It's my opinion that these guys are the best. Very professional. They don't try to upsell you and give good advise. Since we have a wooded lot we have used them on several occasions. Much better than the outfits that just happen to be in the neighborhood. They always arrived on time, do a good job and clean up nicely. This time we had them remove a tree from our front yard and one from the back. The one out back we had them leave the bigger pieces to burn in our fire pit. They also trimmed branches from a tree that hung over the roof of our house.

In removing the large pile of dead branches from the backyard, they chose to pick it up with a front loader and drive it around to the front of the house and dump it in front of the garage. This took numerous loads, leaving large amounts of debris along the path they took, and probably damaging a significant amount of grass. The tree trimmers did what they were supposed to do, but quit at dusk. They came to the door, I asked when they would finish, they responded that the next team that was coming would finish the remainder of the work to be done (trimming several additional trees, stump grinding, and debris removal). The team did come the next day, but only performed the stump grinding. I asked about the rest of the work while they were here, and they said I would have to speak with Amy, who is the horticulture speacialist that evaluated the job to be done and was supervising it. I called Amy the next day to let her know that a large pile of branches and dirt was left in my driveway, and that the grass along the path that the frontloader took appeared to be very damaged. I indicated to her that there was also debris all over the yard and that team that came the first day said a second team, like them were to come and finish the trimming and clean up, and they never showed up. This conversation was over the phone, and she mentioned a couple different ideas, which included reducing the job cost, and assessing the damaged grass in spring. Amy emailed me about a day or two after the phone conversation, saying she wanted to come by and take a look with somebody, to which I replied, "today or tomorrow?" She never responded to my email, and she knew we were leaving December 27th for Florida. Eventually we did receive a bill that was forwarded to us in Florida, which was reduced by about $500 off of the original price. I performed some calculations on the original estimate and found that about $1500 worth of work had not been completed. Since coming to Florida I have called her twice, and have attempted to get through to the office on several occassions, and can never get through to anyone. We are unsure of whether or not they have gone back to the home to complete the work.

They were very good to work with. It was very neat to watch them work. My only complaint is I felt their communication could be better. The estimate was very informative. Afterwards, we had to contact them to find out the job was bigger than expected and it would take a while before they would be out. Nobody came out until December. These skills could be a little bit better. Other than that, they did a fantastic job. Once an appointment was scheduled, they were prompt, worked hard and fast, and cleaned up very well. The guys who came out were very pleasant. I will use them again to keep my other trees healthy.

It went very well. It took 7 hours to do. One tree was on my property for 25 years, and it took a couple of hours to take down. I was very pleased with how well they worked and they totally cleaned up. It was like they were never here. A couple of weeks ago I received a phone call from the sales rep thanking me for my service. I have already requested a call in the spring for further work to be down. Thank you for the great service you have provided me.

Lance came out shortly after I called for an estimate on tree trimming, fertilization of trees, and to check our ash tree for signs of Emerald Ash Borer. He looked the tree over completely and we talked about options. His quote was lower in the tree maintenance and fertilization but higher on the EAB treatment. Once I called to set up the appointment, it was the end of October during their business time (at the end of summer) for the treatments; however, it was a good time for tree issues. S&S said it would take about 4 weeks to get out and trim. Almost 4 weeks to the day, they called on Friday and said they would be out on Monday which they were. The workers went over the job and went to work. It was a very cold day out and we had snow on the ground. They finished the job and cleaned up pretty well considering the weather and snow. There were a few branches that the workers said were not on the work order but they would check with Lance and come back out if more work was needed. I received a bill (a few day later) and hadn't heard from Lance or anyone else. I emailed Lance yesterday and he was not aware of the situation. He made an appointment to come out today which he did. He brought his saws and ropes and took care of the issue immediately; and again, cleaned up well. I have no problems when there is an issue. To me, how they handle it after the fact is important. I believe I got A+ service and would highly recommend Lance.

Went great. Rob came out and walked around our property with me, even though it was pouring rain. We discussed treating our Red Oaks preventatively for Oak Wilt, trimming our oaks, and removing some limbs that were hanging over a power line. He had a bid for us before he left, which we accepted after getting bids from a few other companies. S&S came out right away and treated the Red Oaks. The trimming of the limbs that were overhanging our power lines took a little longer as we had to wait for Xcel to come and drop the power line. They (Xcel) canceled a couple times. When they were able to finally come out, the S & S crew was courteous, efficient and clean. They also tested a Burr oak for a possible infestation, and made recommendations to help the health of the tree. We'll definitely be using them again in the future. They were awesome!

The estimate was good but their cost was higher and we went a different company. They were professional.

