I am seen at the U of MN for a chronic blood disorder. In the past my annual visit, including labs and echocardiogram, cost around $400 out of pocket. We have a new insurance plan now and I paid $1100 out of pocket for my visit. I don't have a choice of insurance providers but I won't go for this annual visit anymore.

I called to see if a specific service would be covered and at what level. She wasn't sure and told me she would call me back. I wasn't expecting anything, but I received a call back within two days explaining my full benefits and why this was a more difficult question. My questions were answered completely.
