The hardwood flooring was under carpet for many years and had a bunch of stains from carpet cleaning. The crew showed up on time and completed the work over 4 days. I did all of the prep work like removing old carpet (they would have removed the carpet and staples for $400), staples, and doors. We opted for the 'less-dust' system, since I wanted to limit how much dust made into my HVAC system, which I feel was definitely worth the money. Very little dust was produced during sanding using this system. I'm very satisfied with the end results. The floors look great!

Blake flooring offered the lowest prices I could find. Their estimate was accurate, and the work was done wonderfully. They came out early in the morning and sanded down a section of the floor to show me stain color options. The workers spent quite a bit of time helping me decide. First, they repaired several large gaps in the wood where walls were removed. Rather than making a small patch, large areas around the gaps were taken up and new boards were added to make the patches blend. Unless you knew that the floor had been repaired, the patches are almost invisible. The work was done in two or three days, and the workers were very good about cleaning up. I paid a bit extra for the low-dust system, and it was well worth it. I would recommend Blake Flooring to anyone looking to have floors refinished or repaired.

I asked four people who I should use they all said the same people. They've been in business for a really long time and they do a great job. They're efficient and the office staff is nice to work with. I really like them and we'll definitely use them again.

Blake was referred to my by my realtor. I had purchased a new home and wanted my carpeting pulled up and floors refinished before moving in. Blake went out of their way to schedule my appt to accomodate my needs. The work was very good; I always get great comments from vistors on my shiny new floors!

The job went quickly and was pretty well done in only a week. We chose them from 6 different contractors that we had spoken to. They were not the least expensive but they explained their process clearly, came out to inspect the material & look at the layout. They were the most reasonable as far as price and detail of the work.

I heard about them from my friend. The price was excellent. They did what they were doing. They were very professional and very fast. There was carpeting first on the floor. So, they ripped off the whole floor to take it off. Later, they sanded it all down with a liquid sander, so there wasn t stuff all over the place. And they filled their estimates. The competency and professionalism of people who helped me were excellent.

Very happy with the quality of work. The price was reasonable and they accomplished everything they were asked to do. My only comment was that the installers/finishers were a bit rough around the edges. Some of the employees could use some lessons in presentation and polish.

The actual work was performed while we were out of town, but the crew did a great job and the floors look fantastic. We were very pleased to see how they were able to match the wood in the front foyer to the rest of the narrow width floor boards by using wood recycled from a previous job. They also did a great job patching all radiator holes and the 3 x 4 section in a guest bedroom. We're very pleased and plan to recommend Blake Flooring to friends and family.

WONDERFUL! After Cindy Blake read about our little girl and the obstacles she has, they provided our floors at no charge. The floors look beautiful, they made sure everything was perfect and they even followed up to make sure we were happy. Our little girl is one of two with a specific genetic condition that has left her unable to walk or talk. We have many obstacles to overcome in the future and lots of medical expenses. Blake Flooring made one of her obstacles easier to overcome by providing a floor that her wheelchair will be able to roll over. We can never be more grateful to them.

We got three estimates from three AL "A rated" companies (all came quickly). Blake had the best estimate by a significant margin. We contracted and booked installation, etc., a week out (given 4th of July holiday the work was done over two weeks). The old stain was very dark and we were not sure how light to go, they were very patient with my wife putting samples down, mixing stain, etc., to get exactly what we wanted. Installation of floors was great... nice "match up" along seams with existing hardwoods. We did this with an empty house (just moved to town and decided to keep our stuff in storage knowing how dusty this type of project is...) We had no issues until the quarter round was put on the baseboards, etc., and found two oversights... before we could report it, Mr. Blake came by for a final inspection, spotted the problems himself (and a few other things we missed), and sent two folks over the next day to make everything right. Very impressive. Two "insights" beyond the obvious observation that it is dusty and best to do this with an empty house... 1) The contract says clearly that they don't put the doors back on hinges... it is fine if you are healthy [we are], etc., but if customer is older, frailer, etc., this could be an issue. Need to anticipate this... perhaps they make an exception if the customer would have difficulty. 2) The house was empty which may have made the workers feel as if smoking in the house was OK. When they started, I asked them to stop and they did, but if you are out of the house during the day you may want to make this point at the start.

I was quite pleased with the work that Blake Flooring performed. They were on time for the initial estimate and provided me with helpful information about various things regarding floor refinishing. Their's was also the most reasonable price for the job of the other companies that I had researched. Once I contracted them to do the work, they were very efficient. I didn't even see them at the times that I stopped by the house to check in on how things were going, only came back to a bright shining floor. There might have been a little miscommunication about what I would have liked to do with the hallway, but all in all, I am glad that I had Blake Flooring do the work on my floors in my "new" home.

