Fun City Dogs

It went absolutely awesome... Great staff, great prices. Also my dog seems to love the staff as much as they love him

We don't overnight him very often it usually daycare. I think it's like $5 an hour or $25 for the day and the day can be from like 6 am to 8 pm so it's a h*ll of a deal if you take the whole day. They don't nickel dime you on the time. The staff there are very good about knowing and remembering your dog and if anything out of the ordinary that happens during the day they'll tell you about it. And they are very patient at least with me because sometimes it will happen that I get sort of caught somewhere and can't there promptly by 8 pm which is closing time for daycare and they're very gracious about letting me show up 10 or 15 or 20 or even more minutes late without putting my dog on the street. And they don't require for daycare, you don't need an appointment or reservation or anything like that. You just show up whether you show up at 6 am or 3 pm they don't care. And the staff seem to be good people not surprisingly they like dogs. I have recommended them to family and friends and I say that it's a great place and the dog likes it. Wants to go there and they take good care of him. They also do some grooming there. They're very good about fitting that in during the daycare. The pricing for the grooming is competitive. We've talked to other groomers around this part and they are competitive and we're very satisfied.

We have used them for boarding also not just day care and they are very nice. He has a good time when we he boards overnight. They have ratty old couches winding around so they think they have died and gone to heaven because Buddy very rarely gets on the couch at home unless we let him, where at Fun City, its all couch all the time. They have a doggy cam so you can watch your dog goofing around with other dogs when you are away.

Their are competitive. They are good. They have good staff there. They take good care of the beasties. The staff are very friendly. They are familiar with the dogs.  You feel like it's not just another animal leaving with somebody with no name. They greet him well and he is very happy to see them. They are very accommodating. You are supposed to pick your dog up before 8 pm at the latest from day care. When I sometimes get behind the 8 ball and don't get there until 8:15 or 8:30, they are very gracious about accommodating him and not yelling at me or not charging me extra. Very dog friendly. I think they are friendlier than the average.

What I love is all the staff is so nice and they know my dogs by name. Will even tell me any issues or concerns. Like recently one of my dogs had blood in his stool and they noticed it. Attached Colby Jack before his grooming and after. :-)

She was good. It was a good experience. We’ve been happy with it.

I completed their online email contact form and, when I didn't hear back, called and left a message. I never heard back regarding setting up an on-site visit. So no services have been performed. I can't evaluate anything other than responsiveness.

Dog came back not too short

Continue to use day care services for my dog; he loves it and they are very patient with him. We love that we can watch him on the web cam while at work and check on how he's getting along with other dogs. He always comes home worn out!

The daycare leaves our dog pleasantly tired and well behaved, the grooming makes her look her best, and the boarding allows us to get away without any worries as to her safety. Every time we arrive the staff recognizes our dog and calls her by name. Our dog is equally pleased to see the staff and runs to greet them. I feel so lucky that we found this place. Daycare in the winter is a must and the ability to add grooming to her stay simplifies our lives.
There are really only two things that I am not 100% pleased about, but feel these items are beyond the staff's control: 1) The barking is quite loud and intense at certain pick up times; and 2) Sometimes our dog comes home a bit smelly. I suppose that's part of the dog daycare business and will certainly forgive these minor issues in exchange for the happy dog I receive at pick up time.
Keep up the good work Fun City Dogs!!! We will come back again and again.

Great! Our dog, Max, loves Fun City Dogs. He tried other doggy daycares and wasn't sure about staying when we drop him off. But Max loves Fun City Dogs. When we drop him off, a caretaker takes his leash and he doesn't look back! We started going to Fun City Dogs in June. We try to take him at least 2 days a week. He loves having access to the kiddie pool outside! He gets to interact with lots of dogs. In August, we took a vacation and left Max at Fun City Dogs for 6 days and 5 nights. It is perfect for him. They have someone on staff 24 hours a day. Once all the dogs for doggy daycare go home by 8pm, the dogs staying overnight move to a big room with lots of couches and a big screen TV. One of the caretakers stays the night with them. The dogs are never crated or caged or left by themselves. Max has a bit of separation anxiety and doesn't do well when left alone. We were very worried about boarding him at a facility where he would be by himself for more than 12 hours a day. We were ecstatic when we discovered Fun City Dogs! Max was very tired when we picked him up after 5 days but we knew he had been well cared for.

I used them from 4/14 to 4/18. It was $35 per day. It is an open space and each dog is not kenneled. There are three different areas when they keep dogs of different temperaments. Somebody is there with them overnight. They were great. We've used them multiple times. They were very willing to work with our dog that had some behavior issues. They were very patient with her. It is a great place for dogs to go.

I highly recommend this place. My dog loves it. I can bring him there for a few hours or an extended stay. The staff are very good with the dogs. I have a difficult time trimming his nails, so I have been having them do it with no problems. Also, they have a great package deal-buy 10 days and get an 11th free. I really like the overnite stays for him-not being put in a kennel, but being able to sleep on a couch (just like at home)

The staff were very friendly to me and kind to the dogs. Three things bothered me. (1) The facility is all concrete, so barking is deafening. I know barking happens in any dog daycare, but the space seemed to make it particularly loud. (2) Because there are three play areas, I don't think at current staffing levels it's possible for a staff member to be in each play area and another person to staff the front desk. I fear this means that peeing indoors (see next point), h******, and fights are not cleaned up after/prevented as much as one would hope. (3) On the way home, I noticed a distinct odor in the car, sort of like the odor in a badly maintained nursing home (urine meets disinfectant). I leaned over and smelled my dog's coat. The smell of the place was on the dog's fur and it was not good. My dog has stayed at other daycare places without carrying a smell away from them. The prices are competitive, and the people are nice. Cleanliness and sufficient staffing seem to be "growing edges."

Overall, everything went great! I really like all the staff at Fun City Dogs, and Ryanne (the owner) is approachable, kind, and of course is great with dogs. My sometimes nervous dog loves it there, and they are so sweet to him. He comes home tired and happy, but not exhausted or stressed. No odors either! My dog has been to a couple of other dog day cares/boarding facilities in the Twin Cities area, and he never seemed as comfortable at those as he is at Fun City Dogs. The only possible issues I've noticed are that the dogs seem to bark a fair amount and sometimes it takes a little time for them to come up front. But none of that seems to bother my dog, which is the most important thing. Finally, their prices are in line with those at other, similar facilities in the area.

This is an update, a year and a half after my first report. I have nothing but good things to say about Fun City Dogs. Even the barking is less, and the staff is now always ready to take my dog back in the morning and to bring him up front when I arrive to pick him up. Most important, my dog LOVES it there, and since I wrote my first report, they've added grooming services and web cams: perfect. I have no worries about my dog whether he's at Fun City Dogs just for a day of play or for a week of boarding. The staff are uniformly nice, and my dog gets excited about arriving well before we've turned into the driveway of Fun City Dogs. I appreciate their loving, professional care of my boy.
