They did an amazing job so professional, neat and clean and they even fixed the problem 100%. I would hire them again in a second.

Very impressed with the professionalism of the gentleman who came to give me a quote - he explained every step, shared videos of the process, and printed the quote on site. The two gentlemen who came out to do the work were excellent communicators and explained the process. They had to come back for the caulking due to rain. They returned on schedule and the finished product looks great.

David Kottke replaced a sump pump for us. In addition he solved several small issues very quickly by providing creative solutions. David did excellent work, was on time, and left our basement cleaner than he found it.

Dave did an excellent job. Initially when he unboxed the dehumidifier it was a different looking one than what I had been sold. He went above and beyond to connect me with the company that made the dehumidifier to assure me that it was the same product but just with their innovative Basements branding on it. It would have been better if the sales man had told me about this prior to installation.Dave was not the salesman but the installer and did an excellent job.

Dan was very meticulous, creative in problem-solving ideas, and took extra time to put together a bid for my project. My basement situation has a number of unusual aspects and I really appreciated the thought and care Dan put into coming up with an idea of what might work. In the end, I went with a different company because of the cost difference. If not for that, I would have hired Innovative Basement Authority.

David Kottke came to do our annual inspection for the waterproofing job on our basement. It was the first inspection since we bought the property and he explained everything that had been done and answered all of our questions. We inquired about a battery back up on our sump pump and he was able to install same day! Great work!

We are extremely disappointed in our experience with Innovative Basement Systems. We hired them to replace a support beam in our basement and trusted their explanation of why their costly plan was structurally necessary. After we signed the contract, they changed the original plan to what I am assuming was cheaper for them, but they said it would cost us the same. After installation (early January), we realized that in order to install their beam, they had cut another support beam, causing part of the 1st floor to start breaking away from the rest. It took multiple calls and emails to get a response (over a month later). They said it wasn’t their fault because they couldn’t see the beam’s function when they cut it, so we had to pay for the fix. They didn’t agree with my perspective that they should have either checked the purpose of the beam first or at least told me, the homeowner, that they were cutting something without knowing its function. They agreed to “compromise” and split the cost of the additional repair with us, and we felt stuck since we wouldn’t be able to get another company out to fix it for cheaper. To fix it, they added an extra support column which is out of line with the rest, which looks terrible and makes the basement less functional. Not only that, but the first person they sent “installed” it in an incorrect and dangerous way (no bolts to hold it in place, not even perfectly vertical). After multiple additional calls, we got the project manager to come fix the “fix”. After he was done (late February) he said that within a few weeks he would submit the letter necessary to clear/close our permit. Months passed while we periodically left messages with IBS to remind them/try to get an update on this letter. We received no responses, and the lady they always forwarded us to never seemed to be in the office. In the meantime, I had tracked down the inspector to see if we could schedule an inspection ourselves (not our job), but he said the only way was IBS’ letter. In July, IBS finally responded that they’d submit it within a week, and they’d let us know if there was any delay. Neither of those things happened. After a few more unreturned calls to IBS, I asked the inspector to call IBS himself. Literally within 1-2 days after he called them, he had his letter and the ordeal is now over as of late August, 7 months after the initial installation. We strongly recommend you NOT use Innovative Basement Systems- we could not regret it more.
