Dave's Landscape Services

Although we ended up going with a different company for our job, I want to give a shout out to Dave. He was so great to work with for a consultation - he spent extra time with us trying to get to the right solution for our needs (not the most expensive). Very genuine and professional. It was a difficult decision we made not to go with him. I would definitely consider him in the future.

OK service, not always punctual.

Very well. The estimator was prompt, knowledgeable and provided us with an estimate immediately. The work was performed and they were extremely patient with my many questions.

They do an excellent job.

Rebuilding is always more difficult than doing the original project. Dave patiently worked to retain the original brickwork design of our front walk while restoring and improving the old foundation and underlayment work. The result was a front walkway that gave safe access to our home with enhanced curb appeal.

We could not be happier with Dave. He is smart, professional, creative and responsive. He has our highest recommendation! The patio he did for us is now 4 years old and has held up beautifully.

Excellent, couldn't be better.  There doesn't seem to be a job that he can't do, and can't do to perfection.  Landscape design and installation, landscape maintenance, fence building and repairs, patio building, gutter and downspout maintenance -- he does it all, does it right and does it promptly.

He was excellent.  I have used him for at least five years and he has become a friend.  He is a friend of a friend.  He has been around between cities at one time and he does a lot of work for people.

I contacted Dave because I needed a fence and some landscaping work done around my front entryway area.  Initially we had some trouble connecting because we both have busy schedules and Dave was traveling.  When Dave arrived to look at the job, he was prompt, he asked good questions, and provided several good suggestions for the area.  He emailed me a very reasonably priced estimate for the work.  The estimate did not provide a lot of details, but it certainly would have been enough for me to make a decision.  In the end we did not hire Dave - or anyone else - to do the work.  We simply decided to hold off on this work.

He is very good at a lot of landscaping tasks. In the winter, he writes how-to books. He is willing to do whatever I need done, and he's good at it. He is a very multi-talented man. He is always very busy.

Dave had some very helpful ideas about saving some of our shrubs and replacing some that were too bad to be pruned back to shape. He ended up having to do more work than we had thought because of a drainage problem with our downspout and sump pump hose, but he kept working on the project until it was finished, even thought it meant much more time had to be spent on it. He cleaned up the areas where he worked and the patio stones look great. We're not finished with the project yet. In the spring he's going to plant a tree and put in the new shrubs, as well as prune our old shrubs so they get some shape back. Dave was very helpful with suggestions and does very good work. His costs were very reasonable and even though we had extra work that we hadn't counted on, the cost was still low. I'd recommend Dave as a good person to work with and someone who does good work.

Excellent. Dave is an EXTREMELY careful and conscientious person. He is very busy, but was able to fit me in between larger jobs. He is always personable, professional, efficient, and trustworthy. I have used him for several years. He has always done an excellent job. If there are any problems, he is promptly back to remedy the issue. Highly satisfied. Honestly, I am afraid to add him to the List. He will be even more popular and I wont be able to use him again!! (but he more than deserves as many customers as he can get)

I couldn't believe how unprofessional & unresponsive the landscapers I had tried to work with (prior to Dave) were. Meeting Dave was a breath of fresh air. He knows what he's doing & gets down to it. I would have never found him had he not been recommended on Angie's List. Nice job, Dave!

Dave was flexible in scheduling time to meet to talk about the upcoming work, and as usual, had a number of options, given our concern for ensuring that our beautiful silver maple received enough water, even with the installation of a cobble stone patio (about 150 sq. feet or so large). He was open to our ideas and when consulted, he gave us the pro's and con's of different options. Dave's work was meticulous and when my spouse returned home after a few days away, he had a new cobble stone patio! It was amazing to see the small cobble stone pieces that Dave and his trusty assistant, Ian, had cut to fit snugly and pleasingly among the whole stones. It is simply beautiful! We've already bought chairs and drug plants to rest on the patio, and we've really been enjoying our new outdoor space beneath the shade of the silve maple. We've recommended Dave to a friend, and he, too, can't say enough good things about Dave and his work. Dave will be back next year!

Dave met with us to discuss options (encounters with him are always educational), and thereafter, worked a couple of half-days to prepare the ground, and a full day to purchase plants, lay the border stones, plant, lay soaker hoses, and mulch.
