Chad was a sub on a basement remodel I did in late 2010, and I was so impressed with his fairness and professionalism that I called him back recently for another job.  Though the general contractor paid him for the main job (so I don't know how cheap he was), he proposed a few change orders that were just what the doctor ordered, and were very fairly priced.  Rather than take advantage of the fact that it would be a hassle for me to bring in a competitive bid in the middle of the project, he priced it cheaply to reflect the fact that he was already there working, and it would be an easy addition to the job.  He came in on a Saturday to do his part so that the project would keep moving, and he worked very quickly and accurately. Based on that experience I called him for some help with a sump pump project / mess that I had gotten myself into.  Again, with no competitive bid, he came out, proposed some options and took care of the job very quickly.  As a legitimate professional with overhead and taxes to pay, his hourly rate is higher than what you would get off craigslist, but he works so quickly that it makes up for it, and the end result is always outstanding.   I highly recommend Chad.
