I think that the person who came out was Patrick, but I don't remember. We'd paid for a $99 roof maintenance and sealing deal through Angie's, but it really turned into a free inspection with a clear caulking job. He was very polite and professional, but he didn't want to get up onto the top part of our roof because he didn't have a harness (we have a typical two-story home in Northeast). We went along with it (we're new homeowners), but after he left I realized that the part that he wouldn't get on to is the majority of our roof. I stood out there while he was on there, mostly because I wasn't sure what he'd do, and he talked to me the whole time about where the trouble spots were, etc. But I still think it's weird that a roofer would refuse to mount a roof because it was too high/sloped. 
Honestly, if I were asked whether or not to buy this deal, I would suggest to be sure that the contractor is required to work on the whole roof, and insist that he does. Otherwise, he sealed some potential problem spots, found a lot to repair (for which there was a full estimate), and didn't cover half of the surface area of our roof (b/c its slope was to steep for the height). Might be me, but I think that's weird, though I'll grant you that I didn't object when he was there. But like I said, we're new homeowners and didn't know that we had to be pushy to get what we paid for.

Patrick showed up on time and got right to work.  He was professional and pleasant - certified by national roofing materials suppliers to evaluate and install warrantied roofing.  After the inspection and sealing -- about 40 minutes - he supplied me with feedback verbally and in writing about what needed to be done further and why.  He noticed that the flashing on the L-joint between the house and garage was installed incorrectly and that the gutters on the garage needed to be replaced.  He also suggested that with better venting ice dams in the area would be prevented. (I had a problem in that area this winter.) The roof also will need to be replaced within the next year or so as the shingles are shedding particles and cracking in spots.
Since my house is a ranch replacing the roof,venting, and gutters will be an expensive undertaking. I asked for an estimate for the whole job, with options to do less so that I could determine budget. I have yet to hear from him, though.

Initial appointment was missed due to mixed assignments by the service.  I called them and asked about the no show.  They appologized for the mistake and we then set the next appointment up.  Once the next appointment came up, Patrick was early. The service did some spot sealing and took pictures showing me the roof's condition.
Patrick answered all of my questions and I felt like I understand where I am with a decision what to do with my roof and what time frames a replacement might best work for me and the risks that I might incur.
A suggestion going forward would be to put in the advertisement just what sort of sealing a customer could expect.

It went smoothly and I'm very pleased with his work and professionalism.  I would highly recommend Patrick.  In fact my neighbor was impressed by the work his crew performed and would like to contact Patrick.

I thought I had a roof problem when water began pooling at the foot of a wall in my house. I quickly scanned Angie's List for a well reviewed local roofing company and came across Patrick Miller Construction. Lucky I did.
A little before his close of business time (6PM) I'd managed to leave messages on both Patrick's numbers and sent an email via his company website. I didn't hear back by 6PM and figured I probably wouldn't until the following day - which would have been a problem for sure.
However, Patrick called me back by 7PM and patiently listened to my tales of water woe. He (correctly) diagnosed it was an ice dam problem and gave me advice on how to cope with it until he could get out to my house. He even gave me advice on what to do with regards to insurance. Never having had something go wrong with any home before and never having had any dealings with insurance companies before either (other than giving THEM money), I was in a bit of a flap. Patrick was super calm, super reassuring and super helpful. In such a situation what more could you ask?
Patrick and his crew made me their first call the following morning and proceeded to spend 2.5 hours shoveling snow off my roof and melting the ice demons with fancy looking steam cannons. He then made visual inspections of all the roof gulleys and made sure the roof itself wasn't compromised. He also took many pictures for insurance purposes.
Patrick talked me through the whole process, explaining what his crew were doing, what they'd found and what would happen next. Knowing what to expect when the insurance company's nominated restoration company showed up was invaluable. Patrick's crew were also very nice, professional and hard working. They were up on my roof for 2+ hours in driving snow and just got on with it.
In summary, Patrick was excellent. A thoroughly nice, decent and honest person trying to do his best for a homeowner in need. I could not recommend him more highly. Thanks Patrick!

They arrived on time and did a thorough inspection of the roof with several photographs to support their recommendations.  They identified the probable source of the leak I had told them about, but it was such that it could not be sealed.  The recommendation was to replace the roof.  At my request they provided an estimate for the job which was very competitive with 2 other estimates I received.  Ultimately I decided to go with another company that has done excellent work on other houses in our neighborhood.

I purchased the Angie's List special for steam removal of ice dams, knowing I had a real mess on the roof--icicles were already beginning to form from eave vents. Chris not only answered his own phone (gasp!), but had a typed bid (via email) in my hands ASAP, and a crew to my house the same day (lucky timing on the crew, so please don't assume he will always be able to pull off such miracles). 
The crew was punctual, upbeat, and professional. Since my exterior spigots were turned off for the season, we had to run a hose from the laundry room (washing machine connection), out the front door to produce steam, but Phil (who led the crew) took care to pack drop cloths and plastic sheeting around the hose and front door, to prevent little critters from slipping in.
The front roof line and valleys took longer than expected, which meant needing to extend the time allotted. Phil immediately got Chris on the phone, who was more than fair in pricing an additional hour. Had an updated bid via email within minutes, and with my approval, things continued on.
When finished, the crew took care to clean up the area below the roof line to prevent ice problems on the ground. They scooped, salted, and made sure I was happy with the final results before departing. 
The process, from start to finish, was smooth, predictable, and efficient. When it comes time to gather bids for a new roof, Chris will be on the list. Great company, wonderful customer service, and terrific end result.
(P.S. If your driveway is snow covered to begin with, be sure to have ice melt/salt on hand. In spite of the thorough job they did putting salt down on the exposed surfaces before leaving, the area beneath their truck was solid ice, between drifting steam and melting runoff. You'll need to put down ice melt/salt of your own later that day or the following morning, to get rid of it. Not the crew's fault or oversight...just the nature of drifting steam landing on existing snow or ice.)