Blake Floor is great to work with. They did the estimate within a few days of my call with the best estimate of three bids (its been ten years since I last used Blake so wanted something to compare). We set up a start date and asked for an earlier date if possible. They moved up by a week a few days later. This was a big job and was estimated to take a week. They started during the week and even worked on the weekend to get things complete. The guys that did the work were great calling me on my cell about certain issues such as the stairs and making sure that I chose the right color. They were very patient with color selection and showing me samples on my floors which would look good in big rooms. The final color and overall job was fantastic. We did have a couple of issues which were followed up quickly by the office staff, Emil Blake and Michael Blake. The followup took quite a while because of my travel schedule but both Emil and Michael were persistent in fixing any flaws

Blake flooring had handled all the refinishing needs for my rental properties for almost twenty years. Their work product had always proven top notch. Based on our last two experiences I feel they have grown too large to supply strong customer support and provide a consistent work product. With our last experience floors were installed gapped and uneven, interior doors were left outside over a weekend, the front door was left wide open after they left and the lawn was littered with numerous cigarette butts. To their credit they did respond. We were looking for resolution of the issues but they took our frustration as complaining and responded by offering credits. We wanted the job done correctly. Not credits. Unfortunately with hardwood you only get one chance to get it done right. We assumed this was an issue with that crew (they have numerous) and wanted to try again. We were told they will not do business with us. They cannot accept criticism. Very disappointed.

Blake did exactly what they said they would do and it cost exactly what they said it would cost. Estimator arrived to take measurements and digital photos of area to be refinished. I called the office several times to ask questions about the bid and the procedure; questions were answered patiently. Work was done when scheduled and completed in a timely fashion.

The estimate that they gave me was exactly what the final cost came to. They did arrive on time to my home. For $200 more they used a dustless system that left no dust whatsoever. The problem that I had with them was the fact that when they applied the polyurethane, the floor wasn't cleaned. It looks fine from a distance, but when you get closer you can see hairs and there are also bubbles visible. They did come back and tried to make it better, but I was still not pleased with the final result.

My floors are gorgeous! I loved their work so much that I had them refinish the floors in my next house. They are a customer orientated company. The bid is exactly what the final charge is. I have only good things to say about Blake Floor Co. They came on the agreed upon time and got right to work. Everything went well. He was very accommodating to our schedules and was also very neat and careful of our belongings.

We began this project by asking for referrals from four people we knew who had had hardwood flooring work done. It turned out that all four of them had used Blake Floor. We requested an estimate and the representative was on time as were all phases of the project. The person dropping off the new material, the installers, the inspector and the person picking up the old flooring were all very professional and knew what they were doing. My impression of the company is that they are like a well oiled machine, able to do large and small projects. We intend to have them put hardware floors in the family room in the near future.

"IT REALLY IS A SHAME THAT THIS CUSTOMER SAYS THAT WE ARE NOT A SERVICE COMPANY. WE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT ANY NORMAL COMPANY WOULD DO FOR A CLIENT BY GIVING THEM THE OWNER'S PERSONAL CELL PHONE NUMBER SO THEY COULD CALL HIM AT ANYTIME DAY OR NIGHT WITH QUESTIONS. IF THAT ISN'T SERVICE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. THEY CALLED THE OWNER AND THE OFFICE MANY TIMES AND THE OWNER CALLED THEM BACK EACH TIME. THEY LEFT MESSAGES ON HIS CELL PHONE NUMEROUS TIMES EACH DAY AND HE CALLED THEM BACK. THERE WERE NOT PROBLEMS WITH THIS JOB, THE CUSTOMER JUST HAD LOTS OF QUESTIONS. THIS JOB TOOK 5 CONTINUOUS DAYS, ONE DAY LONGER THEN NORMAL, DUE TO A DARK STAIN THAT THE CUSTOMER CHOSE (CONTRACT STATES THAT JOB WILL TAKE LONGER IF A DARK STAIN IS CHOSEN). WE DID NOT EVEN CHARGE THEM MORE FOR THE DARK STAIN (EVEN THOUGH THE CONTRACT STATES IT WOULD COST EXTRA IF THEY CHOSE A DARK STAIN). WE ALSO COATED THEIR JOB ON A SATURDAY, PAYING OUR EMPLOYEES OVERTIME, BUT NOT CHARGING THE CUSTOMER A DIME EXTRA. SATURDAY'S ARE NOT A PART OF THE ORIGINAL WORK WEEK. THEY RECEIVED AN EXCELLENT PRICE WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE AND THEY PAID. AFTER THE JOB WHEN A MINOR TOUCH UP WAS COMPLETED. THE CUSTOMER WAS HAPPY WITH THE JOB AND INFORMED THE OWNER AS WELL WHEN HE PERSONALLY CAME BY THE JOB TO CHECK IT OUT AND PICK UP THE CHECK. IT IS A SHAME THAT A GOOD BUSINESS REPUTATION CAN BE RUINED BY ONE CUSTOMER THAT FOR SOME REASON NOW ISN'T HAPPY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE WE COULD OF DONE TO MAKE HER HAPPY."
