I called this AM and was in a pinch b/c my car was stuck in the garage. The coil split and the door is so heavy (wooden) couldn't even lift it (when I disengaged the opener) to get my car out while I waited for repair. Dean was able to send someone out asap and it was within the hour that I was good to go. Great job - highly recommend!

I called on a Thursday to get an estimate, they came out the next day. They gave me a detailed estimate of how much everything would cost, and a they were able to set up an appointment to come out right after they gave me the estimate. They were able to come out the following Wednesday to replace the door, tracks, and track supports that were installed incorrectly by a different garage door company. It took only a few hours to complete the work, and everything was working perfectly. They also cleaned up after themselves. Very professional, would use them again!

When I called the guy who answered the phone asked me if the lights were blinking. I did not remember. He explained that blinking lights would mean the sensor were misaligned and it is the owners responsibilities. It would not be part of warranty. I checked and called back a couple of days later. We made an appointment, and Joe showed up right on time. He found out the plastic gear was broken. He asked me for the receipt I got when I ordered from them back in November 2008. I did not aware of that expectation, and could not produce the receipt after searching through my files. I told him I expected their office would have better record of my order, and I just could not produce the receipt he expected. He called back to his office and subsequently told me that the garage guy will have the work performed under warranty and I do not have to pay for the service. I am glad they stand by the product they sell. Just be forewarn that they expect you to produce the receipt when you bought the product from them.

I called the garage door in the late afternoon on a Saturday because one of the spring coil lines had come unattached and the garage door wouldn't disconnect. Originally, Dean told me he couldn't have anybody come out till Monday. Concerned that the door wouldn't close and that I'd have to wait a few days, I told him I'd have to call somebody else. Dean then called his tech to see if he could stop over on his way home from another job, and the tech was at my house within an hour. Great service! The tech fixed the garage so it could close and also convinced me that we should probably replace the door soon. He sized it up, wrote me an estimate, and they came out two days later to install and haul away the old door. The new door is great and will last us a while. The price was reasonable and the work performed in a timely manner. I've used this company several times to fix garage doors at two different residences and I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience. Very responsive. One of our doors broke & they were able to get to our house the same day we called. They confirmed the our 30 year old doors needed to go and were able to get back to our home in two business days to get the new doors installed. They estimated it would take 4 hours to install the doors and they actually finished an hour early. Prices were very fair & they did a nice job of cleaning up & hauling the old doors away. Great experience. Would gladly use them again for service calls & would recommend them to friends & family.

Overall a great call. I called at 8am and discussed the problem over the phone. Dean provided a great initial explanation of what the possible problem was and what it would cost. They arrived within 5 hours of the initial call (within their time estimate). The tech took one look and it actually needed less service and parts than originally thought! It took about 15 minutes and is working well now.

Had issues with my old garage door not closing evenly. A cable had also snapped and the crew from Garage Door Guy came out the next day to repair it. After a couple weeks, noticed that there were still issues with the garage door closing. Kevin came out, replaced the rollers, but there were still issues. Dan came the next day and recommended an upgrade to a torsion spring system. This normally would cost $269, but because I had already paid for them to repair the door a few weeks earlier, they knocked $50 off the price and didn't charge for the roller replacement. Also, Dan is really helpful and informative, and the new torsion system rocks.

Our experience with The Garage Door Guy was great. Our door was replaced due to issues with the old door. When we weren't able to get into our garage, he was willing to come right out and help us. He helped us choose a new garage door and advised us against getting a more expensive door that we didn't need. My only down point is with the quality of the wood that they used to trim out the new door. They used scrabbly pine and I will have to do quite a bit of sanding and/or patching before I can paint. Otherwise, this was a smooth project.

Their advice about choosing doors was helpful. Their bid to replace all 22 garage doors was reasonable. They communicated with all the homeowners and worked with each of them to schedule the door replacement so it was convenient for each of the homeowners. They were neat and professional. They kept to their schedule and brought in additional workers to make sure they finished on time. The work is top notch and Kevin was great to work with. I enthusiastically endorse The Garage Door Guy!

They came very quickly and got the job done. He did a couple of other things that make the door work better. He explained things on what could and should be done. They put in springs that exceeded the builder's quality. It was a very positive experience. I have recommended him to other people.

My experience was great overall. I attempted to go to work and the cable snapped on one side. I could not open the door manually. I did a quick search on Angie's List and found The Garage Door Guy with many positive reports. I called around 6:30 AM and left a message. In about an hour I received a call back. I explained my situation and said they would be able to get out around 11 AM. Got a call from Tony just before 11 AM and he said he was on his way. He arrived when he said he would and fixed our door quickly. Also, performed all of the extras I was told about over the phone with my initial contact.

