Description of Work: The crew of four spent four hours trimming one large soft maple and cutting a series of smaller trees in a windbreak that was overgrown. I had paid Angie's List $250 for $500 worth of work but when the estimator got here he would not even trim the one tree for this amount. I had him take a look at a group of other trees within the windbreak that were either dead or need to be cut so they did not protrude into a neighbor's yard. After talking to the owner the estimator gave me a bid to do the trees that I had marked. The total cost was to be about 4X what I had paid to Angie's List to do all the trees that I had marked. After thinking about it and since they were already here with all their equipment I agreed to have them do this. They siad that they would do all the trees that I had marked except one, chip all the smaller limbs(< 6"), cut the larger logs into 4' pieces and pile them in one spot for my use and clean up the area. I also agreed to pay them $75 extra to grind out two old stumps in another part of the yard. They did all this work efficiently except they left two dead trees that I had wanted included and were marked. Luckily I started to dig in the area of one of the tree stumps that they said they had ground out and found that about half of the stump was still in the ground. I called that to their attention and they unloaded the stump grinder and finished that stump. They appeared to be anxious to leave to get to another job and didn't walk around with me to check that everything had been done satisfactorily. I would have like this type of follow-up conversation. In the future I would prefer to hire a tree trimming outfit for a period of time rather than per number of trees. Arbor does not do their work this way. I was disappointed that the Angie's List special seemed to be a come-on to do more work. Arbor has very good and modern equipment and their workers worked the whole four hours so I was satisfied with that part of the job.

Description of Work: They cleared out several areas of brush, cut down several trees, chopped up some wood in fireplace size logs, got rid of some buckthorn, ground up multiple stumps,and trimmed up some of the other trees. They did an excellent job and kept us informed at all times in what they were doing at every step. They also made several valuable suggestions to things that would improve the area. They cleaned up and removed all the brush.

Description of Work: I was disappointed how they cut my lilac bushes and how they asked for more money for doing a small job that I feel should of been included on this deal.

Description of Work: Grind 4 stumps, minor clean up in a few trees and saved the day by removing a huge pile of branches from my and my neighbor's lawn from another tree company that skipped town and didn't pick them up as agreed upon.

Description of Work: They cut down 6 trees, pruned a lilac bush and removed several brush piles. |Communication was a challenge. We were told that they would not use machinery in the backyard, but a backhoe like device was used and did extensive damage to the grass and plants. |They were instructed to remove one branch and the suckers from the base of the overgrown lilac. They pruned it quite severely, leaving it down to just a few branches. We negotiated having it removed and a new bush planted as part of the same cost, which was nice. But it then took them more than two weeks and several phone calls to come out and complete the work.

Description of Work: We bought Angie's special for $249, valued at $500. We made an appointment with Arbor for Sept 23. Arbor showed up on time. The lead guy looked at our trees and shrubs and asked for $2,000 to take care of all the trimming. We thought he was a little too aggressive in pricing, especially some trees were already trimmed in early Spring this year. Anyway, we asked Arbor to trim a Maple tree and three small birch trees for $500. The work was done well. The workers were cordial, co-operative and professional.

Description of Work: provider said my location was out of their service area and would not perform the work. I had to make many phone calls and notice to my credit card before I rec'd a refund. This is unacceptable, $1300 is too much to have hanging in the balance while Arbor tech and Angie wait around to send a refund.

Description of Work: n time. Work done. Tore up the yard a bit with machinery, not enough room to get machines through to the trees that needed to be trimmed. If you use them (or probably any tree trimmer) be prepared for that.

Description of Work: The work done was good, however, they wanted to do additional for a lot more money and we had to tell them we don't want to pay anymore than we already had otherwise we are not interested. Ultimately they agreed.
