It went great! The power line to our house had to be taken down to allow for one tree to be removed, and that was coordinated ahead of time with no cost to us. The crew was quick but careful with their removal of the branches and trees, and cleaned up after themselves (raked and swept!). The stumps were ground down almost a foot into the ground, which was great because there won't be any "bulges" in our yard!

It went good. No complaints. I hadn't used them before. I would use them again.

The tree was probably hundred years old and it was a very big tree. I spent a lot of money in maintaining it as it was a rarest asset. They did an excellent job. They told me as to what the issues were. They did a wonderful job with that and I would recommend them to anybody. I will be absolutely calling them again as I have some flowering trees that I did not want to be trimmed at that time because I wanted to let them flower first. I have to call them again as they are ready to be trimmed. They were very prompt. They did what they said that they were going to do and when they said that they were going to do. I appreciated that they did not mess around with my time. I spent $500 for the trimming and $500 for cabling which was definitely a very good price.I got some bids from the other service providers as well for the job.

They showed up on time and provided a fair estimate.

We were very impressed with their work. They were efficient. They cleaned up so well after they were finished. They appeared to know what they were doing. I cannot compare the price to anybody. I really do not know. I would use their services again in the future.

Overall, this was a good experience. I feel that the price was too high for having them plant new trees. The work that they did was very professional but we had to wait an extra week. The day before our scheduled work, a tornado hit a nearby area and S & S needed to work on that project first.

Job went well. Quote was reasonable; they were able to come within a week of accepting the quote. They did a good job, and cleaned up after themselves. We have used them several times before, and they have always done good work. In the past I had thought that they were a little pricey, but this time the cost was quite reasonable.

The estimator was very knowledgeable and indicated that we could save our old oak tree in the backyard. Another tree service told us that he should be cut down because it was "dying". The workmen were courteous, knowledgeable and cleaned up the yard after they had finished pruning the oak tree. I would highly recommend this company and will not hesitate to call on them in the future.

This tree was already quite large when I moved in 30 years ago, but at that time it was more of an asset than a liability - it looked nice. 15 years ago I started to have concerns about how large it was getting: lots of unwanted shade, dead branches dropping during high winds and just becoming too large for a small urban lot. I started asking friends and colleagues for recommendations and even a few "drive by" tree services. I came away with the impression that it wasn't a desirable job - nobody really wanted to do it. 5 years ago I received a quote of $8300 to remove the tree that called for using a 190ft crane and hauling the wood over my neighbors house - I don't think so. Last year, after recalling radio ads for S&S I gave them a call and received a prompt reply from one of their arborists, Steve. He came out and examined the tree and assured my that it was in good health and maybe all I needed to do was have it cleaned up; remove the dead wood, open up the canopy, etc (approx $1,000). Since this was April I decided to give it a go - too late in the spring for removal without damaging the landscape. A few days later, Jason and his crew came in and with 2 guys climbing around in the canopy with chain saws they trimmed it up in about 4 hours. I was impressed with the results: more sunlight for my garden, the dead wood was gone and the tree did indeed "sail" in the wind - nothing of note came down during a couple of wind storms. As the summer wore on I noticed new growth appearing and decided I didn't want to fight with this tree any longer so I contacted Steve again in February to discuss removal. Again, I received a prompt reply. He came out and told me how they would do the job, how long it would take (2 days) and to contact him with any questions I had. We finally agreed on Mar 8-9 to do the job and his crew showed up right on time. Steve also came to introduce me to the crew and they told me what the plan was and when asked said they would set aside the wood I wished to keep. I let them get to work and it wasn't long before Eddie, the man in the bucket, was sending down the first branches for the chipper. Even with the cramped quarters - the tree was between 2 outbuildings less than 40 foot apart and utility lines about half that distance away - he made the task of taking this thing apart look easy - oh yes, I forgot to mention it was 70 feet tall. By the end of the first day he was cutting down "pieces" that looked to be over 2 feet in diameter and the trunk was still about 30 feet tall. I missed seeing the final day's work but I'm told Eddie needed to use a saw with a 70+ inch bar. That there is a bar of that size for a one man saw is impressive but to think they is a guy who can run it is amazing. As promised the job was finished in 2 days and I couldn't be more pleased. My thanks to all at S&S for a job well done and I hope Eddie got a couple of days off to rest, you earned it my friend.

