It went really well. Barak called me and set up an appointment in a timely manner. Was realistic about what else it might happen and what it would possibly cost in addition to the deal. His quote was very realistic and below what others quotes I had had done. My ice dam corrected itself before the appointment took place and I was no longer in need of his service. I emailed him that I would no longer need the help and he was pleasant about it. I had a good experience with him even tho I did not need the service and would hire him for future work if I needed it.

I was very impressed with the fact that the work could not be performed so the owner suggested I request a refund as he wasn't able to perform the work. He could have just taken the money, but he was so very honest and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that.

When he arrived, he looked over the area and then explained what needed to be done and asked if that is what we wanted them to do.  Then they went to work removing snow from the roof to get to the ice dams.  They removed the ice dams and explained to us how to prevent them in the future and then cleaned up the area, put their tools away and left.

We are very satisfied with the work done.  They were very professional. I would recommend them.

When I looked up at my kitchen ceiling last weekend, my heart sank.  Water marks and bulging sheet-rock.  I knew we had a serious ice dam, but we've had them before and gotten away with it.  (Maybe?)  Someone must have been looking over my shoulder because that very day Angie's List sent me a notification for a DEAL.  Two hours of ice dam removal; $140.00.  It all seemed very complicated, so instead I called my roofer.  He wanted $250 an hour with a minimum of $375.  I don't have that kind of money lying around just for the heck of it, so I decided that I could cope with an internet offer.  I was nervous about having to pay before I had even talked to the provider and gotten a feel for whether or not they would be competent and professional.  But $375 is a lot of money.  $140 -- not so much.  I grabbed it.
I work full-time, 5 days a week, so I have very little flexibility for home maintenance.  I mentioned that in my email to who I now know are New Again Deck Renewal.  Barak got in touch with me promptly to let me know that he would look at his schedule and see if he could match my possible week-day dates.  Two days went by and I started getting a little nervous.  But in those two days, he had managed to re-work his schedule so that he could do me on the weekend.  I was so relieved not to have to weasel time off from my job.
He showed up exactly on time.  There was a lot of futzing to be done because my outdoor faucet was frozen.  He did all he could do to open it up, but it just couldn't be done.  So we had to move the project to the other faucet, which fortunately was free.  He stayed calm, cool, collected and kind during a lot of nerve-racking horsing around on the part of the homeowner (me).
They have all the right equipment, nerves of steel on icy ladders, and total professionalism -- even with the time crunch I had caused -- to be sure that the job was done right.
I hope some day I need a deck and then a deck renewal so that I can hire them again.  I'm not silly enough (quite yet) to be hoping for another ice dam.  They even gave me their professional advice on how to avoid future ice dams, so I may never see them again.  All I can do is recommend them to everyone I know personally and hope that my review brings them some new business.  If their deck renewals are as professional and painless as their ice dam removals, they are the best in the business.

Work was performed well & quickly.  Paid more for the job but Barak was VERY HONEST and said that the time/work needed would not cost as much as I had paid.  Very professional, easy to work with and honest which is very important to me.  Thank you Barak!

The company was easy to work with and was punctual.  They do not charge for set-up time which took about 15 minutes  They only charge for whatever time it takes them to complete the work.  I felt they worked hard and were professional.  I would hire them again.

The ice dam was removed. However, the apron below the dam (and in front of my back door) was left with a film of ice. Barak told me he had run out of ice melt on his previous job.
Communication on timing could have been better. We agreed to a date by e-mail, but not a time. I wasn't called about timing until 8:47 AM the day of the service.

They were late, but such is the case when they're booking appts over the phone and don't know what they're walking into, ice dam wise (we were the 2nd appt of the day). Barak let us know that he was running late, however.  Once they were there, all went smoothly and quickly.

They did an excellent and thorough job.  They were pleasant and easy to work with.  Barak analyzed the job and came up with the most effective solution for our problem.  The cost was very reasonable.  Highly recommended.

Barak is a true professional and a great person to work with.   I needed someone to remove a sizable ice dam that was causing my roof to leak.   As soon as Barak arrived, he assessed the area then immediately went to work.  Within 2 hours the dam was gone plus he had raked the majority of my roof.  I'm thrilled with his work as well as his pricing.  I enthusiastically recommend him.

Every aspect of the project went well. Barak and his associate arrived on a timely basis, gave me a candid estimate of the work involved, and proceeded to do their work in fine fashion. Barak is a very engaging fellow. What more could you ask for? Quality workmanship, fair pricing, and a cordial work environment.

