Interior Painting, Exterior Painting
It started well at the beginning although there?s a disturbing thing- we agreed to let them purchase all the paint of SW Cashmere they pointed and pay them a lump sum of $400 for it, but when we went to the SW store we found Cashmere they planned to use doesn?t have the washable feature they promoted to us. So, we required them to upgrade the paint to Duration. Since they lost the chance to get some discount profit by using the cheapest paint, they were unhappy and asked us to pay for all Duration they would use. We accepted their request.
They originally said to complete paining in one week but took two weeks. They made three appointments with me to wrap up the project. However twice I found they hadn?t completed painting at all but kept asking me to make partial payment to them. I don?t mind keeping their cash flow, but it?s a total waste of my time and distraction from my daily work to only feed them money. Whenever there are some issues happened, the main painter asked for additional charges, such as charging for adding one additional color for $100 (I agreed to compensate on his additional tools applied but couldn?t think of a reason for any cost to him besides that), charging for painting a kitchen closet as he didn?t call it a ?closet? ?.The most unreasonable thing is that he kept asking buying more paints, which raised me suspicious feeling. I counted there?s total of 32 gallons of paints on receipts he gave to me, far more than originally estimated 20 gallons. His original estimate of paint usage is similar to another company gave to me (16-20 gallons). So, at the last day, I asked him how much he used. He started from 24 gallons and then increased to 29 gallons when I brought my question on the gap of 12 gallons. With my further question, he said he used all paints and blamed me not have trust on him. I suggested counting the empty cans. He was mad and threw cans all over the place and repeating BS and F words no matter how I explained to him it?s necessary to validate the actual usage due to the big gap between original estimate and what receipts said. If he feels insulting, I feel even more insulting of tolerating such an crappy guy! We couldn?t count up to 32 cans. He said he took a few empty can home to reuse them. It looks like he might have used many gallons, a few gallons short to 32 gallons on receipts. Finally I cut the paint payment by $60 and didn?t pay him the additional charge he asked for kitchen closet as we told them to paint everywhere beside my laundry room at the beginning. My budget for paint was doubled! In a sum, the painting quality and price for labor are acceptable. However, heir professional attitude and punctuation on time is a nightmare.
