Animal Rescues/Shelters
I haven't adopted a kitty from Feline Rescue but I volunteer there every week and from the first it has impressed me with the quality of care the volunteers and the organization provide. If you're looking for a kitty come see us, we know each kitty and their personality to help you pick out the best fit or better yet volunteer and really get to know them well. The youngest ones are in foster care in private home to socialize them so if that's what you're looking for you'll need to make an appointment to see them. Check out the list of adoptable cats on our website to know where they are.

I adopted my cats from here. I last got a cat there in 2007. I don't recall the exact pricing. I would give an educated guess of two hundred bucks for shots. It is all volunteer run. The people are great.

They rescue and provide care for abandoned and abused cats. They provide health care for them and handles adoptions. The most important fact is that it is a no kill shelter. It is for cats that are found injured somewhere. They don't let the people to bring their cats if they are moving and can't take their cat. When an owner wants to surrender a cat the shelter does not take them because there are so many that are abandoned, abused and wandering around out there. It is harder to deal with cats that are feral. They try to teach people how to take care of feral cats in their neighborhood. It is all volunteer there is not always someone on the phone. When we call there we always have to leave a message and they will call back. The shelter is only open for certain hours of the day. They have no permanent full time paid staff. There are certain cats that we don't take to the shelter. Small kittens are never at the shelter. They grow better or healthier in a home environment where we can socialize them more. Their price is competitive. The care that the cats get in order to socialize and get them healthy and so on. I know that not one cat is adopted out to a family until we know that it is going to be a good addition to the family. We don't always get a person on the phone when we call, but we will get a call back as soon as somebody is in the office. When there is a need there is always somebody available. When I first start volunteering three years ago, there was an orientation so that people get to know how the organization functions, what we tell people and what we can't tell people. We can't make a lot of promises for things that our organization can't do to make sure that people know what they are up to.
