We had an estimate and talked with Brad Shoop. Very nice to talk with, called and sent estimate very timely. We had a sky light put in previously with Beissel. They did a good job. The experience with the estimate was good. However, we went with another company with a lower estimate.

Work was actually done by General Home Improvement Co, A Division of Beissel Window and Siding. Extremely pleased with the result. Highly recommended. I never met Allen Schlagel in person (but my husband did and could tell he was skilled and experienced), but he was courteous and did great work. We had already planned to have the house re-stucco'd in the spring (had already had it sand blasted), so I wasn't optimistic nor concerned about the patch work... But it was excellent! You have to have a very good eye to find the holes. After the work was done, I couldn't even tell Allen had been at the house.

This job we had a little trouble with the doors, the frame was cracked on one and we had to wait for replacement parts, with came in damaged as well. They did get the job done, and the doors look good.

Very professional. Prompt, courteous. Came out to house the next day to answer a question I had regarding the insulation.

Allen gave me an estimate in mid November about 1/3 less than his #1 competitor said the time would be late in the year. Started and finished project 1/8. They arrived on time and did a great job, even did a little extra, cleaned up and left. Very friendly and cordial workers.

I was impressed with the woman who did the presentation.

The work was done very professionally and timely. They really wanted to do the work right. Al came and gave estimate in mid summer. We decided to have the work done a couple of months later and the cost didn't go up, which it did for the competition by 7%. They scheduled around our needs (We just had a baby and needed to schedule on a Friday or Monday so my family could schedule when to visit in-laws). When they found out the flat middle ceiling of my upstairs was already blown, instead of leaving it at that, they did the sloped portions between the runners and the flat middle ceiling. They did the foyer even though they said it wasn't in the estimate (it was in the competition's estimate) for no extra cost. They also blew insulation over the ceiling of add on room over garage for no extra cost. House really feels warmer and quieter. Did the blowing in two days and came back to fill the holes. I have a stucco house and they did a very good job of matching the color.

Great job. Several contacts to answer questions prior to signing the contract; abundant samples to pick from. Work was completed timely and clean up was great. A couple of minor fixes were needed to the completed project, but readily willing to address the problems. Staff was in contact with homeowner on when work would get done. Even weather delays were communicated to homeowner. I was never left wondering what was going on.

I called once to ask some questions after I got the proposal Brad wasn't available. I called again and left Brad a voicemail when he wasn't available, but when he left me a voicemail, he failed to answer the questions I'd asked. Later, I called again, left another voicemail -- repeating the questions -- and asked the receptionist to be sure to tell him that I'd left a message for him and ask him to listen to his voicemail. I never heard back!

Linda Bartlett, the sales rep, was terrific. She brought examples of the different windows available;a whole range of price options. She walked the house with me, pointing out differences in the installation on the 3-season porches vs. the rest of the house. The old windows were a funky design, and new models would not have completely covered the screw-holes from the old windows. Linda brought in the installers for suggestions and we ended up installing a single window to see how their modifications worked. Linda was patient through many weeks of this process, I never felt pressured to commit before I was ready. When the remaining windows were installed, the work was completed in less than a day;yard was clean. I would never have known the workers were there (except for those nice new windows!) I was sure happy to have those windows with today's 20 mph winds!

We received an estimate, but went with another contractor who was better at answering our questions and who had a lower bid.

I'm sure this is a good contractor, however, they probably don't need the work and that is why they estimated all of the work so high and weren't interested in the roofing work.

Outstanding experience! Al was very knowledgeable, skilled, friendly, a straight-shooter, and reliable. Everything he said would happen, did. Each work day, the work areas were well-cleaned up each day, and Al called to give me a report. He discovered that the 2nd floor walls were already insulated, so he adjusted the price accordingly. New roof vents and stucco patching provide evidence of areas insulated, which appears very complete. The stucco patching is the best Ive seen- in many places the patch is barely visible, even up close (what remains to be seen is how the added insulation impacts my homes climate and heating/cooling bills). Im giving the price an "A" because although it wasnt the cheapest quote I received, it was right in the middle of the range and very fair.

Its been two weeks and I haven't received it yet.

I had 10 companies, both siding and painting, inspect my home, discuss options and provide bids. Beissel's sales representative was remarkably professional, knowledgeable and reliable. He provided the most thorough of all bids in the shortest amount of time. He also worked with me to choose the right style and color of siding. His focus was on my needs rather than ''upselling''. Their installers were perfectionists and delightful to work with. Some of their installer teams have worked with Beissel for up to 20 years. Since the quality of the installation job is at least as important as the product installed, skilled installers are vital to a successful job. My newly-sided home looks great. I love it, as does everyone else who sees it. I couldn't possibly be happier, and I highly recommend them!

