"I completely understand the disappointment of this prospective customer. I admit I dropped the ball by not getting back to Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed]. Due to staffing shortages I was forced to focus more on day to day operations for a period of time and this lapse in communication was a result. I sincerely apologize."
"Hi [Member Name Removed], Thank you for the vote of confidence. We'd love to work with you again as well!"
"Thank you for the positive feedback. I think your back yard will drain wonderfully, your new garage will stay dry...and it looks really good, too!"
"It was great working with you, also. And even greater meeting with you a year later to plan your next project! I really appreciate repeat customers and don't take your trust for granted."
"Great working with you too! Thank you for the opportunity to keep your home looking ship-shape and one of the prettiest on the block."
"Thank you so much for the nice compliments. The greatest joy is working with wonderful people like you who appreciate creativity and keep coming back for more!"
"I love your adorable back yard hideaway! Great idea to create a small patio, surrounded by picket fence, as a place at days end to stare off into the woods and unwind. Thank you."
"Great working with you! Thank you. Yes, I was happy to offer a lower cost solution to your back yard, rather than a retaining wall. So glad you are happy with the steps, as well."
"Thank you, [Member Name Removed], for hiring us and for collaborating with us to create an exceptional project. We turned your secluded, wooded back yard into a beautiful, highly functional retreat. The two patios, different in shape and materials, separated by those sawn boulder steps, really work well together!"
"Thank you for your project and for the A grade. Your new retaining wall looks beautiful and will last many, many years."
"First of all, thank you for hiring us to do your project. This was a case where the client's expectations were unusually extreme, far beyond the scope of work outlined in our contract. The client also asked us to perform tasks that were outside the scope of work. The completion of the project was delayed by bad weather. Once the work was completed, the client refused to pay. I waited six months for payment and then filed a mechanic's lien on the property. This is the one and only time, in nearly 20 years in business, that I've had to file a lien in order to get paid. I was eventually paid and released the lien. I remained patient and professional throughout the entire process. 99% of the clients we do work for are very happy with the experience and with the results of our creative efforts."
"Beautiful home atop a hill in Edina. We took the landscape to the next level through a great collaboration with the homeowners. We are very happy with the results, as well with you A grade. Thank you."
"Wonderful, wonderful people and project...from our initial meeting to completion of their full landscape renovation. Thank you for the A grade. I hope the graduation party was a success!"
Mike made a commitment to visit our home for a landscaping consultation. Five minutes after the appointed hour, he called to say he had gotten behind on a project and needed to postpone. We agreed to a different time that he felt would be a better day for him. Thirty minutes after the second scheduled meeting, he had yet to show up so I finally called him. "Oh, yeah," he said. "I was hoping you'd call 'cause I didn't have your phone number." (Did he lose it from the previous week?) "I got busy and couldn't make the time. But I could probably come out a little later this afternoon if you want." His tone exuded carelessness. He made no apologies and expressed no concern for the fact that he'd kept me and my husband waiting. Fuming, as I had scheduled my work day to be home for the meeting, I suggested that perhaps he had too many commitments to be able to support one more client and said we'd pass. He made no arguments, seemed happy with that resolution. The silver lining for us is that we learned early on that Great Goats service can't be counted on. We'll take our landscaping dollars elsewhere before we waste more time and before we've risked any money! And I'm guessing that if Mike treats all of his customers so carelessly, pretty soon he will have all kinds of time to show up for consultations.
"Thank you for the opportunity to meet with you. I apologize for twice missing appointments. This was my fault. The first time I had it in my calendar wrong. The second time I would have called to reschedule but did not have your phone number with me. My mistake. It was December. We were working outside on a project, in the cold, with a crew member sick, and I needed to help my crew finish what we'd started that day rather than keep our meeting. The clients I meet with and do work for are typically very, very happy with the overall experience."
"Thank you. I always appreciate a grade of A for the work we perform. This was a very creative project and a charming couple to work with."
"I apologize for failing to provide a project estimate in a timely manor. We had a great initial meeting. But I dropped the ball. The clients I meet with and do work for are typically very, very happy with the overall experience."
"Thank you for the A grade. It was great meeting with this prospective client. I provided a creative proposal and estimate but the home owner apparently was not ready to start the project. Hopefully we'll get the call when he is ready!"
"I apologize for the scheduling conflict and I would have been about 30 minutes late for the appointment. I offered to reschedule and was told "no". I'm sorry that this person is still upset. The clients I meet with and do work for are typically very, very happy with the overall experience."
