I think their quality of work is very high. They are very efficient, they performed the work in about 5hours. I have always had good experiences and perform the work to my expectations. They are also very friendly and easy to work with. Their prices are reasonable.

They had to remove the slate first then replace it and did a ridge vent instead of the boxes. They were the only company that used a brand I recognized. The job was done in 2 days and they were willing to coordinate with the chimney company. They did a super clean up job.

Team arrived on schedule, worked diligently all day, was respectful of plants around the house and occupants in the house, provided trouble-shooting when necessary, and proceeded with complete clean-up of whole job-site. As always, monitor the salesman/implementation process closely. Very satisfied with whole job from start to finish.

They made repairs to our roof upon our purchase of the house. A leak was discovered (unrelated to their work) shortly after moving in to the house and Mississipi Valley followed up, fixed the problem and were very responsive.

I had a lot of problems with roof leaking in different spots. They put a new roof on our property as soon as possible after all the rain we had. Brent, Hank and Sean that I spoke with were all pleasant and understood the problems I had. They were very quick in putting on a new roof, helping me select the color and again getting things done in a timely manner as to keep my tenants happy. The roof looks great and I am very pleased.

I am a real estate agent and my buyers have hired this company several times to do roof inspections prior to a home purchase. Though regular building inspectors can check the roof, it is important to get a good roofer to come out when the roof is too high or steep to be accessed by a regular ladder/equipment. They always give me a thorough report that you can trust. Recently I had them inspect a roof on a 3 story home. They had installed the roof a few years earlier. I didn't tell them that they had put on the roof because I didn't want them to soft sell any problems. Though most of the time they are critical of work done by other roofers and find numerous problems, they found only a few minor things on the roof that they had installed (and they didn't know that they were the installer until I told them after the inspection). Since they were the installer, they agreed to take care of the things since they had put on the roof.

When the person doing the estimate arrived, his ladder turned out to be too short to perform a proper assessment (!). We received an estimate nonetheless, but felt that the repair analysis was not based on an actual examination of the roof. Subsequently, somebody from the company called asking about our response to the estimate. I explained. They wanted a second chance. I declined.

"MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ROOFING WAS ASKED TO GIVE A FREE ESTIMATE. WE FOUND THAT THE CHIMNEY HAD NO CRICKET AND WATER WAS NOT BEING DIVERTED FROM BEHIND THE CHIMNEY. MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ROOFING GAVE A BID TO INSTALL A NEW CRICKET AND BACKER AT THE CHIMNEY. WE ARE SORRY THE OWNER WAS UNHAPPY WITH OUR BID, BUT SHOULD NOT GIVE US A F RATING BECAUSE HE DID NOT LIKE OUR ESTIMATE. MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ROOFING DID NO WORK FOR THE MEMBER, NOR WHERE WE PAID ANY MONEY FOR OUR RECOMMENDATIONS. MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ROOFING SIMPLY GAVE AN FREE ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS THAT WOULD BENEFIT THE LONGEVITY OF A LEAK FREE ROOF."

The roof MVR put on leaked immediately with damage to our bedroom wall.We called MVR who "repaired" the leak and we had the wall fixed. It leaked again.We called MVR and were told it was the chimney tuckpointing.Called a tuckpointer who told us it was the roof flashing.Called MVR with this info but they insisted it was the tuckpointing.Got the roof tuckpointed.Still leaked.Called MVR who blamed it on not waterproofing the tuckpointing.Called the tuckpointer who got in our attic and proved it was the flashing. Called MVR and they said it was"condensation".Told them we were repairing our wall and they said they'd pay.Roof leaked.They didn't pay.Got a lawyer.MVR agreed to pay independent roofer to look at roof. Independent roofer found leak and fixed leak.MVR refused to pay for damages or other roofer.Finally, MVR "agreed" on settlement of $2,500.MVR NEVER PAID.I took them to small claims court.I won $2,500 for damages to my house. THIS ALL TOOK FOUR YEARS!!! CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!!!!