Excellent. A lot needed to be trimmed from the tree and the person used good judgement in deciding how much and what to remove.

The arborist was knowledgeable and friendly but the company's communication to me was horrible. The arborist showed up on time and did fine. They had to come back to finish a tree that did not get trimmed. I did ask for an estimate for landscaping more than once and I never received it.

They arrived when they said they would. They finished the job when they said they would. And the charged us what they said they would. We've used this company many times before. They are consummately professional, competent and reliable.

S & S arrived to remove my neighbor's tree today and without asking permission backed their multi-ton truck onto my property. When I called to speak with Steve Sylvester to complain about the trespass - he told me it was my neighbor's responsibility to inform me they would be driving on my lawn. When I told him I thought it was his responsibility to get permission from me before directing his crew to drive on to my property - he first blamed his client (my neighbor) and then hung up on me when I informed him he was responsible for getting permission before driving his trucks on to my lawn. The ground was soft from a 1/2" of rain and their truck left deep ruts where they drove in and out. They drove over a private sidewalk, and felt free to move several items around in my yard to give them greater access. I am totally appalled at the lack of professionalism shown by Steve Sylvester and his crew. I'm even more upset that he seemed to feel as if there was nothing wrong with driving his rig across a neighbor's property without asking permission. No apology when I asked them to leave. No offer to repair the damages the truck left behind. This company defines poor customer service and unprofessionalism.

The company showed as scheduled reviewed the scope of work and went right to work. They were very careful to insure all personal property was protected. The crew was professional in their attitude, there gear and equipement were well cared for. The work was completed quickly and clean up was awesome.

After waiting two weeks without hearing from the company (they had my phone number, address and email address), I selected a different company

Received quotes from multiple tree service providers, many of them wanted me to spend a lot more money to have my trees trimmed. Some used scare tactics of saying I needed to "Cable" the trees to prevent limbs from falling. S&S Arborist came out and evaluated the trees, and said with the proper trimming they would be fine. The day they came out there was a crew of about 7 that showed up and spent 4 hours climbing and triming my two trees. They did a great job at making sure that every dead branch was removed and that there was no mess when they left.

Excellent over all service. Removing the buckthorn was a huge job. I rated the responsiveness at a B because I had to call twice to get a date for service. But, I realize it was a very busy time for them. Once they came--they were wonderful!

I have used them before. They seem to know what they are doing. They provide good services for taking care of your trees. I?ll use them again in the future.

A huge branch of our maple tree fell on our house on a Satruday night. We called S & S on Sunday morning to remove the branch from our roof and cut down the tree. Within an hour of our call there was a person on site to estimate the job and within 2 more hours there was a crew with crane on site. The crew promptly, safely and very professionally cut down and removed the tree. We were very impressed, start to finish.

Not the cheapest guys in town, but jobs are bid and supervised by trained arborists. One of the services that still climbs trees, which is necessary for trees located in difficult spots away from the streets and alleys. Quality of the work is very good and they clean up after themselves.

They are the one I would call, if I need a tree service. They did a great job. They came over to give the estimate and charged what they said they would. They were fast, cleaned up after themselves and it was just fine all the way around.

We own a landscaping company and have worked with other tree companies in the past, and since finding S&S Tree we've become big fans of them and have used them and recommended them as subcontractors on several of our landscaping clients projects. Their prices are good, the service and professionalism is top-notch. I've stood in amazement watching them take down large trees that overhang a house, and not only did they do an excellent job of taking down the tree and protecting the house, but they fully cleaned up the area afterwards, and even accomodated a client's request to save some wood as firewood. Overall, I would (and do) recommend S&S Tree.