Our garage door was falling very hard. Our garage opener was not working. I called and explained what was going on and they gave me an estimate based on what I told them. They said once they came out they would check to make sure they were correct. They told me if I needed a new Opener how much that would cost as well. They arrived on time and checked everything out. I thought I needed a new garage door opener. They said all I needed was replacement parts with a garage door adjustment. They adjusted the door and replaced the garage door part and with in one hour everything was working GREAT. The honesty and EXCELLENT work done by this company is refreshing. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

They were excellent. They came when they said when they were going to come. The serviceman was very courteous and prompt, and he was very good about explaining how to use the new garage door opener and the features of it. He did point out the problem I was having with my rollers, that they were squeaking, and he told me how to repair it. He quoted me the price for doing it, and it was very reasonable, and now my garage door does not squeak anymore.

The experience was great and I will definitely call this company again as this is the 2nd time they have responded very quickly to my call. The only comment I would make is that it would have been nice for them to install the light bulbs in the opener - not a big deal - but after they left we had to get the ladder out to put them in - seems like it would be just as easy for them to do it during the installation - and would just make the experience that much better.

Our garage door was acting up - it wouldn't always go all the way up and wouldn't always go all the way down. The cold weather seemed to make it worse. I called Kevin at the Garage Door Guy - he answered the phone, I explained the problem - he said he could be out the next day between 10 & 12. He said it sounded like it just needed to be tuned up. Kevin arrived at about 10AM the next day and said, "This is a really old door." which didn't sound so good to me. But, he said he would see what he could do. About 20 minutes later he let me know that he had it working again, but truthfully he wasn't sure how long it would last. He said that everything about the door and opener was old and about to give out and that while he could make lots of money doing repairs, he wouldn't recommend putting any more dollars into it. He advised the next time something stopped working to just replace it. We discussed the cost for a replacement door and he was on his way. He charged us the minimum $85 fee. The door is functioning great at this time, but when we get ready to replace it, we will definitely call this company. They were quick to come out, they didn't try to do more than necessary. Frankly, he could have told me we needed a new door at that time and I would have thought that to be the case. I admire the integrity that was shown and appreciate that he got it working so we didn't have to spend the dollars for a replacement quite yet.

I called on a Saturday and made arrangement for the technician to show up on Monday morning. When I called on Monday morning to get the exact time, there seemed to be communications problem within their company and lost my appointment. They were able to send a technician in the mid afternoon. The first quote was based on their ability to fix the motor mount. They even tried get some parts from another machine to repair the computer board on my motor mount. Once we decided that the motor mount cannot be fixed, they quote my a new price for a new motor. I ended up having a new motor with more power. They kept me informed of their progress and I was happy to have a new more powerful motor. I had left them to finish the work and paid for the service for an appointment. They were trustworthy and finished the work with instructions for 15 year old my son to setup the remote and controllers.

Great! The first call was an emergency repair of a broken spring; door would not open. We asked for proposal to replace the door and they provided no-pressure proposal that seemed reasonable compared to other estimates we had. The door was replaced on schedule, no delays, and no changes in what we had asked for. These folks are true pros, they know what they do and they do it well.

Called on Thursday before a holiday weekend; they offered to come out on Friday, but I opted to wait until the following Tuesday since it wasn't an emergency for me and it would be easier for me to be home. I talked with Dean, who gave me a two-hour window of time for Tuesday morning; Kevin (who did the work) was concerned that he would be a little late and left me a message, but did indeed arrive within the specified window. He looked at what the problem was (garage door stopping and reversing repeatedly when opening and closing); he confirmed it would be a service call fee of $85, which is exactly what I wrote the check for when he was finished. He'd fixed the problem and done some general service (lubricating hinges, etc.) all within about half an hour; he showed me what he'd done and provided some general information on what had caused the problem to begin with in case it caused problems again in the future. I appreciated that they came prepared with a new garage door opener (just in case), but also appreciated that he didn't even suggest installing it when it was clear that the opener I have is very functional, but just needed some adjustments. I also noted that he offered praise to the installer who put in the door (through a local home store, not The Garage Door Guy), citing that the fit was unusual as was the structure available for the installation of the opener itself (it's an old house, with some quirks). It's nice to hear professionals appreciate the work of other professionals. I would definitely use them again, and will recommend them to anyone!

From the first phone call, the service we received was excellent. Everything about our door and hardware options was explained in detail and has proven to be accurate. The actual cost matched the estimate - no surprises. The workers were friendly and professional, leaving everything clean and in perfect working order. The turnaround time from estimate to installation was less than a week and everything happened right on schedule.
