Jim's Clock Service & Repair

I contacted Jim and described the problem. He originally thought the clock was unrepairable but asked me to send pictures. He was able to come up with an alternate plan: replace the electric motor with a battery-operated version while keeping the integrity of the looks. I was able to pick up the finished product within hours. It keeps great time, looks great, and the price was reasonable. I would definitely use Jim's services in the future.

Jim did a great job with our old mantel clock. He had to order a special part to fit, but he got it done in a week and it works perfectly now!

Jim is very knowledgeable and honest in assessing the work he could do. The clock has chimed for over 30 years but the mechanism is worn. Jim did the best he could and the clock sounds terrific. I would have him back again.

Jim came over to oil our clock. Of all the people I've had oil the clock in the past Jim was bye far the best. He was very careful and meticulous. I would highly recommend Jim for any clock work.

Extremely well! Jim is very very knowledgable on all clocks - he has been doing this for many years. He was here when expected to fix the grandfather clock and he oiled and did maintenance on it as well as fixing our problem. He was very respectful of the area he worked in - put down a blanket so as not to harm anything. Grandfather has been working wonderfully since he came out. The antique clock had a broken spring so Jim took it with him to order the spring and fix it. He said the approximate time it would take and he was right. When he brought the clock back I was amazed. Jim and cleaned the frame with lemon oil and the inside and face of the clock and the glass - it was beautiful!! Jim seems to truly enjoy his work and it shows in the end result. I also appreciated that he was able to tell me which of my clocks were not work repairing. I am afraid the time will come when it is difficult to find a craftsman like Jim to care for our clocks, but in the meantime I’ll always call him1

I was not home, but Jim worked with my wife Vera and found the problem with the clock. He replaced the missing parts and lubed the clock. The 35 years vanished175 the clock runs like new again,

Jim is honest, professional and knowledgeable about old and antique clocks.     He responded to my concern over the phone and said he thought it wasn't a spring but would have a look at the clock.   He was sure it could be fixed.    I was sure the clock had finally broken beyond repair.      He had me bring the clock to his home where he did all the repair work and checked it out thoroughly.    He is honest and capable and knows his stuff.   Said he comes from a long line of clock repairmen.

I walked up to his door and asked if he could repair a clock I had with me.  He took a look and gave me a price.  He the repaired it on the spot.  15 minutes later I was on my way home with a pendulum clock woking once again.  He knows his stuff!

We have a 25 year old grandfather clock that quit working.  I found Jim on Angie's List and gave him a call.  He was close by and stopped by that morning, looked at the clock and determined that he could fix the problem on the spot.  He also cleaned, oiled, and balanced the unit and it is as good as new!

He came over to my house and checked out my clock, which was too big to drag around town.  He turned it from an old damaged  broken clock to one that's new and pretty and works very well.
I told my cousin about him - she had a grandfather cloth that hadn't worked in years - and he went right over there and turned hers into something wonderful again.
I really liked him, and his performance, and how genuine he was.

He removed the workings of the clock. 
He oiled and cleaned the workings
He had to replace a part that the pendulum attaches to, which was a bit awkward but he got it.  
A new nut was placed of the small bolt for the hands.  
Jim, also was very good in explaining what he was doing, how the clock was going to work and did suggest that if I wanted to replace the movement, he called to make sure it was available and the general cost.  
 
He was friendly and I was extremely pleased with the service.  I will call him again when I need or decide to replace the movement.

If you want someone who throughly knows clocks and offers his services at a VERY, VERY reasonable price....THEN THIS IS YOUR GUY!!!!!
We are extremely satisfied with the workmanship and knowledge we received from Jim.  As he worked, he explained in great detail about our grandfather clock and what every part was and did in the actually working of the clock.   Jim throughly answered all of our questions and we sensed he had a true passion for his trade of work.  He was very careful as took apart and reassembled all of the delicate parts of the clock and maintained a high attention to the smallest details.  We learned so much about the clock, I inherited from my own grandfather who had built the entire clock and wood cabinet himself.  I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jim to anybody looking for an expert in clock repair and maintenance and I know every time I have a question or need any type of service, Jim will be the only person I call to come and service/maintain our invaluable family heirloom.

Very prompt, kind and did a great job and gave me a little education about a clock that had been in the family for years.
Definitely recommend to others if you need clock work.
