Walker Roofing Company

During the installation one of the workers put his foot through the ceiling in one of the upstairs bedrooms and the promptly repaired the damage at no additional cost.

It was the first time I used them and they were fine. They gave me a reasonable quote. They did the work fast and I was happy with the quality. They were professional, responsive and punctual.

I wanted them to come and re-do the stucco and they said they wouldn't be able to do that. There were issues with the flashing on the roof. They were supposed to fix them and they didn't. They would never return my calls. When the first crew came out, they didn't have the correct equipment. It took them a month to finally get back to me and tell me that they couldn't do the job. They gave me some money back so that I could hire someone else to do the job. The main frustration was with them not returning my phone calls. They should have just told me that they didn't do stucco work.

Our previous service provider did an incorrect job, so our roof was leaking. The personnel from Walker Roofing were knowledgeable about their work. They did a fabulous job. They were prompt, and they came the same day that my husband called them out.

They did a good job. They got the job finished when they said they would. They cleaned up after they were finished.

I found Walker Roofing in the phone book. I hired Walker Roofing because they advertised that they would do a membrane roof. I called up Walker Roofing, I talked to them, and they came and looked at everything. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the young man they sent. They've been terrific. They knew what they were doing. It turned out, there was some bad wood under the old roof. They hired union carpenters to come out and fix all that wood before they did the roof. It was terrific. The roofers I hired 10 or 15 years ago did not do that. Walker Roofing did the work they were supposed to and stayed within their estimate. I would hire them again.

Fantastic work! They did the work very quickly, but the attention to detail and quality of the work was what really impressed us. This is a roofing job we brag about. One of the best decisions we've made. And, we found them here on Angie's List.

They had great comments on Angie's List. I had several estimates and they were able to give me a good price. I liked that they were able to do all of these different jobs. It took them 3 months from the time I gave them the down payment to the time that they got the job done. I had to call the office many times to find out when they would get started. They would never commit to a time when they would start the job or call me to tell me when they would start. I am mostly satisfied with the results of the work. It just took them forever to get to the work.

The job was done in just over a day. The dumpster arrived a few minutes after the crew on a Thursday morning and left a few minutes after the crew - just before noon on Friday. I was amazed that it was completed so quickly. I never had any problem contacting the company during the process and the crew did a great job both with the roof and the cleanup afterward.

They agreed to the work in October and they stalled to do the work until April. They did not return phone calls. They found a leak in the roof and did nothing to cover it up until I called them before a major snow storm. They were not truthful about the amount of re-siding work. The siding only needed a small area repaired.

I Mentioned coupon on phone and they refused to honor unless roof was replaced. Look elsewhere.

We got the bid from Walker roofing in October 2007. We chose Walker Roofing even though they were $1000 more expensive than our insurance quote and other bidders just because they were supposed to have an excellent reputation. We also paid in cash the total bill in October 2007 thinking we would get all the work done before the snow came. Between October 2007 and November 2007, the Walker Roofing sales representative that gave us the bid and took our money left the company. After a little sorting out of who the new contacts were, they came out and installed the new roof on November 21, 2007 but they did not complete the rest of the work until July 2008 and it wasn't until August 11, 2008 that they finally came back and installed the last exhaust pipe on the roof. They did not clean up after themselves very well, they did not return calls promptly, they submitted another estimate to our insurance company for $14,000 worth of work when it was only supposed to be an additional $2,000 to wrap a few extra windows. They contract out their work to others and thus one section of the company doesn't seem to know what the other one is doing. Overall, this was a very disappointing, time-consuming, expensive endeavor. Our roof looks great, our fascia and soffits are adequate. Walker Roofing definitely does NOT live up to the hype in the advertisements.

My original reason for contacting this company was to repair a small flat roof connected to the main roof. I called several roofing companies, and this was the first one that would work on flat roofs. I contracted with them to do the repairs, and they did a temporary fix that would hold until they could finish the job. Before the work could be scheduled, the rest of the roof was damaged by hail. They came back and gave me an estimate for roof replacement that was close (actually slightly under) the adjuster's estimate. They did all the work in two days. They gave me plenty of notice and were punctual, professional, and responsive to my calls. I'm very pleased with their work.

They came out three times because it took them that many trips to diagnose the problem. Everything else was wonderful. They were very responsive, but I wish they could have found the problem the first time out, but it could have been because of the way my home was built.

