The insulation and duct work were both done very professionally. I am very pleased with their work. I have recommended Century Insulation to my friends. Spray foaming the rim joists made a huge difference in the comfort of our home. It seems less drafty and more quite. The basement rooms that had the spray foam applied made those living rooms feel much more comfortable.

Bad. I contacted them through a craigslist add, they told me they are an insulation and HVAC company but they have done "100s" of these bathroom fan installations. I just needed the fan installed in the ceiling and I needed it vented through the roof. First issue - the installation of the fan in my ceiling. They butchered the plaster ceiling and created a large hole that I had to patch. They drove a mounting screw through the electrical box of the fan. They didn't actually mount the fan to a joist in my attic - all the screws (except the one that was driven through the electrical box) are driven through the lathe behind the plaster of the ceiling. Oh....also...one of the guys stepped on a light fixture box in my attic and now part of my ceiling is falling down. Second issue - venting the fan. We had agreed that they would vent the fan through my roof, but when I got home to inspect their work I found they did not add a roof vent. They vented the fan through an existing attic vent....which is...you know....meant for venting my attic, not a bathroom fan. When I called them to voice my concerns they at first tried to convince me they actually did vent it properly. It became clear to me that they knew what they were doing was wrong, they just hoped I didn't notice. They eventually sent someone back to install the proper type of vent in my roof, but they were pretty cranky about it. That guy dropped a sawsall off my roof, almost hit his helper, made quite the loud noise. Overall - they had no idea what they were doing and have no business installing bathroom fans. They should stick to blowing insulation in attics.

"I am disagreeing with this entire review. First issue is, you have a lathe and plaster ceiling, lathe and plaster do not cut evenly. You have small boards behind your plaster that vibrate when cutting and large chunks of plaster can crack. We did agree to vent through roof, which we did. You already had a vacated existing roof vent for a bath fan (not a roof vent as stated). We reused the existing vent, with the correct adapter and ensured the dampener works properly. Most customers want the least amount of holes through their roof. (Your entire statement about this is false) I did explain this to you on the phone and you requested a new one be used and we vacate the existing one. I sent a crew over there for a second time and they installed a new one. You were crawling through your attic for days and then called me back almost a week to the date to say we pushed on a light. In most cases I would not argue and just fix all issues, but you sir have been extremely unfair and disparaging about my crew and company. I feel no matter what would have been done you would not have been happy. I am sorry things did not work out as expected but to make false assumptions and then write an untrue review is extremely unfair to the hard working people at our company. I don't usually try to come across as hostile in responses to reviews, I understand that we as a company make mistakes and I appreciate constructive criticism as we always want to do better. I just feel it is unfair that we can perform 500+ installs a year and only receive 3 good reviews and 1 bad review (which doesn't correctly state the issues)."

Century came to my house and inspected the attic and said I'd get an estimate the next day to remediate insulation issues. I didn't receive an estimate. I responded with emails and was told that they were moving to a new office and hence the delay. I was then promised the estimate within a day and over a month later - no estimate. This is not how I would do business with a customer. I have since had a different company take care of my insulation issues and they completed the work within two days of coming out for their estimate.

"I apologize for this issue. I had recently added a project manager to our staff to help ensure that we could get to all of our requests in a timely manner. I have since fired this project manager and have since taken all of the estimate requests upon myself again. I own this company and take the satisfaction of my customers very seriously. I have been in the insulation industry since I was 12 yrs old as my father owned an insulation company as well. I guess the old adage is correct, if you want something done right, do it yourself. I am happy to hear that you got your insulation addressed in a timely manner and again sincerely apologize. It is extremely dis-heartening to know that all the hard work our spray-foam, attic and fiberglass technicians do can be discredited by someone who has not actually performed work on someone's house. We at Century Insulation take a lot of pride in our work and the customers we have benefited. I have made the necessary corrections to ensure that this type of poor service does not happen again. This same project manager did the same thing twice and has since been terminated."

Excellent! First visit to start work included finding squirrels in our attic! They stopped work so electrician could assess damage. Then came back to vacuum attic, then stopped again so electrician could repair damaged wiring. They worked with us and an electrician to get the work done right in a short period of time. We were so impressed with how they stopped what they were initially hired to do to ensure that our project was done right! Even the electrician commented on their professionalism and integrity.

