I have had several other estimated done on the MGA in the years that I have owned it.  On other occasions, the estimator barely looked at the car, just pulled out a standard price guide, wrote down what it said. and handed me a statement, saying in effect, "that will take care of the insurance company".   In contrast, Al did a thorough inspection of the car, looking under floor mats, inside the hood and under the body, and gave me a detailed report of the vehicle condition.  This report not only met the requirements of the insurers, but also served to guide me in my efforts to further restore and maintain the car.  And Al did not charge me any more for this serious, professional appraisal than the others had for just going through the motions.  Not surprisingly, when I had to get a new appraisal for the MGA in Sep  2012, I took it back to Al, and when I an appraisal for my newest classic (1991 is a classic by Minnesota law) I took the Buick to him as well.  I am very satisfied with his honest and conscientious work, and will be back to him every few years as my cars grow gracefully older.
