The oil change went fine, but they found "a problem". The service manager said there was a serious leak in the head gasket and that it would have to be changed and the engine washed. I asked about bumper repair, and said I had an estimate from ABRA. He said ABRA was terrible, that the paint they put on would fall off in a year. I told him I'd had a repair made by them several years prior and they had done an excellent job. The tires were rotated, but they didn't check the pressure in any of the tires. I checked, and one had 34 psi, another 31 psi, a third had 23 psi, and the forth 22. I also checked in the garage where we park the car with the "serious leak" in the head gasket, and there wasn't as much as a single drop of oil on the floor. I had expected to get a bill for around $65-70 and ended up paying over $400, having been given erroneous advice and a questionable, and somewhat costly, head gasket repair. I'm genuinely sorry to give this report. I've used these folks for over ten years, but am now going elsewhere.

Through a series of unfortunate events, I discovered that the hull of my boat sat full of water over the winter, including the I/O engine compartment. When I called Roseville Auto in a panic, the shop told me I could bring it in the next day. They were straight with me over the phone that the entire engine might need to be replaced. When I brought it in, they looked it over while I was still there and discovered that the damage was less than anticipated. They replaced only what needed replacing and completed the repairs for less than the original (albeit sight-unseen) estimate (the cost included a new prop). The work was done within 48 hours and the boat looked great when I picked it up.

I have a 1970's 15 hp Evinrude and Roseville Auto and Marine were able to find replacement parts(even though this motor is no longer offered as serviceable by Roseville Marine, (too old a model)). They resorted to finding parts on E-Bay and then fixed my motor so my grand daughters and I could enjoy the rest of the summer fishing.

They completed it ahead of anticipated schedule and it runs like a top now.

They even found a replacement nob for the fuel mix so that is easier to adjust now.

No doubt I'll bring my boat motors to be serviced by them again

We were very happy with the service they provided.  We found Roseville Auto and Marine through Angie's List because we wanted a third party when purchasing a vehicle for our daughter to drive.  We brought a 15 year old Volvo to them to inspect before we decided to purchase it.  We were told by the owner that the car had had regular maintenance and no problems.  The mechanic found this to be not the case.  There were so many things wrong with the vehicle and he explained every one.  He gave us an estimate for each issue and we were able to make a well-informed decision.  We were able to go back to the seller with the information and a report detailing the issues.  He even made a list of the have-to-fix-right-now-issues (for safety) vs. needs-repair-but-could-wait-a-bit-issues (like the A/C).  We decided against purchasing the vehicle because of the mechanic's recommendations and because the cost to repair the safety issues exceeded the amount we'd pay for the vehicle.
I would definitely go back to them with another used car or for service on our current vehicles.  The price was very reasonable for how thorough they were.  We also felt that they were very honest considering they could have down-played the issues and then we would need to bring the car in for service.  Also, they knew a lot about imports and that was especially helpful.

We brought the car in for a coolant flush because the coolant was dirty when we bought the car. It was discovered that it was unlikely that the timing belt had been replaced in a very long time because it looked like nothing had been touched. We knew that a timing belt failure would be a very bad thing and it is recommended that the water pump be replaced at the same time. Fortunately, we had spent less on a car than we could have assuming that we would have some repairs that would be necessary.

The lady who answered the phone could not have been friendlier and kinder. She took our info and made arrangements to drop off the car that morning. Within an hour, the mechanic had called to explain what was going wrong, run through the contents of a couple of technical service bulletins from GM with me, and help me figure out the best plan for fixing things. He was patient, did a great job of explaining things, and was clearly focused on doing what was right for me instead of trying to up-sell me into a repair I didn't need. I've already started recommending them to others, and I'll be back the next time my car breaks down.

They were great to work with.  They took the car and examined it, then met with us to explain our options.  I appreciated them being patient and explaining all of the options we had.  Basically, after consultation it was decided our best course of action was not to perform services to investigate and fix potential issues with the engine due to the anticipated high cost.  I would highly recommend them and plan to use them again in the future.

It was good and I've used them for a couple of times.  They were responsive and they let me know what was going on.  What has to be done in the future has to be done now and when you ask them to fix something, they would fix it easily.

The mechanic confirmed that I was ordering the correct parts and I was able to make an appointment for my Jeep within a few days time. They replaced the shocks within a couple of hours and provided the parts in a box. The mechanics perform quality work and are very knowledgeable.

A rare find!
We've have had both our vehicles into this shop for different repairs.  It's hard to find a good place that repairs conversion vans, but this is one!  Recently they fixed the front AC unit that wasn't working.  This is a repair we had previously had 'fixed' at the dealer.  (Turns out, after returning 5 times, they-the dealership-didn't fix it after all.)  John at Roseville Auto not only fixed it in one trip, but noticed an issue we were having with the fan and fixed that as well.  Then when we picked up the van he showed us our bad parts and explained what went wrong, what he did, and how to better use the AC unit in our van.  The owner, Gretchen, was working the desk that night.  I have to believe when they don't act surprised by the lengthy consult, that this must be a normal part of their service.
The service is well worth driving across the metro for!  They have been very good at keeping their final price close to the estimate and keeping us informed of progress.
Honest shops are hard to find, we'll be sticking with this one.

Brought 2 cars in several times in the last three months. Found Roseville Auto and marins through Angie's list. So far their prices have been reasonable and their responsiviness has been great. They seem to take an interest in the cars and offer (without pressure) maintenance advice.
