I can say that I am grateful for Veteran United for being able to get us financed on a new home after Bankruptsy 2 years earlier. Quicken Loans would not even talk to us until we had 3 years behind us.
I can say that it was a pleasure working with Nick B..............That is where the pleasure stopped.
The loan processor sent us an email stating our file was going to under-writing and that process would take three days. What we were not told is that when she goes on vacation, our file stalls in the system until she returns, no one to follow through if this one person is gone. Our file was held up in under-writing for 18 days, we had 2 days before closing when the Supervisor of under-writing took over the file and had it completed within an hour. The person they had assigned to our file was writing questions she wanted answered that had been answered 4 times before, in writing. Our loan processor went on vacation twice during underwriting, so no one else I guess could follow through with our file.
Only spoke to the loan officer once at the end just before closing, very rude, act's like he is doing you a favor, even if you are paying him thousands of dollars for the service..........

I'm glad Angie's List helped me resolve the issue.

Veterans United specializes in VA home loans for veterans, and we are forever grateful for the service that they provided us. Purchasing a home is typically a very stressful experience and our processor, Sam Sexaur, was top-notch. Sam explained every step of the process and worked with us from the very beginning to get the mortgage that we needed at a great rate. Even with our less-than-perfect credit Sam was open and honest with the explanations of the items we needed to provide the mortgage underwriters without being the least bit judgemental of our situation.

me and my husband wants to purchase and house and had the process of obtaining VA loan. days before closing, i asked what my closing cost is and was shocked to hear that im gonna be paying near 10,000!!! Agent also threatened and said that it is either i accept it or leave it. either way, it is a win -lose situation, winnings goes to them, losing my end. if i sign and accept the loan, i will get the house I dont really liked and pay high fees. If i dont then I ended up losing my good faith deposit of $2000. I asked why I wasnt explained that the VA funding fee have options, like if i made a down payment, it will cost me near $5,000 for va funding fee, and that if i have 10% downpayment it will cost me only $3,000 thus saving me at least 2 months of rent! If the company is there to help us, they would have explained it, knowing that I am a first time home buyer and not familiar with closing cost! I was expecting my closing cost to be only around 3500 but was shocked to be paying $5545. I was not even aware of it! All they said is, we did kept sending you papers. yeah, they did but the closing date kept getting extended that at that time, nothing was finalized. now, that we are ready to close. then i call and inquire, only to find out they charge me hefty fees!

We had gone through bankruptcy and so nobody was willing to help us. They kept saying we had to wait seven years. My husband is a disabled Veteran, and we explained our circumstances to Joe Choi of Veterans United Home Loans. I told him we had found a house but we had to get pre-approved. I gave him all the information and he came back a couple of days later and said we had been pre-approved for a certain amount. That was after three years. Joe is just the nicest guy. If I needed anything I just called right to him and he reassured me. Even when we got to closing I waited until the last minute to pack. Joe is very open and very honest. He is there for their customer, for the Veteran and their family. Their service is excellent, I recommend them to any Veteran. He was there. If I had a question I'd call him and he'd call me right back.
