First of all, hands down the best experience I have ever had with any kind of service let alone a contractor. They stereotypes of contractors trying to get you for every dime, taking longer than estimated, etc. definately does not apply to Patrick Miller! As part of a company relocation and home buy-out, it was discovered that my detached garage was not stable and needed repair before they home buy-out could take place. I was literally scheduled to relocate 1100 miles away in one week and needed to secure a contractor to complete this work before I left. I left messages with several contractors but Patrick was the only contractor that actually answered his phone. I called him the Friday before Easter, sent him a structural engineer report and by noon on Monday he had provided me an estimate. I eventually heard back from another contractor but that was several days later despite having told them of my urgent timeline. Patrick's estimate not only came in under the other contractor, but he also didn't suggest replacing the entire roof to do the job like the second contractor. I met with Patrick on Wednesday to review the estimate, he showed me his license, insurance, and multiple Angie's List awards. Not only was he responsive to email/phone calls, etc., he was just a really nice, engergetic person that didn't make you feel like you were wasting his time. He answered all of my questions and explained to me in detail what he was going to do. I paid him half up front and as Iwas leaving town that Friday he was starting the job - a one week turn-around from phone call to start of job! Patrick provided me pictures via email to share the progress and had the work done and signed off by the city inspector within a week. I can't recommend Patrick Miller enough!

Patrick came out and gave me a bid, which I then took.
The fellow who did the work was very conscientious; respectful; and thorough. He had me come out and look at the work he did, which was good. This was tricky , because the damaged window was right next to an undamaged window, and the colors had to match exactly, which they did. We chose the appropriate color together.
My only concern is that I had an email on Sunday saying that they would be coming out sometime during the week. Without any other notice, he showed up at 9 AM the next morning. I just happened to be home, so could accommodate the work. I am not sure what he would have done if I had not been there, especially as far as deciding on the appropriate color.

Roof repair went as planned. Leak was located and patched with water barier and new shingles installed. Counter flashing installed on chimney. When counter flashing was installed water came out of the chimney bricks. Then they replaced the cap on the chimney and re-did the top two rows of bricks on chimney.
There was water damage to the interrior of the house. I looked at the damage with Patrick and we agreed that he would do the work to repair this damage. Patrick said he would be out early the following week. He also said he did not know the exact cost since most of the water damage would not be visible until they started pulling up the carpet and doing the work. He said he would send me something in writing so that we had a pre-agreed upon rate for correcting what was found as the work progressed. I said OK and he should come out next week to do the work. He never came or called. Several weeks later I called to see what happened and Patrick said he was waiting for me to OK the rates that he sent out. This was a miscommunitation - I thought we agreed he should do the work and he was waiting to hear from me to give a formal approval to the rates he emailed me. Patrick said that communication was one of his weak poiints. So I told him the rates were OK and he should come and do the inside repairs. He said he should be able to come out the next week to do the work. I never heard from him again.

We can agree over the phone to do the work but I never received an email that you agreed to my terms and we can start the work. I have to have this in writing or there are issues with payment. I am sorry the second part of your project never happened. The chimney project went great, and I am glad you were satisfied and gave us good ratings on work we actually accomplished."

During his bid Patrick keenly listened to our concerns and provided practical suggestions for dealing with the challenges of our roof. He stayed within our budget and the job was done in close to a day. The roofing crew was very nice and efficient, the pm could not have been sweeter. At the completion of project, the crew went around the house several times cleaning up debris.
We are very pleased with the result and plan to call Patrick back for further work on the house. Highly recommend!

Unreliable, unprofessional and disappointing. I scheduled an appointment with Mr. Miller to come out for an estimate on replacing several windows and performing some minor roof repairs. I got the impression, when I spoke to him, that he wasn't very interested in such a small job. I took time off to meet with him, but he never showed up for the scheduled estimate or called with an explanation.

