Brian (the owner) was great to deal with from arranging and receiving the estimate to setting up the appointment with his crew - Steve and Will.  I got 6 estimates and Lewis was in the lower 1/3 so  I didn't hesitate to select them since a friend of mine also used Lewis for a similar job recently. They were able to schedule the work within a week of getting the estimate which was another bonus.  The crew arrived right on schedule, bright and early, and worked hard all day.  They were very conscientious about keeping the house and work areas clean. All said Lewis is just a great outfit.

I first inquired about insulating our attic two years ago.  An appointment with Mr. Lewis was scheduled, and he arrived promptly.  He conducted a thorough inspection of our home and made specific recommendations.  He was extremely knowledgeable and professional.  He provided important information about his company, length of time in business, care in hiring employees.  That evening, he e-mailed an estimate for the work that was much lower than another estimate I had received.  We did not proceed with the work until this year.  When I called, Mr. Lewis cheerfully came out again and thoroughly re-evaluated our home.  Even though I said that I understood if the estimate needed to be increased because of the intervening two years, he honored the previous estimate.  He was very careful to be sure that we obtained an energy rebate and contacted the energy company on our behalf.  On the scheduled date two employees arrived exactly on time.  They were very polite and explained clearly what they were going to do.  They took great care in keeping our home clean.  They worked very hard the whole time they were here.  I could tell by the conversations that I overheard that they were approaching the project in a very thorough and thoughtful manner.  When they left there was no sign of insulation, and everything was very clean.  I promptly received in the mail from Lewis Insulation all of the forms required to receive an energy rebate.  They were completed, stapled together, and the few areas remaining for me to fill out were highlighted.  The whole process from beginning to end could not have gone more smoothly or inspired more confidence.

The work went very well. Brian and his crew answered all of my questions and did a great job.

The inspection showed some issues - house built in the 60s, hadn't been re-insulated since then, and all insulation was compacted and some was damp. Inspection also showed the vents were not connected through attic to the roof - venting into the attic, increasing ice issues in the winter.
During the inspection, the provider took care to explain what he was finding, and where it wasn't obvious, he also explained why it was important. In addition to doing a clean, efficient job installing conduits, sealing the ducts, and replacing roof vents with the correct type, he worked with me on some materials, granting me a discount for soffit vents that I procured.
When the installation was blown in, he had us look at the completed work and asked if we were happy with the job (we were). Then to finish, he added some insulation to the crawlspace door, and caulked it so that there would be no cold air leakage through the door.

Brian provided a very reasonable bid and his team did outstanding work. The lower level was toasty warm all winter. We have already recommended Lewis Insulation to friends. They worked to fit our schedule, and were extremely courteous and knowledgeable.

After another insulation company failed me, I called Lewis at 430pm on a Thursday.  Friday they came out and did the free estimate and then by Monday they were finished with the job!!! 
I am refinishing 1/2 my basement in an old 1960's rambler, I had already had the framing up (left a 1" gap behind framing for the spray foam) and passed my electrical inspection, was just waiting on some insulation.  When I called on Thursday, the ballpark quote given on the phone was accurate after the actual estimate.  Estimator said they had a job Monday morning close by and could do the work after that.
Monday morning, the crew showed up early and were very helpful in informing me about the product and the process.  They put tape on all the framing and covered the floors, so that when they were finished the room was ready for me with no mess!!!  They were in and out very quickly and again were helpful (I asked a lot of questions!!)
Another thing to note, the estimator noticed that I had a large quantity of "sound" insulation in my garage when he arrived, after we were talking about the project in my basement I was explaining what I was doing (music room in the basement) and was trying just to improve sound absorption, he recommended I try using resilient channels in the ceiling and even had his crew show up Monday with an example of the product and where I could get it.  But the thing I really liked about it was he was just informing me about something rather than trying to sell it to me, I was very appreciative of the information. 
I am very pleased with the quality, timeliness and friendliness of everyone I talked to or worked with a Lewis Insulation.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal special for his service and the experience was very positive.  He was really nice, honest and told us that we did not need anything. He was prompt and showed up on time. Mr. Lewis went up in the attic and did an infra-red camera inspection around our ceilings and everything so he was very thorough. When we got done he said our insulation was adequate but that he could top it off if we wanted but he did not think the cost would justify the benefit. He gave us two estimates; one for sealing the seal plate around the house which is pretty standard now but was not when our house was built and the other for the insulation. I did not compare prices but the prices seemed fine to me.

Fun to watch them blow insulation in -- poked my head up there to see before and after. 
Already can see a difference on the roof (much less snowmelt compared to before).

They gave us the best deal for the services they were rendering. They were able to amend the deal to include the foam insulating the perimeter at a very attractive price. This company is very professionally focused and the work team was very polite and cleaned up after themselves. I felt like they did a very good job.

Brian came out promptly to perform the estimate. He recommended having an energy audit done which was being offered at a discount through our natural gas provider. In addition, the audit would allow rebates for the work performed, and would provide important details about air leaks into the home, etc... The installers came out and performed their tasks, were professional, and we are very happy with the work. Just want to point out that the main installer did a great job, and is a great asset to Lewis Installation.

The job done will be passed to others in need of quality insulation work . All personnel involved are professional and as neat as insulation work can be.

I'm so glad I got a third bid for this project from Lewis.  Theirs was the least expensive, and the process worked smoothly from beginning to end.  I especially appreciated their good communication throughout, as well as afterwards with completing energy rebate forms.  I recommended them to my next-door neighbors, who also hired them to do their attic insulation, and that resulted in a gift card for me as a thank you for the referral.  (This was in addition to the gas gift card that comes with the Angie's List connection.)  They also offered a discount on the upcoming vent work since they had had to change the date of my work due to employee availability.  I am noticing a difference in furnace operation/heating efficiency,  and am hoping to see this reflected in upcoming Excel bills.

Brian Lewis came to the house to identify causes of uneven snow melt on the roof and ice dam formation. He recommended some repairs and full attic insulation as the current level did not meet code. He provided a detailed estimate for the work. He also suggested that we schedule a full energy audit with the gas company, which we did. The audit recommended that we have a ceiling fan installed in one bathroom. After the energy audit, we sought estimates from two other insulation providers. We decided that Lewis Insulation offered the most expertise and best price. The company also arranged to have an electrician install the fan prior to the insulation work. The work crew came to the house two weeks later and completed the job. At our request they came back two days later and reassessed heat loss, which had reduced substantially. They also provided all the documentation we needed to claim a rebate from the gas company.

Brian answered all my questions - got me a bid via email by the end of the day.  Nancy and I communicated about scheduling and billing - very quick to return my voicemails.
Crew was very professional and very courteous - took shoes off before they got the drop cloths down, cleaned up afterwards, even vacuumed! Explained process and made sure I saw exactly what they did.

I hired this company to do an infrared scan of the house to spot heat loss leaks and make an estimate of repairs. They did that and were competitive. The estimate was done in writing and well itemized. They arrived at the agreed time and completed the repairs in a professional manner. They were respectful of the house and cleaned up when finished. All in all, it was a great job and I am satisfied with their work and have recommended them to others in the neighborhood.