They sent an arborist out to my house to give me an estimate on getting a couple tree's trimmed, a couple dying/dead trees removed, and a couple treatments for some trees that were being impacted by a remodeling project. The arborist gave me some free advice on how to have the landscaping done in a way that would minimize damage to the trees. Their price is on the high end, but for the service they provide I was willing to pay it. They were the only company of the ones I talked to that was able to give me specific recommendations to address each of my concerns and give me an itimized estimate that allowed me to pick and choose which projects I wanted to handle now vs. which I wanted to wait on. I elected to have some work done immediately, and they are going to come back next month do more when it is seasonally appropriate.

Great! S&S provided top-notch professional and technical work. Lindsey Mike provided design services (she is excellent!) and the company handled everything. They had utilities located and marked for digging about a week prior to the scheduled work. A very professional crew was at my house at 8:00 a.m. on the day of work, and the entire job was completed that day. Clean-up was great. The plants are healthy and thriving, and the homeowner is happy.

S&S did a great job and we're very happy we hired them. The only thing that was slightly annoying was trying to get ahold of Emily, our main contact. When you call S&S you get a generic extension/operator and then wait for a call back from the person you're trying to reach. Or you can email and wait for a response that way. Either way, it would be more convenient to be able to talk to someone on the spot to ask specific questions. However, the work we wanted done was done exactly as we asked. We had three companies bid on our tree removal and S&S was very competitive but also was very thorough in their explanation of work that was to be done; other companies were not as thorough so this made me feel good about hiring S&S. We would definitely hire S&S again and will recommend them to family & friends!

I have used this company since the threat of ash borer appeared in the Twin Cities. They come out every two years and inject the tree with the appropriate chemical. I have found then to be dependable and professional. The price is always what was quoted, and they come when they promised

Lindsey was our point of contact. She was very responsive and accommodating. The contract was a little sketchy, in that it seemed kind of patched together and one-size-fits-all, regardless of the service being provided. We got things worked out with Lindsey, though, and gave the go-ahead. She said it would take four days to build the wall. The crew worked hard for long hours and got the wall built in two days! I'm an engineer who worries about all the details of every project. Every concern we had, they had already thought of and dealt with. The crew was very friendly and good to work with, and they did a great job of cleaning up the site afterwards. Workmanship was excellent, and our neighbors have been giving the wall rave reviews. Highly recommended.

Badly. When I complained to BBB. their response was to lie to BBB and also call me a liar. I will never do business with them again. I will also never trust BBB again, since they took their advertising client's word over mine. We'll see if Angie's List works for their advertising clients or their members as well, depending on Angie's response.

The project went very smoothly. The team of 3 workers came at 8 am and did not go home until 7 pm. They worked very hard and were very courteous and friendly. Even our neighbor commented on how hard they worked. Lindsey Mike, did the landscaping design and was at the job site each morning to review the previous day?s work and address any questions we had. As is often the case, some hidden problems came up. S&S only charged us for the extra material and not the labor required to overcome the issues. We were very pleased and plan to have them do some addition work for us.

Always quality service with S & S. They give a prompt first visit and estimate followed by setting up a work date. Everyone was very professional and skilled in their work. We were very satisfied with the work and cost. Definitely they will be our first call for work again.

They responded quickly when I called and had a detailed estimate in my hands in a week. After I hired them I felt they could have communicated better. They had to wait to have Xcel drop some lines which, according to them is what caused the delay in getting the job done. I felt they could have done a better job of keeping me posted. The work they did was excellent. When I came home that day, the only reason I could tell they had come was the tree was pruned and my back yard looked more cleaned up then before they had been there. I also appreciated that they clearly cared about the health of the tree. I would definitely recommend them.

They did a great job. They were very accommodating to our schedule and had no issues with anything like that. We had multiple meetings with the head guy to kind of find out what we were doing. He was really great to work with.

All wood and debride was cleaned up and taken away. The crew arrived at the scheduled time and completed the job in a few hours.

Used this company before, they are very skilled, tell you exactly what is needed, open to input, clean up excellent and communication is wonderful.

Quote was fair and company seemed professional. Due to travel, I had to reschedule with them several times. Due to cold weather they rescheduled with me several times as well. When I needed to reschedule for Thursday work, I called them on a Monday to inform them. No response until Wednesday, stating that the crew would be there on Thursday. I told them that I was traveling and would need to reschedule. They seemed put out by this. On day of work, I asked crew to call me when within a half hour of completion so that I could come home from work and review the job before they left. They neglected to do this.

Sarah (the estimator) obviously knew her business well and laid out a plan. The crew that did it were very capable and thorough, and they cleaned up very well afterward. Everyone involved was professional and friendly.

The entire procedure took less than 1/2 hour, and they left no mess whatsoever. I have been willing to pay a bit more for their professional quality of advice and work, and have had them remove two other trees, and treat and prune a mature ash tree I don't want to lose.

The work was done very professionally. I recommend this company without reserve.

Arrived right on time and did a fine job. They also did a great job of cleaning up the small branches, leaves, and other debris that result from such work. Tony, the arborist who came out in advance to evaluate the trees and my needs, was very thorough and professional.