Patrick was honest and upfront about the pricing and timing of the job, and my cost when the job was complete was exactly as expected and what was communicated to me. The crew did an excellent job - thorough, professional, and efficient. I would highly recommend Patrick Miller Construction for ice dam removal!

My experience with this company was very positive. I originally purchased the Big Deal for the roof sealing and inspection. I had a feeling the roof might be in poor condition - and was right. Chris explained my options - to seal the damage temporarily or replace. He never pressured me to replace but with winter on its way, the timing was right.
Chris came to my house with selections for the roofing material. Again, he was extremely helpful in choosing the colors and materials. At that time, I explained I was never happy with the gutters or downspouts. We talked about it and decided it was a good time to replace those as well. I also choose the gutter guards since I have many big trees in my yard.
When the day came to replace the roof I had to work. However, Chris kept in constant contact with me, sending me pictures throughout the day so I could see their progress. Everything went very well. I was impressed with their work, clean up and overall professionalism. Chris even called me on installation day to suggest a different color for the gutters I had originally chose. He was right - the color he suggested was much better than my original choice.
They went above and beyond on a few things. There was some siding damage where the original roof was not installed correctly. They fixed this damage and had another contractor come in to replace the soffit on the back of the house (wood) which was leaking and rotting.
Overall, I couldn't be happier. The only one very small negative is I still have not received the material on the warranty for the roof. I'm sure the paperwork was lost someplace and I will be calling to ask the information to be sent (or resent).
I would certainly recommend this company for any roofing or gutter needs. 

Chris is very customer-oriented and a good communicator.  His attention to detail and focus on establishing rapport with a customer is much appreciated with a project this expensive.  I had confidence that the job was being done correctly, and I have not been disappointed. The members of the work crew were also very courteous and considerate, and did a thorough job of clean-up after the 3-day job was completed.  The company owner Patrick Miller showed up in the middle of the project, reiterated some of the details that Chris had, and wanted to be sure I was satisfied with the whole process.  I would use this company again, and I would recommend this company to my friends.

Very happy with the work. Patrick arrived on time, finished the inspection quickly, showed me the potential problems with a report. Didn't pressure me at all to do repairs right away.

The company rep who came out to inspect the roof for damage, told us that he didn't see any damage to the roof that was caused by the ice dams we had from the winter of 2010 - 2011 and that the interior water damage we had was more than likely caused by the bare wood that is underneath our gutters that should be covered by stucco. We also discussed other work we need to be done and the cause of some of our other issues with our home. There was no pressure to do anything immediately. He spent a lot of time with us on a late Friday afternoon and we have had contact over the phone and through email about getting our other issues resolved.

Patrick came out the very next day after we bought our $99 Angie's List deal.  He inspected everything, and repaired a few problem areas he found.  (Everything the deal said he'd do.)  Then he spoke at length about other things he saw, what to keep an eye out for in the future, etc.
And there was no sense at any time that he was "unintentionally" describing more work he "could" do -- if you've gotten that from sales people you know what i mean.  For example, there was one problem we thought we had, so we mentioned it to him so he could look at it.  This was something that, if it had been a problem, it was something his company could work on.  But after looking things over, he said, "No, that's not what's going on.  If it was you'd see this and this and this."  Then he described other things that could be going on, so we'd know what we were talking about if we ended up calling a different company.
So we're very happy.

There was a special for ninety-nine dollars for a certain amount of work on the roof but when he came out, he gave me an estimate for ten thousand dollars and said I needed to replace the whole roof. I basically just lost the ninety-nine dollars. They had wonderful customer service but I just felt like they were trying to upsell me on the roof. They had amazing customer service. They were very thorough as far as their language and their use of layman's term. They were good in that aspect.

I had difficulty getting them to my home.  They cancelled the first visit at the last minute, and then did not call back as promised to reschedule.  When they did come as scheduled the second day, the roofer seemed professional in his work and was very nice to deal with.  We talked about his doing another job, and he said he would e-mail me with an estimate.  I never got that.  When I answer "yes" to whether I would use the company again, it is just barely a "yes."

Patrick exceeded my expectations!  He and his crew did everything they said they would do and then some!  Patrick is very customer oriented and it is clear he wanted to do a great job!  My roof had some water damage that the crew repaired - they took tons of pictures to show me what the issue was and explained all repairs to me!  Patrick was very fair - more than fair - on the final bill as he kept to his original estimate even though they performed some extra work! 
I would and have already recommended Patrick to others - I will use him in the future on other jobs!

They were very prompt - calling us before we could call them.  We had to reschedule the work and inspection one time due to weather but they were back to do the work as soon as the weather permitted.  From what I was able to see from the ground, the work looked good.

Super professional from start to finish.  Didn't try to upsell or create unnecessary work.  Will definitely call them on any future roof work.