The issue I have is when they gave me the estimate they said they would fix the roof, and they did, also to inspect the roof and make repairs as they were needed, but I feel they did not spend enough time on this. They said it would take 2 men one full day, however they delivered 2 men for only 3 hours for the inspection and repair of the roof. The owner was a bit hostile towards us as well. I wish I would have gotten more estimates before making my decision to work with this company. I have a unique roof and the owner acted as if his company was the only company in the area that would be able to work on it and I found this not to be true after the fact.

"MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ROOFING COMPLETED ALL OF THE WORK SPECIFIED IN OUR ESTIMATE THAT WAS SUBMITTED TO THE CUSTOMER, WE EVEN WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND AND TOOK CARE OF ADDITIONAL REPAIR ISSUES ON THE CUSTOMERS ROOF WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGES. IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS TILE ROOF AND OUR CHARGES WERE MORE THAN REASONABLE. TO SATISFY THE CUSTOMER WE HAD TO TAKE AN ADDITIONAL $250.00 OFF HER BILL, SHE PAID APPROXIMATELY $1200.00 FOR THE REPAIR."

The bid was way too high. When I called them, he did come right out and said the estimate would be ready in a couple days. It took a little over a week to get it and I would have preferred for them to be honest about not wanting to do the job instead of raising the price so high that they knew I would not use them. The man that came was very cordial and polite, but I would not use them again due to the high price and the fact that they were not too honest with me.

(WE DO NOT INSTALL METAL ROOFS.) IT IS A BEAUTIFUL NEIGHBORHOOD AND A LOT OF THE ROOFS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ROOFING GAVE WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS A VERY FAIR PRICE TO TEAR OFF HIS ROOF. (THE MOST TIME CONSUMING PART OF A JOB) THE PRICE WAS APPROX. $63.00 PER SQUARE AND THE ROOF WAS APPROX. 3100 SQ. FT WITH 1ST AND 2ND STORY ROOFS. WE WERE TAKING THE RISKS OF DAMAGING THE SKYLIGHTS, SIDING AND SHRUBS, ETC. AND HAULING AWAY ALL OF THE ROOFING DEBRIS. THE INSURANCE AND DISPOSAL COSTS TO US ALONE MAKES THIS A VERY FAIR PRICE. WE ARE SORRY HE SAW IT DIFFERENTLY."

Three days later, I called and no one had been out to the house yet. Three days after that, I called and was told that someone had been out to the house, but the report wouldn't be done until the next morning. The next morning arrived, still nothing. One day later, I recieved an estimate for a new roof. I called to ask about the roof certification I'd ordered and was told that the roof was shot and Mississippi felt bad about charging me for a certification since it took so long to get back to me. I explained that I needed the certification for my counter offer and was told that Mississippi would have to send ANOTHER person out to look at the roof because the first set of pictures were "bad." AND, they would have to charge me the $150.00. Well, I was out of time, per the contract I had pending on the house, I had exactly one day to finish inspections. Luckily, I was able to get someone else to look at the roof that day, the roof was fine, it has 8-10 years of life left.

Mississippi Valley Roofing replaced our whole roof about 11 or 12 years ago, including two smaller roofs over first floor rooms. Recently we've noticed a leak in the kitchen ceiling, and another contractor mentioned that portion of the roof was "soft" underfoot. The roofing company sent someone out to examine the roof and then sent two people to remove the shingles and repair the leak. They weren't very professional, didn't have the correct shingles, and generally did a poor job. When they went to lunch, my husband took pictures of the work they had done so far. The next rainfall the ceiling leaked into the kitchen again! We sent them the pictures, and they agreed the job had been done improperly and repaired it correctly. The supervisor or owner monitored the repairmen and made sure the job was done correctly.

I called for an estimate and they came the next day. The bid was received in the mail 2 days later. I accepted and mailed the bid to them and was contacted the day the bid was received. An appointment was set up and they arrived as promised. Work was done in a timely fashion and they were very professional. They cleaned up all debris. Very happy with the work that was done and have already recommended them to several co-workers, who also contracted them.
