They have really good hands on customer service and excellent quality products particularly if you are an allergy sufferer. They have products and explanations for them and show you why some of the stuff they have are better for those who suffer from allergies. It seems to have made a difference and it doesn't seem to be as bad. It definitely cleans everything a lot better. I started looking online and then they were able to show me in the store that basically almost any vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter would put in an average week of vacuuming about a minimum of 13 million particles back into the air and they have something that would not put anywhere near that. They have very competitive prices and were the best price. They were very responsive

They were competitive, convenient and they did the job well. I called them on the telephone and took the sewing machine in. It was ready when they said it would be. They were clean, friendly and polite and understood what they were going to do and did it well.

It was great. I dropped off my sewing machine and it was repaired by the next day. I used it for an hour on Saturday and it is working normally again. Great service!

They did a wonderful job. Our 2 year old decided he needed to take all the shredded paper out of the shredder and put it all over the floor. Our Dyson completely plugged up. I took it in for repair and gave them the Angie's List coupon. They told me it'd be ready in 2 days. It was ready the next day! And, even though the service wasn't up to the minimum amount for the coupon, they gave me the discount anyway. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I was told it may take a few days for the repair, however, i received a phone call less than 24 hours later letting me know everything was ready to be picked up. WOW!

They are excellent. He is the most honest man I have ever met and he is a very knowledgeable mechanic. He can do anything you need. He even went out of his way to find all the missing parts so that my daughter could have everything she needed for the sewing machine. He is so honest that he will even recommend a used vaccuum cleaner over a new one if it will better suit your need. He will never steer a customer wrong.

This service place is really good. I will use this provider again.

I dropped off my machine on 2/27/12. Repair was completed on 2/29/12. I picked it up on 3/31/12 and tested repairs. At first, the machine feed didn't seem to be working. But I fiddled with the foot pressure and got it working. After testing all stitches, found the repair to be okay. Repair successful.

It was close to where we live. What I liked is that I could drop it off and go shopping. The people that worked there were very friendly. It was just a great place to go. I feel very confident in what he did. What stood out was there familiarity with my machine. It was not a show, it was generally who they were.

I was using my Necchi sewing machine last weekend when it jammed up. I cleared the jam, but it still wasn't working smoothly. In trying to get it working again the needle broke off, which is when I decided to call in the professionals. I brought it to Johnston's, explained what was wrong, asked them to do a full cleaning and tune-up as well as perform any necessary repairs. It turns out the cleaning, tune-up and normal adjustments were all that was needed. My machine is running smoothly again. I dropped off the machine first thing Tuesday morning. They expected to get to it that afternoon or first thing the next day, and said they'd give me call when it was done. By Friday I still hadn't heard anything, so I called them. The machine was done and the price was exactly as they had estimated. I'm happy with the work and will do business with them again.

I took my Singer sewing machine in for repair rather than throwing it away (like I wanted to). He immediately knew what was wrong, explained what repairs were needed. The machine was to be ready in 3 or 4 days. To my surprise, he called the next day to say it was ready. I was expecting the repairs to cost more than they did. It runs fine now, so I'll keep it for awhile longer!

The bobbin was fixed and service performed in one day, and Mr. Johnston offered some good advice about the machine when I picked it up. I am extremely satisfied with the work.

I took in my vacuum for a cleaning. I was charged $50 for replacement filters and a tightened belt. The vacuum was not cleaned and a part is missing. The sales guy told me the vacuum should be serviced but it wouldn't be worth the $50-100 for service on my mediocre vacuum and that I should buy his highly recommend $700 vacuum. I told him I can't afford the Cadillac version right now and my Eureka will have to do.

My sister's first professional sewing machine -- a White -- is 40 years old but so well made that it was well worth a tune-up for me. Johnston's cleaned and tuned up and tested it, replaced worn parts and adjusted it. He also told me that it would run "forever," threaded it for me as I needed a "refresher," and said that if I had trouble finding the bobbins it used, that I could get more from him. He told me he could have it ready the next day and that if there was a problem, he'd call. It was ready on time. I noted that he did vacuums too; I'm moving to the other end of the metro, next month, but I will bring my vacuum to him.

First I called to see if he serviced Rainbow vacuums. He said he could look at it but didn't have parts in stock. He didn't think many places in town would, but gave me the name ane number of another shop to check out. He was so nice about it that I told him I also had a Kenmore canister vacuum that needed a new plug end of the cord. He told me the only cost effective thing to do was to put a new plug on because a new cord reel would be cost prohibitive (about $100). I took the vacuum out to his shop and he fixed it while I waited so that I wouldn't have to come back. He checked to see if I needed any bags - which I did - and the new plug and bags came to $13. It's nice to see that good service and reasonable prices aren't gone forever!

My 10 year old Miele canister vac stopped working (it had electrical power to the power head but no suction) - this was the first repair I've needed for this vacuum. I took it to Johnston's and Brian diagnosed it correctly immediately (motor brushes). Timely repair, customer focused & reasonable prices. I highly recommend him.

I've been a customer of this business for over 10 years. The owner is very knowledgeable, friendly, and good at what he does. I have an in-home business where I need to vacuum a lot. I used to buy lower end vacuums, but they never lasted. This shop offers higher end vacuums that last much longer. The owner is very willing to spend time with you to determine your needs and make recommendations. I've been very happy with the two Riccar vacuums I've purchased. The service is great. At times, I've taken it in for a small problem and he has fixed it on the spot without charge. Other times, I get it serviced at reasonable costs within a reasonable time frame. The owner also fixed sewing machines and I've had mine serviced with the same high quality service he gives for vacuums.

They were very good and very reasonably priced. They called and told me when it was ready. He told me what he thought it was going to be and it was just what he said.

Overall experience was very good. They did exactly what they said they would do in the amount of time stated. No surprises...

I've only had good luck with this place. Great prices on vacuum bags. I've had some work done on my vacuum in the past and not only was it done sooner than he told me it would be but the price seemed very reasonable. If you're looking for a higher end vacuum and want to talk to someone extremely knowledgeable, go to Johnston's Sales & Service. You can't go wrong.

Johnstons gave a phone appraisal. It was taken in and promised the next day. Other repairs were needed and Johnstons called to confirm my agreement to continue with the additional repairs. The machine was repaired at a lower cost. It works very well.

Vacuum cleaner works great again after the service performed.
