USVICO

Not well. I did not follow through with the work.

We had hail damage. In the days following the storm, our neighborhood was inundated with contractors trying to sell their services. I successfully dodged all but USVICO. Biggest mistake I have made in a long time. They put on high sales pressure and I finally gave them part of the job. When asked to provide a bid, Lance kept saying "whatever the insurance company approves". I should have just kicked him out but I guess he wore me down. When they FINALLY started work, they blocked our cars in the garage. We had to call them late at night to find the one English speaking person at the subcontracting company to get them to move the dumpster. When they finished, there was zero follow-up, nails all over and no proof that they had a final inspection. (I found the permit laying in my shrubs unsigned). I had to follow-up with the city to see if this actually every happened. Despite several calls, Lance never followed up with us. Moreover, he tried to bill our insurance company for work we had another, more reliable company do. To add insult to injury, our insurance company finally allowed a bill to go through that was roughly 25% higher than the original bid. ALMOST 6 months after the work was done. I just received USVICO's final bill today and they had the gall to ask for more business. PLEASE, I beg of you, use anyone else or do the work yourself!

US Vico was trolling the neighborhood after the storm. They seemed to be pretty honest. I was fooled. Lance never wanted to provide me with a bid for work. Just wanted whatever the insurance company would pay. Kind of like going into a store and being charged whatever is in your wallet. I made the mistake of saying, go ahead on the roof. Then out of the blue, they show up and start doing the work. Blocking the driveway for 5 days. The roof appears to be fine but the vent covers are dented and I am pretty sure that the work was not inspected. I just found the permit in the bushes last night. Suffice it to say before US Vico gets another nickel, they are going to need to provide proof the work was inspected. Use anyone else!!!!

He had said we had damage to the garage door but it wasn't included in the insurance. He was supposed to meet the adjuster to look at that and talk about the additional $500 for the siding. The adjuster came and said Andrew called and told him we weren't pursuing the garage door and the siding issue was worked out. He was supposed to be here supervising the crew but hasn't shown up since we wrote the check. This has been fiasco and a big waste of our time. The siding is now done and looks good. They didn't put the lights on correctly. They've come back to fix some of the issues. We have additional issues after the inspector came. Under the door they said we shouldn't put siding because it gets kicked and damaged and they would just put cedar wood there and paint it. It hasn't been done yet. Home Sure Inc. are the subcontractors doing the work. I am happy with them because they are working with me on the issues. I have no respect for USVICO.

It didn't go very well. Half the work was done in a timely manner and done well, but there was a problem with the ordering of windows. That added a significant delay. There was also a mishung door that had to be reordered and rehung. We thought it would be a good deal because they offered us a discount in order to use our house as a show house. The work took way too long; it wasn't worth saving the money. I think they got too big, and the manager didn't take any notes when I explained the problems; he was later fired. It put the owner in a really bad position. He wanted me to accept the wrong door, and I refused. He was upset to be put out by the mishung door. Entry into the front door would be impossible from the angle where they hung it, and I didn't appreciate that.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE. THE WINDOWS ARE FAR FROM THE CHEAPEST HOME IMPROVEMENT, AND THEY'RE SOMETHING YOU ARE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT EVERY DAY, SO I CAN'T SAY WE WEREN'T A LITTLE NERVOUS SIGNING UP TO HAVE THE WORK DONE. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WITH VICO WAS PROFESSIONAL & FRIENDLY, FROM SALES ALL THE WAY TO INSTALLATION. THE ACTUAL INSTALLATION COULDN'T HAVE GONE BETTER, THE INSTALLERS WERE EFFICIENT, FRIENDLY, AND I COULD TELL THEY REALLY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. PLUS WHEN THEY CLEANED UP I THINK THEY LEFT THE HOUSE CLEANER THAN THEY FOUND IT! NO NAILS, SCREWS, SPLINTERS, OR ANYTHING LEFT BEHIND. THE WINDOWS THEMSELVES ARE FANTASTIC, I WISH WE HAD DONE THIS SOONER. INSIDE AND OUT, OUR HOUSE LOOKS GREAT. CLASS ORGANIZATION, TOP TO BOTTOM. I CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

EVERYBODY FROM THIS COMPANY WAS GREAT FROM THE BEGINNING. ESPECIALLY THE CREW, THEY WERE ON TIME, PROFESSIONAL AND VERY EFFICIENT. THEY WORKED DURING THE COLDEST DAYS OF OUR WINTER AND GOT THE JOB DONE WITH A VERY MINIMUM OF INCONVENIENCE. THE WINDOWS ARE GOOD QUALITY, EASY TO USE AND LOOK GOOD.
