TEXTURAL HUES LLC

We can't say enough great things about Candice Simpson and her business, Textural Hues. Her innate talent at helping select colors and themes to work around existing infrastructure, and yet fit in with our tastes, is astounding. Candice doesn't just do wall finishing, she does fine art. Period. Our story: We believe in retaining perfectly good items rather than throwing them away. So, we had a bathroom with good tiles, in dark/light brown multi-color, for the tub/shower enclosure, good woodwork and sturdy vanity. The woodwork (doors, door trim, etc.) and vanity were very dark, as was popular in 1974 ranch-type homes, with the darkest brown in the tiles matching the woodwork/vanity. We'd previously found a light marble vanity counter top and used colors in it and the tile to reasonably match new flooring. We also had an older, but nice, free-standing cabinet in white. So, the room did not look "coordinated" in any way. Candice came in and suggested wall finishing, vanity refinishing and cabinet refinishing in colors and textured-appearance that brought all the elements together in appealing and dramatic fashion. Her work was so outstanding that one person, who had never seen the room but knew the walls were painted, asked if we'd also replaced the tile! LOL, b/c the tile needs re-grouting and we only lightly clean it on a totally random basis. Our only regret - that we didn't take "before" pictures so Candice could post before/after photos on her Web site! Now, we're saving up for Candice to do all the other rooms/spaces in our home!

Wonderful!! Candice is very professional, efficient and METICULOUS. I am "fussy" and tend to notice every minor imperfection but she did incredible work and I'd hire her again in a heartbeat. She did an awesome job on both of the bathrooms. She also consulted on the painting for the main rooms of the house. She listened to the emotions I wanted the room to elicit and had me show her things in the house that I loved and things I didn't like so much. She used this to get color for family and then used the art/furniture to help narrow further. I would have never thought to use the colors she suggested but I love them! I especially appreciate that she recommended a straight-up paint finish vs. effects (what I originally thought I wanted) as what was best for what I was trying to accomplish, that meant that she would not get the work. She then recommended a painter who I see is also on Angie's List with straight A's.
