials and to please be patient and she seemed fine with waiting because of the backlog of clean outs sold, and all of the leaves had yet to fall off of her trees. If she was upset about having to wait, she NEVER communicated that to me."

It was fine. I had more put on there and it was another $50 or so. They fulfilled their part of the contract. I had more guttering that needed to be covered. I had to call a couple of times and they came right at dusk. They said they could do it right there. It took them 30 or 40 minutes to do it. They had their truck and crew ready. They took care of everything I needed.

Got the Angie "certificate." Called and asked them to give me an estimate on additional work. Estimator came out, made some notes. Never got a written estimate. Called and tried to find out what happened. Said they would check. Never heard from them again. Had to move on with my project. So they got my $249.00 and I got nothing.

"I emailed this member several times in order to make sure that she understood that we could not do the repairs to her sagging gutter, rotted gutter board and rotted soffit for the $249 that she paid. I explained that unfortunately there is no way to know how much damage is underneath her gutters until the gutter, gutter board and soffit were removed, so I told her that her project would have to be done on a time & material basis. I never heard back from her after several attempts to contact her via email and by phone, so I figured that she would ask for her money back from A.L., but she didn't apparently? She just decide to give me an "F" rating? I strive to exceed my clients expectations in order to make them happy and get referrals, which are the lifeblood of a contracting business."