Tell them you found them on Angies List and youll receive a 5% discount. Project was put on hold, but I will call them again in the future.

I had a good experience with Beissel. They gave us the best price of 3 bids. They explained what they'd do and answered our questions. Since we were a small job, it wasn't long before there was an opening and they were able to fit us in. The man who worked on our house was friendly and professional. The siding looks great. There were small piecies of siding to be picked up after the job was over, but other than that everything was great.

We had arranged that this work could be done over a period of time, which it was. I was very pleased that I was not billed for any of the work until the entire job was done. This spanned nearly 3 months time. The quality of the work and products are excellent. I noticed immediate changes on my energy usage after the insulation was put into the attic. They actually did me a big favor by installing the insulation in 2006, so I could get the tax deductions offered this year. This company does many other things, including windows, siding and decks. I have asked for estimates on additional work, which I fully intend to have done when I can afford it.

The workmanship was adequate, but certainly not optimal. For example, Al Schlagel told me he would seal all the by-passes into the attic using spray foam, but actually, he simply packed mineral wool into the cracks. I found a significant by-pass still open after the work was done. Also, the crew did not clean up insulation spilled in my yard when the pneumatic transfer hose burst. Surprisingly, Al could not explain how he determined the amount of insulation needed to achieve R-48 in my attic. He did not even know that all insulation is rated in terms of R-value per inch. Generally, Al is an amiable person and basically reasonable, but he does not communicate directly and maturely. He did not take time to discuss my specific questions about the work to be done, but rather rushed into doing the work.

This company was absolutely excellent to work with, with high quality products, incredible expertise, high degree of integrity, extreme patience, & follow-up after main project done. Jon Stenson is probably the best sales person I've ever dealt with, extremely service and quality oriented. He went the extra mile to give me a more decorative look to my 1946 home, ordering special trim to get the look I wanted and looking at various houses to find the one that best resembled what I wanted. Mark and Ed, who did the siding and carpentry, were great; great workmanship, extremely trustworthy, nice and very good at what they did. The gentleman installing the insulation told me I didn't need something initially recommended due to the original insulation in the house; I wouldn't have known either way. They were flexible to accommodate extra work orders, even when not convenient for them. Any issues were resolved promptly. This company has been the best of the best so far and a great value.

Sales staff was very knowledgeable and prompt at answering our questions. The crew that came out was extremely competent, professional, and on time. They took care to ensure that everything was cleaned up and put together properly. The trim on the new windows looks better unfinished than the finished trim in the rest of the house! We will definitely use them again.

The sales person was efficient and professional. He brought samples. The scheduler was very good. The workers did not know where to install the door and left a note about the problem. They told the scheduler that the person who was at my house to let them in told them where to install but the door did not fit. This was not the truth. She suggested that she call me to confirm, but they figured it was a certain door from size but it wasn't. When I called the scheduler, she promptly rescheduled the appointment and it was taken care of promptly.

I took 3 bids and this is one of two that had the best price. I chose them because they were more than willing to do the other work that I needed done. Workers are friendly and represent the company well. It was a big job so there were 4 or 5 things I wasn't happy with, such as debris left in back yard and cracked window trim paint. I wrote a letter to Beissel and they gladly sent people to repair each. When all is said and done things turned out nicely. An area of improvement is the lack of communication. The jobs were done from July to September. I was never really sure when the people were coming out, I would be told next week and some guy would call me two weeks later to say they were coming out next day. Other than that, I would recommend.

THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. THE ESTIMATE WAS COMPLETED PROMPTLY. JOHN WAS HELPFUL AND ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS RESPECTFULLY AND THOUGHTFULLY. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED WHEN SCHEDULED AND IT WAS DONE BY TWO VERY PROFESSIONAL WORKERS. THE FINISHED PRODUCT LOOKS WONDERFUL. I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH IT. I WILL NOT HESITATE TO USE BEISSEL AGAIN.

THE SALESMAN CAME OUR VERY PROMPTLY AND GAVE US AN ESTIMATE WHICH WAS VERY ACCURATE. TERRY CAME OUT TO MEASURE. IT TOOK A FEW WEEKS FOR THE WINDOWS TO BE MADE. BUT TERRY AND GEORGE ARRIVED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD AND DID A GREAT JOB INSTALLING THE WINDOWS AND CLEANED UP VERY WELL AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. WE GOT AN ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT AND A SENIOR DISCOUNT. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK AND THE PRODUCT.
