This is actually the 2nd time we used Scott. The first time around was to replace our water meter ($1,000) and the second time around we called him to unclog our drain ($280). Scott has consistently been responsive. He returns calls quickly and arrives when he said he would, he's very pleasant and professional. He is upfront about cost and works very efficiently. I plan on hiring Scott again for all of our plumbing needs.

Made several calls for bids to replace my leaking hot water heater. Scott was the first to call back (within 10 minutes). His bid for the work was close in price to other bids. He arranged to have the work done to fit my schedule and arrived right on time. Scott was friendly, knowledgable, quick and efficient. I will definitely use Scott for my future plumbing needs.

Scott was terrific. Showed up at the scheduled time and got right to business. He showed me what appeared to be the original flange from our 1910 house, very rusted and no longer attached to the subfloor. All work completed in 1 hour. Scott looked at a few other plumbing upgrades that we need and told me what needed to be done and an estimated cost. Will definitely use Spiess Plumbing for our future plumbing needs.

Scott Spiess arrived promptly by appointment to repair my kitchen faucet. He could immediately tell that (as I feared) I had bent toe faucet's soft brass beyond repair in my own repair efforts. He did not charge me for this visit. He promptly ordered a replacement faucet with matching color after I had a chance to look it up on the internet and give approval. The faucet ordered through Scott was as cheap or cheaper than the original. Scott had his wife pick up the faucet the next day and, since he had a job estimate in the neighborhood, Scott returned on Saturday (not his normal workday), and installed the faucet and new metal shut off valves. All work was done competently and efficiently and at a reasonable price. I am happy to have found a great local plumber thanks to Angie's list.

Mr. Spiess diagnosed the problem quickly as a small plug inside the base installed by the manufacturer when the porcelain toilet bowl was made. It seems that during the porcelain casting process it is necessary to leave a small hole to allow the casting forms to work correctly. In toilets manufactured now this hole is plugged with permanent epoxy plug. But when mine was made it was done with a small plastic plug secured with silicon. The silicon had faulted causing a small slow leak at the base. Scott cleaned the plug and reinstalled it with new silicon. At the same time he replace the wax seal, replaced the securing bolts, installed new bolt trim caps, cleaned the floor under and the wall behind the toilet and replaced the rusty chrome trim ring around the water supply line with a nice shiny new one. He did all this quickly, efficiently, and at low cost. Oh, and to make sure the new silicon set properly, he propped up the toilet and left for about an hour so it could set up faster. He went to do another service call and came back to reseat the toilet. This step was not really necessary, but as I work from home, the scheduling worked for me and gave me more piece of mind. This is my third time with Scott and he is one of the nicest, most accommodating and professional tradesmen I have ever dealt with (my dad was a tradesman). His work is exemplary.

Scott is great. He is fast and very reasonable. I was getting quotes for triple what Scott charged me. I hired Scott to help me with my bathroom remodel and had him out to the house on 3 separate occasions. Each time he communicated with me about his arrival, and called in advance if he would be delayed. I had him cap plumbing lines and change out and old shower hot and cold with a new mix valve. He installed a new drain for my shower redo as well as fixed an old corroding shut off. I had him come out and uncap the lines and hook everything up. He works fast and charges less per hour then others. I will definitely have Scott back when I need plumbing done at my house.

Everything went well. Scott promptly called from our initial inquiry and a day and time was set up. We agreed he could call us and come sooner in the day if his first job of the day ended earlier. This happened and Scott came at the time estimated. He was professional in how he completed the job. Very pleasant. We will have him back to do other work in the future.

I hired Spiess Plumbing to repair a broken stack, reroute some plumbing, add venting and clean the floor drain. They also installed a wall mounted laundry tub that I really like. They did a FANTASTIC job! From the beginning with the detailed written estimate, Scott was professional, friendly, on time, fairly priced, and knowledgeable. Scott's communication skills are excellent and kept me informed before and during the entire job. Upon completion, he walked me through every item of the job. His work is above and beyond my expectations. If I ever require any plumbing needs, I will definitely call upon Spiess Plumbing!