Pat and his company (Patrick Miller Construction) built us a fantastic garage over a period of about a month (we were gone for 12 days during that period and they were rained out a couple of days), but they worked very hard to get it built in a timely manner. Randy, the cement guy and his crew were very good. I especially want to mention Phil and Tom, the carpenters, who were very hard-working and built us an absolutely beautiful (yes, it really is beautiful!), sturdy garage. The electricians were excellent, as were the roofers. We had a few problems with the rain gutters, which Pat dealt with and had fixed. Patrick really went the extra mile for us, bending over backwards to make sure we got what we wanted, that we were kept in the loop, and he did several "extras" for us which were not in the contract: swapping out our light fixture on our house for a new one, painting the side door jamb, swapping out one of our light fixtures which was defective, etc. We had very few unexpected situations, and what we did have Pat dealt with quickly and efficiently. The building inspector had a few minor things he wanted taken care of, and Pat, Tom, and Phil took care of them that very day. I really cannot say enough good things about Pat and his company. From the first time we met him, to researching various options for us, to tweaking the plan and working with the city building inspector, to the final product, this was a very positive experience. I only wish they had been around when we built our house twenty years ago. The garage experience was totally different than the house experience. Thank you Patrick, and all your good workers!!

He tried really hard to be honest. I was very concerned about the gutters being clean before they covered the ones that were remaining in the house. The gutters were way up on top of the second storey. The guy who cleaned the gutters, actually took pictures in his mobile to show it to us. Their pricing was outstanding for gutter work. He was responsive and very punctual. He was very professional. I would use them in the future.

Roofing team worked with the precision of a ballet company, almost seeming to anticipate every move and never wasting time or energy. Worked from 7:00 in the morning to 9:00 in the evening on the first day, 7:00 to 2:00 the second day to finish. The gutter team was similarly efficient and understood our exact requirements.

We will definitely be using Patrick Miller Construction in the future. I have a rental home that needed a new entry and storm door. The door being replaced was a non-standard height, so Patrick had to enlarge the opening, install a new header, and then install the two new doors. He and his crew did an AWESOME job and went well above and beyond what I asked.
First, he showed up for the quote and the install ON TIME! ... not 5 minutes late, not 10 minutes late... Then, the day of the install, it was 96 degrees with high humidity and no breeze. He and his crew removed and hauled away the old doors, cut a new opening in the wall and the steel exterior of the home (no easy fete!), put in a new header, and then installed the new entry and storm doors. He even made a special trip to the store to get some extra concrete to fill in a gap left by the old, non-standard door (most other guys would have left it, and I'd never have noticed).
If you want someone who gives a great price, shows up on time, and goes the extra mile, Patrick Miller construction is the company to use!

They were fabulous. The work cost me $17000, which I think was a fair price. The materials were expensive. They followed through and they showed up on time. Their estimates were accurate. There was some issue that needed to be addressed and they were very good to communicate with. I would definitely use them again.

It went great. I picked Patrick Miller's company based on Angie's List comments and I was not disappointed. The cost came in lower than my other bid and the quality of the windows suggested was higher than the other bid. Patrick actually brought a window kit with him and spent time showing me why the window he recommended was the best. He spelled everything out in writing. He followed up with the progress in receiving the windows I ordered. They came in a week earlier then promised. Patrick's crew came out and installed and they were very friendly, polite, and considerate of my house by taking off shoes every time they came in and they actually cleaned up after themselves. The most surprising part came when one of the guys asked to use my vacuum to clean up around the windows because he had forgotten his. I said, as I usually do in these situations, "that's ok, I will vacuum it up." 99% of the time the worker will say "great, thanks" and be on their way. This crew member actually said"no, its all part of our service" and he vacuumed it up himself. It was a pleasure working with Patrick Miller and crew and I will use them as I continue to replace my windows.

