About us

Norse Construction, LLC is a unique small business. Over my 30 plus years of construction I've had numerous customers tell me of contractors who don't show up, don't clean up after themselves, build what THEY want and NOT what the homeower wants. Its simple. I started Norse simply because you should have what YOU want and when you want it - period.

The experience was one that was not only great overall, but up front and honest. After using roughly 6 different companies to get our home remodeled, it feels great to know we've finally found a company that cares about our home as much as we do!

This last effort went beyond my expectations. The work was done faster that I expected, and the workmanship was A+. I was concerned with the difficulty of leveling out concrete columns during the pour. At several thousand lbs per column, it would be impossible to correct any out of plumb conditions. He was careful to plum and secure each column before pouring, then checked for plumb after the poor. All were perfect.  I will be doing additional work in the near future to replace the beams on the upper deck in order to repair poor workmanship from a contractor 10 years ago.

This is the 4th large project Norse has done for me. The largest project was building out a laundry room on the lower level. That effort involved tearing down walls, building new walls, installing doors, flooring and installing new plumbing for the washer, dryer and new sink. The new laundry room measures 9 X 12, great lighting and a long folding table. My wife and I are happy campers. I was also impressed that he cleaned up each evening before he left to minimize dust and debris from the work area.

Response from Norse Construction, LLC
"Forgive me, sir. I thought I mentioned that I do have accounts with two suppliers but that my pricing would probably not be that much better than Lowes or Home Depot. In all honesty, that is true of most contractors unless they are installing 50 to 60 kitchens a year. The estimate I provided listed only an allowance for the cabinets in combination with my installation cost. That way, as a convenience, you had information at your fingertips to competitively shop the cabinets anyplace you wished, whether from my supplier or on line or somebody else. I am also a bit confused as there was no contracted price of $8000 nor was any drywall done nor kitchen remodel work done. The only service was to provide an estimate under the "Drawings in Hand" Big Deal program offered by Angie's List. To my knowledge, an estimate complete with drawings was provided. I was at your house at 4 pm and by 9 pm that evening you had your estimate. A week and a half later you sent an email stating you were going with your insurance company's contractor. Agian, I do apologize for any confusion with regards to the cabinet supplier. I did not go into any detail simply because at the time of an estimate, its a bit premature. Either way, I do hope your kitchen project is going well with whatever contractor you chose. Thank you."

Bruce came over and discussed our full project with us.  From the moment he walked in the door, we felt comfortable having him in our home.  He was on time and prepared to take pictures and notes.  We planned to do as much as possible ourselves but wanted his input on the full project.  We ended up deciding for him to do the insulation, drywall, taping, and mudding.  With his input, we were able to successfully have the rooms gutted and prepped for him when he came in.  He helped coach us on tips for many different things and rules that we needed to follow.
When we got to the point where we were ready for him and his crew to come in, it was within the week that he was here.  Every day they were on time or early to start, he provided an update, and made sure we were happy with there work.  Any questions we had along the way, they were all very helpful with.
Bruce truly loves what he does and enjoys helping others.  It was such a joy to work with him and we will definitely reach out to him when we decide to tackle another project.
Thanks so much for your help Bruce!!!

The home we purchased just over 2 months ago had an unfinished basement that we saw great potential in.  The master bathroom also had a leak behind the wall.  Bruce came in and talked to us in great length about what exactly we were looking for.  We talked about what parts of the project we could do ourselves to save money and what we thought a professional should do, and he worked with our timeline of when we were able to get things done.  The leak was repaired in the bathroom, as well as we had a new vanity and toilet installed and painting done.  The basement was the big job!  We had lighting installed, framing and drywall done, new windows installed, new carpet, and a new hot water heater along the way (that one was a surprise).  Bruce even helped us install new appliances when they arrived for our kitchen.  No matter what came up Bruce and his crew were there to help!  The project is finished and we are enjoying that wonderful space we saw potential in.  It also makes us feel proud that we were able to put hard work into some of it ourselves.  We will definitely call Bruce in the future for any projects, great or small!

Bruce did a great job!  He had excellent communication skills and showed up when promised.  He had to do some extra framing to size my 100 year old doors down to standard door size, and the work is just beautiful.  He paid close attention to the rest of the doors in the house and was able to duplicate the look.  Once we do the finishing work (not part of the contract, I generally do my own painting), it will look absolutely original.  It's obvious that Bruce takes a great deal of pride in his work and I look forward to working with him again.

I felt Bruce was very attentive, detailed and proactive.  He communicated every step, he was patient with my questions and consistent and professional. The worker (Jason I think) was also very good at what he did.  He was respectful of my time and my home. The work was exemplary. I am so happy with the finished project, smooth, clean, paint matched, very finished looking.   I simply couldn't have asked for more.

I LOVED working with Bruce.  It's a standing joke around my house that I'm so picky I always hate the contractor by the end of the job, but I'm super happy with the job that Bruce did!!!
I picked him from the various bids we had because his bid was extremely detailed.  He had included everything from what he was going to to protect my house to how he was going to dispose of the debris.  I really had a warm and fuzzy that not only did he know what he was doing, but that there were going to be no surprises during the job.  His communication was excellent -- he's the only contractor that I've worked with that always emailed / showed up exactly when he said he would!
The quality of work was top-notch, meeting my "picky" standards with no problems.  When the electrical work that we were going to do ourselves proved beyond our skills he arranged for an electrician to come do the work and even met with them the morning of just to make sure they knew exactly what we needed.   He also re-arranged his schedule to accommodate that and still get the job done by my requested end date.
I would highly recommend Bruce and look forward to working with him on future projects.

I hired Norse Construction after a previous contractor quit the contract unexpectedly with less than a quarter of the job done.   At the time,  I was in a bind,  I basically had a giant hole in my floor :( and I interviewed almost a dozen contractors before I found Norse Construction.  Bruce (contractor at norse construction) was knowledgeable  and professional and (most importantly) able to finish the project at short notice and at a reasonable price.
The new stairs, doors and bathroom look great and I'm happy I hired Norse construction!
One other thing, My work schedule would frequently prevent me from being present during the construction phases, but the contractor sent me text message photos of the job as parts were completed,  a very nice touch !
