Jeff and team did a great job. He was very reliable and reasonably priced. The quality of the work was outstanding. I will definately recommend and use him again.

Very impressed with Jeff and his company. We initially asked for an estimate for some basic landscaping for our home and he made it out within a couple days to discuss what we wanted. I'm not terribly great at describing what I picture in my mind, but he helped talk me through it. He also pointed out things we hadn't thought of, such as managing drainage. We were comfortable with what we had discussed and the price. He let me know upfront that they were booked a number of weeks out, so expectations were set. I felt good about them, so I decided it was worth waiting to have them do the work. They ended up making it out to perform the work within the timeframe he had estimated. Work was done in just over half a day. I wasn't sure how close it would come to what I wanted, based on the fact that I'm not good at describing things visually. However, it had all the elements I wanted and turned out to be even better than I had imagined. I was very impressed that he could take my description and turn it into the finished product we saw. Would definitely use again if we have future stonework or landscaping needs.

After reading many reviews on Angie's list, I selected this company.  I sent an email and Jeff Watkins contacted me right away.  We agreed on a time for him to come to the house; he came as scheduled, I showed him what I wanted done.  He said he would send a quote over the weekend.
When I got the quote, it was very reasonable, and I sent back an email saying we wanted him to do the work, but we were in absolutely no hurry.  A couple of weeks ago, he contacted me and told me what day he would be here.  He asked permission to begin quite early in the morning because of the heat, and we certainly understood and agreed with that!
He showed up right on time with his crew.  They were finished in just a few hours.  He even dug up a large bush for me that I had failed to mention to him earlier, and he did not charge for it.
The retaining wall is perfect, just what we wanted.  The side of the house where he put the river rock looks so neat and clean.  The tree came down before I knew it was gone, and all trace of it was removed.
Jeff patiently explained to me how to care for my little rose bush since I am not a plant person.
We couldn't be happier with the work and with Jeff and his crew.  Very professional, friendly, and reasonable.  You won't regret hiring this company.

I contacted Jeff and he met me at my house within a couple of days.  We discussed what I was looking for and he said he would send a quote by the weekend, which he did.  We emailed back and forth for a bit answering my questions.  His wait time was about six weeks which was fine with me.  When the time came close to start, Jeff and I started communicating via phone.  It took them four days to complete and that was during our extremely hot weather.  I met with Jeff the first morning before they started and saw them every day before leaving for work except the last day.  We communicated regularly through the week.    They were great to work with and I would not hesitate to work with them again. The work was excellent, their attitude was wonderful, and they cleaned up after themselves.  My backyard was transformed by the work they completed.

We had already power washed our deck but needed someone else to do the staining.  Jeff gave us a reasonable bid.  (It did not include the stain, which we purchased online.)  Jeff and his crew shows up at 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled day.  They moved all the deck furniture and grill into the yard before beginning.  They were very nice, hard-working, and thorough.  They were not sloppy with the stain (few runs and no damage under the deck).

Went smooth and painless.  Came in gave my wife and I great ideas and then made it happen.

They were excellent.  It has been several years since the work  was done but it still looks excellent. The outcome was exactly what we hoped for.

Jeff kept me posted on where I was in his schedule and called ahead to let me know he was ready to start. He was here on time and he did a fantastic job. Even came back and made an adjustment when I asked him to add another step to the project.  He removed all the debris and hauled it away. I would recommend him to others and will definitely use him for other projects.

I called Jeff, and he suggested I send him a photo of the areas I needed help with in my front yard.  Based on the photographs and my description he gave me a quote and said he would call me back.  He did and shortly we had scheduled a time for him to come to my house.He arrived on time with a crew of 3 and they made exceptionally quick work of the two trees and the replanting.  Gave me good instructions on how to care for the tree...I paid him the quoted proce and he was off to another job.
He seems to have a broad understanding of all things horticultural and mechanical.  I will not hesitate to call Jeff again when I need his help.  Fair Hones

I received more than one bid for this work, but I felt that Jeff had good handle on what I was trying to accomplish.  It started out as a simple landscape project, but since he had experience with decking and concrete, I had him line item those pieces and eventually hired him to do the whole thing.
Jeff was quick to respond to my questions via phone or email, and I was able to approve block colors and scheduling that way.
The work itself went very quickly - they had the entire job finished in two days.  The concrete block work is terrific - really adds to the appeal of the house.  The deck extension has doubled our outdoor living space - we love it!
I had Jeff return after the job was complete to repair a deck board that had come loose and he came back to repair it the same day.  Service was outstanding - you can tell he prides himself on doing quality work.

