Ma and Paws Critter Care is owned and operated by Chera & Travis Engstrom. Right now they are the only sitters working for the company. We come by for a free 'Meet & Greet' visit to meet any new clients and thier pets. We do not bill, we just ask for a payment on our first visit. Our cat Frisco is older and ornery and doesn't always warm up to folks. When Chera and Travis came for their initial meet and greet, Frisco walked right up to introduce himself to Chera. Since then we use them for pet sitting needs whenever we go out of town. Frisco does so much better staying at home versus a boarding establishment. They are dependable and we truly value and trust their services! Once when I went out of town, I forgot if I left a bowl of fresh water. I called Ma and Paws for an impromptu visit and they were glad to help to check and see if I left water. They are awesome, and I highly recommend them!

We're hesitant to leave a review about our awesome dog walker/dog sitter as we we're not sure if we want anyone else to know how awesome she is...but life is short, and it's much better with a dog or two and a great dog walker.
Daily Visits-Dog Walking
Chera visits us twice a week to give our two dogs a lunchtime walk or play time. She always shows up. Every time. Whether there's a blizzard, or it's 100 degrees or if it's just a perfect day, she will show up. You'll know she's visited, as she will leave a quick note about the day's visit - if something is off - she'll include this in her message. The dogs know her, they listen to her, they are happy to see her. It is absolutely wonderful to know you've got someone you can depend on to visit your dogs and who is always looking out for their best interest and someone you can trust in your home.
Overnight Stays-Dog Sitting
So on the rare occasion we actually vacation together, we need someone to take care of our dogs. We really only looked at one option, our awesome dog walker. Taking care of two medium-large dogs for several days is not really something you want to pressure your friends into helping out, especially if they only see your dogs once in a while, or if you're always the dogs' caretaker, or if you have needy dogs. Using Ma & Paws for in home dog sitting is the perfect solution. Our dogs already know and love Chera, she's already familiar with our home and we trust her. We would have spent a lot more time worrying if other people were taking care of them - Chera was the perfect solution. Plus she picks up the mail and opens/closes blinds, keeps the house looking occupied.

We kept in touch by texting. All reports from Chera and Travis were very positive, and we could tell by their descriptions of our pets' behavior that they had spent time to get to know their personalities while we were away. I could tell they were animal lovers from the initial meet and greet before we left town. They collected all the important info from us (vets, food, medications, etc.). They are young enough to be able to properly exercise or walk your dog if needs to burn off energy, but old enough to have complete trust in them. One of the reasons we called them originally was because they had such high ratings on Angie's List, and after finding their website and that they don't charge an additional fee for each added animal, we contacted them.
I would have no reservations recommending them to watch your beloved critters if you have a need for pet-sitting, they did an excellent job for us.

It was a delight to do a meet and greet with Chera and Travis a week before they were scheduled to pet sit for my furry kids. They were timely, professional, organized and above all else excited to greet and meet my two cats. One is very friendly and meet them at the door, the other was cautious of these strangers, so they gave her the room she needed to feel comfortable around them, and introduced themselves from a "safe" distance. By the end of the visit I was totally comfortable that my pets and my home were going to be in good hands with Chera and Travis. I loved the communication after each visit while I was out of town. It gave me peace of mind that all was well at the house and apparently by the second visit even my shy kitty was looking for some love from Travis.
This is the first time I've ever hired a pet sitting company and I was very pleased with their service and pricing. Thank you to other Angie's List customers for your reviews about Ma and Paws Critter Care, it was very helpful to me to decide to give this option a try.I have already booked them for future visits and am looking forward to the peace of mind that I will have while out of town.

Ma & Paws critter care has been our "go to" cat and house sitter for the past three years. We don't travel much but when we do we always use Chera and Travis. They are wonderful to work with and very dependable. Vacations are so much better when you don't have to worry about what is going on at home!

We have used Ma and Paws Critter Care on more than 1 occasion. I found them online in 2009 when I needed to find someone to care for my 3 cats while on my honeymoon of 3 weeks. I have a cat which is on a special diet and gets fed measured food twice a day. Chera and Travis both came for the "meet and greet" of the kitties. I felt very comfortable having them in my home and they took notes on each cat and its personality, etc. While we were gone, they also watered the plants. Part of their duties are to clean the litter boxes and they also cleaned the water fountain we have for the cats. I was very impressed. They also took our garbage can down on the appropriate day since kitty litter in a hot garage is not pleasant when left for more than a week. They checked in via text or email at least once while we were gone with a status report and that the cats had quickly gotten used to them. I also used them this past summer when we took our vacation. I think Chera spends more time playing with them than I do and she leaves a detailed report on the last visit before our return, and always notes how our Nikita loves to play with the laser light. It is fun for us to have them send birthday cards to the cats and it always includes a coupon for a free visit, which is really appreciated. We will definitely use them again and I refer others to them when I can.

Chera and Travis were outstanding! Very professional and organized. They met with us before the date and took notes on the details of each cat and their habits. They made sure to see each cat each day, even the one hiding under the bed, to make sure all were ok.

Chera & Travis did an absolutely outstanding job sitting for my 1.5 year old Morkie. I had boarded him at a well known and well run doggy spa once before (for 2 nights) and I could tell it was traumatic for him. I wanted to provide him with the most stress-free option available as I was going to be out of town for 10 days. Ma & Paws Critter Care exceeded my expectations. I came home to find a very happy and stress-free dog!! I will definitely use Ma & Paws for all my future pet sitting needs.

Excellent care! Very professional. Met with us ahead of time to be absolutely clear about all the details & needs. They were equally comfortable with both our large & small dogs, as well as the cat : ) Provided temendous peace of mind knowing our "kids" were safe & well cared for in their own home rather than locked in a kennel somewhere. I would definitely recommend them!

I was away for about 5 days. When I came home the cats were ticked at me (arent' they always?) but clearly well cared for and glossy of fur (Chera had brushed them every day, as well). I have no hesitation about leaving the cats in her care at any time. This episode confirmed the (ultimately) good experience when Ma & Paws cared for them when I was out of town the year before.

The only problem, access for Chera's first visit, was caused by me, and was solved by a neighbor (my emergency contact) and Chera working together. Otherwise the cats loved Chera, and I found all very well when I returned. I will certainly call Ma & Paws again, and I have been assured they will not let the rocky start deter further services.

It was a pleasure to meet Chera and we could tell she took the job very seriously. When we arrived home the cats were happy and the fish and flowers were thriving. It was reassuring to know that things were being taken care of while we were gone...made for a much less stressful time away from home. They checked on our house/cats five times over the week we were gone. We will DEFINITELY use them again.

I called Ma & Paws Critter care to care for my elderly cat with digestive issues. She is on a lot of medication and takes it though a Peg Tube, so I didn't want just "anyone" watching her. I spoke with Chara, one of the owners and arranged for her to meet with my girl and go over everything. She arrived promptly and was great with my cat. My cat is not very open to strangers, so the fact that she warmed up immediately to Chera was impressive. We had her watch Taz for 9 days which included giving her food, love, medicine, watering the plants and bringing in our mail. She offered other services as well. We were VERY impressed when we returned. Our house was kept neat and tidy, our cat was happy and well fed and all of our plants were still alive! She left us a detailed report about how Taz did and while we were gone, I called her to check in and she returned my call immediately. I would HIGHLY recommend Chera and Travis.