I tried to remove a clog from my bathroom sink drain pipe by removing the trap myself. It was old and when I tried to loosen it with a channel-lock wrench, it broke off at the trap and at the connector at the wall. I was out of knowledge and tools at this point, so I called my neighbor who is my heating boiler man too, he suggested Scott Spiess. Scott's web site told me that he has been in business for over 30 years, is licensed, bonded, and insured. So I gave him a call. He got back to me a couple hours later, apologizing for not calling sooner but explained he was in a basement with no cell coverage. He was extremely responsive toward working me into his schedule and was in my house less than 48 hours later. He assessed the situation, applied some creative thinking, solved a predicament of an inaccessible connector ring buried in the wall. He did this without having to break open the wall and installed a new drain pipe and trap for my bathroom sink in less than an hour. I also asked him to look at my bathroom tub drain as it was draining very slowly. It has a barrel trap and I suspected it would require a complete cleaning out. Once again, Scott came up with a more efficient approach when he instead suggested we look at the tube drain stopper mechanism. Sure enough, with a quick cleaning of stopper shaft, the tub drained great. I appreciate this sort of integrity. He also gave me a couple of pointers on some remodeling I'm going to begin soon that will save me some time and money. All the while he was working, we carried on a wonderful conversation. Scott is really a very nice guy. The kind of guy you'd like for a neighbor. He cleaned up after his work and made everything look like he was never here, even wiping off the wall where I had splashed goop when the pipe broke. He presented me with a very professional invoice on the spot and thanked me profusely for the business. His pricing was very fair. The next time I think I can repair something myself, I will have to think long and hard about not doing it and just calling Scott. Rest assured, that for every plumbing issue I have the least bit of insecurity about doing myself or for those jobs I know I can't, Scott will get the call. I strongly suggest, if you need a good, honest, nice-guy plumber, you call Scott Spiess. You will not be disappointed.

Scott was very professional and easy to talk to. He provided an estimate that was in line with what others had ballparked. I went with Scott due to his good site reviews, his obvious extensive knowledge and professionalism. We scheduled the service about a week out. I actually called the day before just to confirm and he showed up 5 minutes early that morning. Very pleased with end product.

I had Scott here for a couple leaking water pipes a few months ago. He was/is a master plumber, professional, and very reasonably priced. The gas lines in this 106 yr old house ran all over the basement and I had some concerns about the old valves leaking. I got an estimate from Scott to remove all the old gas lines and replace them with copper pipe. It sounded reasonable. He came in the next week and ran new gas lines to all 5 appliances (including the furnace). One water pipe ran around the whole perimeter of the basement, I had him run it directly from the hot water heater to the connection. I highly recommend Scott Speiss Plumbing.

Scott Speiss plumbing was a referral from a general contractor. Scott was willing to come that very day but we were able to put up with our work-arounds until he could get us on his calendar without trying be a master juggler, so two days later Scott arrived. We live in an older 1940's home and have a lot of the original plumbing. These "antique" fixtures are beloved and though beautiful to us they must be quite the pain for plumbers, as evidence; the last plumber who came by to give an estimate did not want to even consider rebuilding the faucets and was insisting on replacement of the whole kit and caboodle - when he met firm resistance on that approach said it would be 275.00 per faucet with no guarantee - we let that guy move on. Scott didn't batt an eye. He set down his bucket of plumbing tools and went to work. His professionalism was abundant as I'm sure that some of the situation was caused by less than good workmanship from previous repairs attempted by myself - Scott said not one cross word (he did emit a couple of short whistles) and when indeed a botched installation caused some issues Scott just put on his thinking face and came up with some solid best practices solutions. All faucets now work wonderful - he located a replacement filter and went and picked it up and isnstalled it. I am so impressed with his quality of work and even more so his caliber of character that I whole heartedly recommend his services to my fellow listers. I told Scott himself that "like it or not you are now my plumber and I'm going to be calling on you for all my pumbing issues from now until you retire." I mean and meant every word of it.

I've already told my friends and family about them. I checked around and the price seemed competitive. They came immediately.

Scott was able to come over the day after I called. I had already stopped the leaks, but wanted a more permanent fix. He called when he was on his way. Scott was professional, did all that I needed to have done and cleaned up after himself. I then got a quote for some future gas pipe work. He was friendly, helpful, upfront with his pricing, and a licensed plumber. Going forward, Scott will be the plumber I call .

I remodeled our upstairs bathroom (floors) and needed a professional to take out and reset the toilet to make sure it was done correctly. Scott showed up and removed the toilet, and then came back when the floor was done to reset the toilet. All was done professionally and on time. We also used them to replace another bathroom faucet last year and fix a toilet that was linking. Very reponsive when we called to schedule.