Our roof replacement journey began with the quote process. After getting quotes from 4 different roofing companies, we decided to use Patrick Miller Construction. When giving me his quote, Patrick took the time to educate me on the roofing options available and answered all my questions. As it turned out, our existing roof design was unique in its construction and required some creativity on Patrick's part to come up with the best solution (our house has a low slope roof with a vaulted cedar ceiling inside and no attic). Patrick's quote was the most expensive (his quote included installing insulation - there was none before and the use of solar (energy efficient) shingles) and I believe the most accurate because of the up-front research done. When the work was started, there were no "surprises" that would have raised the cost or changed the way the roof was installed. I believe the other quotes were not accurate and if we used a different company, they would have ended up taking longer and costing more as they didn't fully understand the type of roof we had (they just looked briefly at it before giving a quote). Also, prior to starting the construction, Patrick worked with the city building inspector to ensure what he was going to do would be approved. During the construction, Patrick took pictures of the old roof removal and installation of new roof and sent them to me so I could see the work as it was being accomplished (I was not able to get off of work to be on-site during the work). The roof replacement took 2 days and from what we have seen so far (it snow right after the job was done and we haven't been able to get on the roof to look at the work in detail) we are very pleased. The installation of insulation has definitely made a difference on our winter heating bills and with the installation of the solar shingles; it will be interesting to see the difference in our summer air-conditioning bills. I will update this report (if possible) when the snow melts and we get a full view of our new roof.

Patrick Miller did an awesome job! He was easy to get a hold of and showed up every day of the remodel. His sub contractors were great---especially Phil, who build the cabinet by hand, no store bought prefab stuff. At the finish Patrick made sure everything was to my satisfaction before I paid him.

Positives: the job was completed quickly and on time (within a narrow scheduling window due to our pending out-of-town travel and family reunion); the materials and workmanship appear to be of high quality; and the installation crew was diligent and careful of our landscaping. The job was efficiently and professionally done, and the roof looks great. Negative (and it turned out to be a big one): a constantly-rising bottom line, including two separate increases on the original bid price, "mistakes" made during estimating the job, and an inflated invoice sent to our insurer. And Mr. Miller refused to honor the "5% discount" Angie's List coupon (after saying verbally that he would)!

"Member signed an Insurance "Subject To" contract with my company. This was a hail/wind claim with his insurance company. This contract states that Supplements and Building Permits will be issued to the insurance company for the work performed as additional costs. This is standard practice in the industry. I should have notified the member before invoicing his insurance company. I cancelled my invoice to American Family and did the job for the original scope of work and price. I lost money due to the removal of the 2nd layer on the house and building permit. The member would not allow me to invoice his carrier for any additional costs. This would have been no money out of his pocket."

There was a kind of indentation into the roof and they weren?t going to replace the type of roofing or the decking at all when that was exactly what needed to be done. Their bid was much higher than what I had anticipated. I just dismissed it almost immediately. The gentleman who came out was very polite, courteous, and on time. He was also very thorough in what he was doing. There were no issues as far as that was concerned. I think there were a couple of areas within the job that he might have missed. I feel that would?ve come up once they were into the job. To sum it up the bid was not complete because the important issues were missed. I chose not to go with them.

It went very well from start to finish. Patrick delivered everything he promised, and more. Not only did he finish the project on time, the quality of the work was outstanding. His crew showed up on time every day, and were very considerate in picking up at the end of each day. We have young children who play in the yard, so that was important to us. We found them on Angie's List. They were very professional, I liked Patrick very much. The only problem was that they were supposed to start on Friday, but they had a couple of guys call in sick and they didn't want to start the job without a full crew. They came on Saturday and started at 7am in the morning and were done by 3:30 in the afternoon. They did a great job. I liked the way he handled it, especially because it was out of his hands. He said he'd rather apologize in the morning rather than tonight when they job isn't done. He was the low bid, too.

Patrick and his team did a fantastic job installing our two new doors. Patrick was very professional throughout the entire process. He provided a complete estimate up front including a description of the work to be complete and how it would be completed. His knowledge and explainaton of how the doors would be installed let us know that he knew what he was doing and gave us the confidence to give him the job. Patrick kept his promise of when the doors would be installed and how long it would take (only one day!) and he showed up on time when he said he would. After the doors were installed, we were thrilled at the quality of installation. Our job required removing some vinyl siding and re-installing with new j-channel trim around the doors. From the outside, it looks like these doors have always been there. It was a perfect installation. Thanks Patrick!

Patrick was responsive, timely and he did exactly what I asked his company to do. I've had issues with other contractors in various areas (quality, timeliness, response) and found working with Patrick to be very easy.
