I cannot recommend this service shop for auto repair. I brought my pickup truck there trying to have two intermittent/subtle engine problems addressed. The truck was in their shop for a total of three different visits. They replaced numerous parts, but none of them made any noticeable improvement on the engine problems. They actually added two new problems. Not only the engine had another third problem, but the mechanic accidentally backed the truck into another vehicle resulting in damage to the body. They were responsible about paying to have the body damage repaired. If you only need something basic performed, then this shop may be acceptable. However, if you are dealing with an intermittent problem or value your older vehicle, then you are better off looking elsewhere.

They then suggested a few different things in addition to consider. In the process of doing those items they fixed a noise issue that I hated and found a coupling that was dislodged and could have sunk the boat. Also instead of going for the $$$$ kill they suggest two other items but mentioned I should do them in spring. I appreciate honestly like that.

I brought my vehicle in because it was experiencing some braking issues. Upon the diagnostic it was not able to fully determine the issue but a few suggestions were presented to myself as well as few suggestions on some other issues that were presented. No charge was made by the simple diagnostics of the problem. I would recommend bringing my vehicle back here again because of the honest repair people not throwing parts in that are not needed just to see if it might fix the problem. I grew up in a small town and this repair shop gives me the small town feel with honest people behind the counter looking out in the best interest of their customers (new or returning) and not just padding their check books.

I offered to pay for their time and they wouldn't hear of it. In fact they told my high school daughter to come in anytime and they would check her fluids free of charge. Its a refreshing change to not feel like you're being taken advantage of at the mechanics.

Last night our little old 1998 Camry would not start and we are not car savvy folk. Called Gregg and Jim in the morning and within 15 mins they were in my driveway with a portable jump start battery doohickey. Hooked it up and car still would not turn. He then made an adjustment and roooooooar! Car starts up like a champ. Turns out the positive connector thingie was not properly secured, it was mangled in the battery installation we had done about a month ago and I feared it would need to be replaced as well. He told me I just need to tighten it in place and we were good to go. Only charged me for a quick service call of $45. It could have been much worse, if he didn't come out, we would have had it towed which would have cost us at least 4x the amount and hours more time. Thanks to them for being quick, honest and friendly! Highest of recommendation here!

They are really good. They are reasonable priced and very up front about things. He will call you before you do anything. It is pretty close to my house so they are convenient. They are good about letting you know what needs to be done and what doesn't.

The last company that worked on my boat installed the condensor part of the points incorrectly and fouled my spark plugs and it wouldn't start so they fixed it and it started several times very quickly so I'm happy!

It was a major work and it cost me $605. It was convenient for me to go to them. They were very friendly and informative. They made sure I knew what they were doing on my vehicle. I will use them again in the future.

I actually had 2 boats this year to winterize. My regular one, and a new one purchased half way through the season. The 1st one was a 1987 Forester I \ O Mercruiser that I have taken here for 10 years. I took it there the Friday before, and wasn't able to pick it up before closing, so they said it was ok to leave overnight until Sat morning for pickup. It wasn't used much, so they recommended I not change the oil, as it was only out 1-2 hours since last year's oil change with winterization. Spent about $130 on this one. The newer boat was a 2007 Moomba Inboard. They serviced both boats during the day dropped as promised. Newer one needed more antifreeze mixture for 3 ballast bags, plus oil change. I have checked around every year for winterizing and everyone else wants $250-$350 for exactly what I got. The service is superb. They check your lower unit lube for color (dirty) while you wait when you drop, to see if it needs to be changed. Very quick on this. In the past they have made recommendations on other things needed, that could be done in the spring if needed (blower motor out one year, etc.). Their rates are superior to anything I've checked into. Of course this could be done yourself, but if you factor in your time, this service is worth my money. I would highly recommend the boat winterization services here. You need to call for an appointment, because word of mouth keeps them hopping in late Sept through October. They also offer to start it and flush it out in the spring with your receipt - and it doesn't cost anything extra. Good for the lakes!

I went in for an oil leak and an oil change. They provided the necessary services, but more importantly, they stopped me from spending a fortunes on expensive repairs and helped me determine a realistic path to getting rid of my car before it became a bigger problem. They held onto my car for several days to test the effectiveness of their solution. They stayed in contact with me and they charged me a remarkably affordable fee. They had a real opportunity to rip me off here and they didn't. They were totally professional, helpful and honest.

They are very, very honest. There have been a number of times when my car has acted up and they have had it for a day, or so and they didn't charge me at all because they hadn't found what was wrong yet. They take me to work and pick me up when they have my car. They really go out of their way. It is the best service I have had anywhere.

We had my son's 1996 Mercury Sable towed to Gregg and Jim's. They did the repair and ran into a problem with the anti-theft system. Gregg was very good at communicating what went on. The anti-theft system was a real puzzler, and he reached out to a friend in Two Harbors who suggested what turned out to be the solution. This after a locksmith had been called to reprogram a key, and use his diagnostics that said there was no problem. It turned out to be an electrical problem with the ring antenna. Gregg was a good detective, and didn't charge us for the extra time he put in.

Their prices seem to be fair. The service was well planned and they delivered as they promised. They were clear and explained everything they did, also kept the parts that were replaced to show me. I stand by them, they are good and I feel they are very honest.