"Hello Sir, Last year it was very busy for us and I'm sorry that we didn't had the time to get to your project. On 2014 I'm hoping to expand my company that more customer can use my services. I hope we can work together next spring. Thanks Barak"

We used somebody else. I wasn’t impressed. His name is Barak Brodni. I got him from Angie's List because I needed somebody for the decks to replace the boarding on the deck. I decided not to use him. I asked him if he was licensed. His response was that this was a remodel so he didn’t need a license. So I was a little bit put off with that. He came out fairly soon. The quote probably followed within a week of his coming out. I just didn’t feel as comfortable going with him in terms of some red flags that came up when he came out to do the inspection. It might have been a cultural difference. The pricing was fair and reasonable. I would have liked to have a little bit more reassurance because being licensed by the state of Minnesota because he was doing work is important to me. I just felt that it was just a bluff answer. He could have given me some people that he had done work for. I would have felt comfortable if he had given me a list of references. I could have just moved on with him. But it was just the way he answered the question about was he licensed. I felt that it was a little bit more roundabout. I would consider getting a quote from him; I would give it another shot.
Response from New Again Deck Renewal Inc
"Thank you for your comments. My response was straightforward and honest: I don't need a license to do a remodel in the state of Minnesota. That is no reflection on the quality of my work, only that the state doesn't require a license for remodels. I would have been happy to give you a list of references if you had asked; I don't routinely hand out lists of references but do keep a list in case someone asks. If you have questions or would like to hire me in the spring, please let me know and I will send you a list of references. Barak"

My phone call was responded to first - within a day or two.  I was told I couldn't be helped before the end of the season.  However, he didn't even ask me what my project was.  I think he thought I wanted a fence built.  Nope. Already have a fence, just want to see how much it would be to stain it.
My email wasn't replied to for about a week.  Then he was offering to come out and offer a bid.  I told him I spoke to him on the phone last week and told me I couldn't be helped.
What a frustrating interaction.

Response from New Again Deck Renewal Inc
"Dear Customer, I'm very sorry that your experience with my company was frustrating. My services are weather-dependent, and this fall was especially unpredictable. When we talked for the first time on Oct. 1, I had 10 jobs to complete and was sure I would not be able to take more jobs for the year. However, then we had some sunny days that allowed me to finish my jobs, and I saved your email in case I'd have time to get to your estimate. I contacted you again because I had hoped to get to your fence before the cold weather hit; unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. I'm sorry for the confusion, and I hope you will give me another chance to serve you in Spring 2014; if so, you will receive 25% off your next project. Thank you for your feedback, as it is very valuable to me. Sincerely, Barak Brodni Owner, New Again Deck Renewal"

The provider did a great job of staying in communication through the process of trying to fit us into the schedule.  Then when it was time to perform the work it was done well and on time.  I would recommend this provider to others.

The team was very punctual and thorough.  After the cleaning, our 15 year old deck looked like fresh lumber.  Barak followed up to see if any spots were missed.  His team came out the next day for a small spot on a post and spent some time dealing with areas that to my eye already looked fine.

We received timely response to our request for bid.  Barak was very thorough in explaining his detailed findings after surveying the work sites.  Multiple steps were required to prepare the deck surfaces to overcome results of previously applied incorrect products. Preparation included power washing and sanding using superior heavy duty machines.  New finish was expertly applied using a beautiful color and stain materials Barak selected.  We are so pleased that we accepted his recommendations.
For the retaining wall, Barak power washed the wall and the concrete steps and walkway. We asked Barak for his recommendations for changing the color of the wall from a dark color to a much lighter color.  Again, we followed Barak's ideas that resulted in the look we were seeking.
During all of the work, Barak and his crew worked tirelessly together to produce quality work and keep the work sites neat and clean.  The crew members back checked each other to ensure quality work throughout.
We recommend him and will definitely use him in the future.

It went very well.  Barak is the company owner and he came out for the estimate.  We have a lot of plants and landscaping under our deck so I wanted to be sure I understood what precautions his workers would take during cleaning and staining.  Barak explained the steps in detail and assured me they would cover our plants, pavers, etc.
There was a minor mixup on our start date with another client and so they started later in the year than I expected but that was the only hiccup.  The cleaning and staining went great and I'm very happy with the final result.  Barak was on-site for most of the project and he helped with the work which I appreciated.

Great experience.  We emailed Barak early in the spring for an estimate which he provided right away.  As we were not in a hurry for the work to be done we waited until late summer to be put on the schedule for fall.  Barak followed up until the work could be done and called ahead with the day for power washing and the day for staining which was nice because we could notify the neighbors.  They showed up on time, completed the job and left absolutely no mess when they were done.  Very polite and professional.  I HIGHLY recommend Barak and his team at  New Again Deck.  We will definitely use them in the future!

The difference is REMARKABLE...Barak's team completely transformed the weathered, grey cedar into warm-tone glowing wood. Looks fabulous.  Barak was very easy to communicate with via email, and there was no need at all to be home for pressure washing on day 1 and staining on day 2.  He and the team were basically careful around our rain garden (newly-installed, so the plants are still tender & getting established...it's fully in the way of the fence so there were a few relatively minor bumps), and everything was cleaned up too, no trash or packaging at all remained when the job was done.

We have a redwood deck that is 22 years old and was sorely in need of a new stain job.  I looked on Angie's List and was most taken with New Again Deck Renewal.  The company was rated very high and it said he did not spray on the stain, but put it on by hand.  Contacted Barak in May and he got us a bid within a couple of days.  It took us a while to make a decision to use Bark as my husband wanted to get another bid - which coincidentally was twice the amount - so we got back to him I think at the end of June or so.  Barak was honest and said because of the late spring and the wet June he was running behind, but we decided to wait....and it was so worth it.  Our deck looks absolutely beautiful!  It looks almost brand new again!!
I would recommend him to anyone who needs to have their deck redone.