They did a good job. On time, fair price, good workmanship and a great contact person is Rob McKenzie. Terrific person to work with.

The company was there when they said they would be there. There was a small problem with material but the company worked with us and it was resolved immediately so the work could continue. They were efficient and cleaned up after the job was completed.

We concluded that we didn't like dealing with a salesman (their son in training), who didn't know his product as well as the others who bid.

They were very responsive at a time when many roofers weren't. They didn't come prepared. They had to ask to borrow our skill saw. My husband had to touch up in the attic. They didn't replace the chimney cap that they were suppose to. They did, however, quote us on our roof and when they showed up and saw it was such a steep grade, they didn't charge us extra.

We are still in the estimate stage (large job). Experience so far very good.

Paperwork was all in order. Blaine Massee spent a couple hours with us working the estimate. The invoice was the same amount as estimated. All paperwork was given to us and well-documented beforehand, so we knew exactly what to expect. Tom called ahead to schedule the roofing job and dumpster delivery and all went smoothly. Tom was prompt at returning our calls with questions. Workers showed up on the scheduled day to do the roofing and appeared to know their job well. Cleanup was very tidy. The workers took care when installing the shingles around the gutters and cleaning up the yard. The only complaint we had was that none of the workers spoke English, so we couldn't ask questions about the roofing project to ensure everything was being done correctly. In fact, the workers needed to come back after the install to replace one facia board which could have been resolved on the day of install if we could have communicated what needed to be done to someone. Otherwise, no problems arose.

AFTER I TOOK OFF WORK TO MEET THE COST ESTIMATOR FROM WALKER AT MY HOME, HE DID NOT SHOW UP FOR OUR AGREED UPON APPOINTMENT. I CALLED THE MAIN OFFICE BACK AND SET UP ANOTHER APPOINTMENT FOR THE UPCOMING SATURDAY. AGAIN, THE ESTIMATOR FAILED TO SHOW UP AND DID NOT ANSWER HIS CELL PHONE. I RECEIVED A CALL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY MORNING DIRECTLY FROM THE ESTIMATOR. HE APOLOGIZED FOR MISSING THE APPOINTMENTS AND SUGGESTED WE SET UP ANOTHER ONE. (WE RESPECTFULLY DECLINED)ON THE POSITIVE SIDE, THE OFFICE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY.

THEY ARE VERY FAST. THEY HAD THE GARAGE ROOF TORN OFF AND REPLACED WITHIN AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES. THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY, PROMPT, AND THEY DO VERY GOOD WORK. THEIR CREW IS VERY POLITE, EVEN THOUGH THEY ALL MAY NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. THEIR PRICING IS VERY REASONABLE. WE ALSO USED THEM TO REPLACE THE ROOF ON OUR HOME A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, AND AT THAT TIME THEY WERE VERY HONEST AND SAID WE COULD PROBABLY GET A COUPLE MORE YEARS OUT OF OUR GARAGE ROOF.

CHOSE WALKER BECAUSE THEY HAD DONE OUR NORTH HALF WHEN WE MOVED IN 9 YRS AGO, THEY COULD MATCH THE COLOR OF THE OTHER HALF AND BECAUSE OF GREG, WHO CAME OUT AND GAVE ESTIMATES. HE WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND PATIENT - COMING OUT MULTIPLE TIMES OVER TWO YEARS TO UPDATE ESTIMATES AFTER HELPING US DO A QUICK REPAIR WHEN WE DIDN'T HAVE THE CASH FOR THE WHOLE PROJECT. HE EVEN CHEERFULLY GAVE ESTIMATES ON ADDITIONAL WORK (GARAGE, ETC.) BUT DID NOT TALK US INTO PAYING FOR THINGS WE COULD DO OURSELVES. THE WORK CREW WAS FRIENDLY, EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL WITH 10 GUYS TAKING SHIFTS. THANKS, EVERYONE!

THE SALESPERSON WAS PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND POLITE. HE WAS ABLE TO WORK AROUND MY CHILDREN, WHICH WAS A PLUS. WE ARE STILL GETTING ESTIMATES FOR THE WINDOWS (WE'RE NOT IN A HURRY!) AND ARE STILL CONSIDERING HIS BID AT THE TIME THIS IS BEING WRITTEN. HIS ESTIMATE WAS MAILED TO US PROMPTLY IN A FORMAT WE UNDERSTOOD.