We were very pleased with the overall workmanship by Jeff and his crew. He was very good at keeping us informed of what they were going to do and when. They were on-time each day and worked very hard to complete the job in only 3 days. Jeff and his crew tore out our old sidewalk and poured a new one. We replaced all 20 plants in the front of our house that were getting old and "woody". They mulched all around our house and cleaned and mulched a large flower garden also. Part of our property is woods and we had soil erosion occurring as you left the yard and went into the woods. Jeff suggested a re-straining wall and the workmanship was outstanding. We also had them plant 8 new trees and several new plants in our yard and extend the flower garden mentioned before. I found Jeff on Angie's list and both my wife and I were very pleased with his professionalism and commuincation with us. We were always informed of what was going to happen and when. We will definitiely call "A Handyman & A Greenthumb" when we have more landscaping/concrete/wall building needs. Great job guys!!!

I called Handyman and a Green Thumb and asked him if he could come back this spring to sand and stain the railing he put up for me last fall. Jeff was honest up front and let me know he was swamped and behind schedule and it would take him a few weeks to get out to my house. I even asked him if he could fix a leaky shower by a certain date and he turned down the business because he did not think he could deliver on time. I like that honesty. I would have preferred to give Jeff that work but at least I was able to have time to get a hold of another plumber to help me out in time. When it eventually came time to do my railings, he notified me about two days earlier and let me know exactly when he would perform the work. That afternoon I got home from work and he was all done. The job that Jeff did on the railings was great. Two coats of weatherproofing stain look very nice. Additionally at the beginning of spring I also asked Jeff to clean out my gutters for me and he did so for a very affordable price. I have always enjoyed interfacing with Jeff and he has always delivered exactly as promised. Great Contractor for whatever you may need. Very professional.

I couldn't be more pleased with this company and it's a fine example of why I use Angie's List. You know what you are going to get before the work is performed. 
The work was completed before the day promised and the work was very high quality. I had planned on installing two new shrubs myself to replace dead ones, but had them do it professionally instead. They did it for the same price as originally quoted without this additional work. Now that's a company you want to use and use again when needed.

The owner, Jeff Watkins met with us & gave an estimate for the work we wanted done.  He was very helpful in his suggestions, polite & extremely professional.  We had him build a stone wall around our BBQ grill, added an additional 10 ft to our existing patio, insert a drain along a fence line to control run off water & build a new staircase from the house to patio.  The stone wall turned out awesome & Jeff added a shelf for additional work space which we love.  The additional patio space was poured & scored to match up perfectly with the existing patio.  Jeff has an eye for detail which we really appreciated.  The staircase he built is amazing.  We did not realize how bad & unsafe our stairs were until we had the new staircase installed.  Jeff uses high quality wood & builds a staircase to last forever.  We had him install iron spindles with decorative post & cap.  The staircase is now safe & beautiful!  His crew worked hard & was as professional & courteous as Jeff.  Always cleaned up as they worked.  Careful with our lawn when using big equipment.  Jeff had to dig up some landscaping plants to pour patio.  He offered to replant but we had decided we did not want them in the new space.  He then dug up the remaining plants we did not want!  He was always willing to do a little extra to make sure his clients were satisfied.  We are very satisfied with the work done.  We would certainly use Jeff & his crew again & recommend A Handyman & A Greenthumb to other members.

Jeff met with me three differnent times to make sure my wife and I clearly communicated what we wanted. He gave us a very realistic idea of his time line for getting started. As we picked out the colors for the wall material. Jeff gently made suggestions about the colors that would complement our house. All I can say is trust his judgement, if you have any doubts. we went with his suggestion and it looks marvelous. He and his crew arrived at 7:15 exactly when He said he would. When they left at 5:30 our house had been transformed. The work site was immaculate. He even cleaned up areas that were not his responsibility. I could not be more pleased with the service and and the product. I highly recommend Jeff and his work.

The work went well just as Jeff had communicated.

I called Jeff for a quote on Landscaping and repair work.  He promptly returned my call and set a time to get together.  He arrived on time and helped us design a rock garden.  He also helped with an erosion problem correction in the front yard and under the deck. We agreed on a price.  Jeff set a  start date.  He called three days before start to confirm.  He and the crew arrived on time and began work.  They worked very hard and continued until the job was completed.  They started on a tiered flower box in front or the steps.  They then cut down and removed a gum tree.  They then started work on the flower garden in the backyard.  They removed and replaced with a newly designed rock garden.  They also added dirt under the deck and sloped it away from the house and covered it all with rock to match the rock garden.  Jeff and his crew spent three days build the block flower gardens and Rock garden.  The work was exceptional and the clean up was thorough.  We will use Handyman again and recommend them without reserve.

Jeff was very straightforward with his estimate, very punctual and they knocked everything out in one day.  They cleaned everything up when they were done and the place looks great.

       Jeff and his crew arrived promptly at 8:00am and started working to repair this wall. They had to completely redo this part of the wall and installed water drainage ( that was never put in from the company that installed it in the first place ). The retaining wall is now straight as an arrow and looks beautiful, with proper drains.
       We would not hesitate to use Jeff and his company again, and are already planning what we want him to do next. He gets straight A's across the board. It could not have been a better experience!