Last Wednesday I called and made an appointment for that Friday. Friday rolls around and they are a no-show. I didn't get a call, email, text, nothing. I decide that, given their Angie's list rating, it's probably an oversight and decide to call them back on Monday. I speak to the rep and they are apologetic and they suggest to come by the very next day. Tuesday comes and goes and they are a no-show AGAIN, with no explanation what so ever. The scheduling of both missed appointments was their idea, only 1-2 days away from the date I spoke to them. I don't understand how a person can forget something so recent TWICE. I will not be calling them a third time.

Century was great! An energy audit from CenterPoint revealed that the insulation in our town house was very inadequate and the attic had lots of air leakage. I had two estimates done. I had originally contacted two additional companies who never returned my calls or emails requesting estimates. Jesse returned my call the same day and came out early the following week. He was more thorough than the other estimator and it was clear that he knows his business. The installers arrived on schedule, were efficient and professional. More insulation was needed than originally thought, but Century stuck to their original estimate with no extra charge to us. Century is on CenterPoint's list of recommended insulation installers so we are looking forward to receiving a $500 rebate from them in several weeks. I expect to see lower heating and cooling bills as a result of their good work, although it was just done last week so I don't have proof of that yet. I am very pleased with Century. If you are in need of improving the heating/cooling efficiency of your home, don't hesitate to give them a call.

They gave me a quote over the phone. when they showed up the workers had no idea what they were supposed to be doing and didn't come prepared. they ended up not being able to perform the job. They left and said they were going to speak with the owner. Nobody called me back so I finally contacted them the next day and asked him where we were at. At that time they gave me a new quote which was double the original quote. I really needed my porch done so I agreed to the price and then we scheduled for another day. They said they would be there early in the morning because it would be an all day project I waited until 10 o'clock in the morning and finally called them they told me that their van wasn't working and that they would have to reschedule for another day. No consideration to call me let me know what was going on costing me additional days off of work to sit here and wait for them when they're never going to show up anyway. At that time I ended up just canceling insane I did not want to do business with them.

I would like to share though that this project was for a 4 season porch that we were not able to view as at the time of the phone estimate as you did not actually even own the home at the time. I had to provide you with a blind estimate based off the information that you provided. When we were able to come out to your project and hope to do the install we were unable to complete the project as it was bid due to the fact that there was no room to crawl under the porch to complete the project as we had assumed. To complete the project, I would have to pull all the carpeting in the room, pull all of the subfloor and then have a carpet installer come in after us to re-stretch the carpet and replace the pad. I was working my best to coordinate the framer to pull the floor, the carpet guy to re-stretch the carpet and my own foam crew to return to the project in the 7 day window that was provided us to complete. As to the price doubling, the original bid was $1,000 as per the original scope of work we were hoping to roll back one corner of the carpet, crawl in from underneath and spray the underside of the floor. The doubling of the price was only to pay the additional trades that would need to be provided to complete the job, which was included in the second bid. I really do apologize to you for not getting what you were expecting, I was committed to taking care of your project. I hope you understand the difficulties that we were up against. I never should have went to this project blind."

They are cheap, but insulation job itself is messy. So my suggestion is to isolate the areas where insulation will be done from the rest of the house, and if you have carpet by something to cower the carpets.

The guys at Century Insulation were great and while we won't be able to tell just how successful the added insulation is until later this winter, I have high hopes. The project went smoothly from start to finish: I got a call back - and then a visit for the estimate! - all within the same day, then the team that showed up to do the work were also on time and completed in just a couple hours. They come across as a little rough and ready, but I was really impressed with their team work, professionalism, how quickly they got it done as well as the clean up afterwards.

Century Insulation did another great job for us. We've used them to insulate three houses now and they've done a great job every time. Our contact, Travis, is always available via cell, the guys show up right on time, get the work done quickly and efficiently, and clean up after themselves once finished. We did have a problem on one house, but Century Insulation stood behind their satisfaction guarantee and went above and beyond to fix the issue. We will hire them again, and I highly recommend Travis and Century Insulation.

I had 2 months of outrageously high heating bills this winter, not to mention ice dams building constantly. I learned the majority of the problem was heat escaping through the roof due to lack of insulation (I live in a very old home). Century advised me of what could be done (adding blown insulation) and fixed some venting issues, and I noticed a quick change in how often my furnace kicked on which meant I was saving money. I do notice it now in the summer as well, house gets cooler faster and stays cooler longer. I'm sure it has already paid itself off in energy savings - I noticed a drastic drop in my heating bill the following month after having the work done. They guys were neat (laid floor coverings even when I said they didn't need to) and vacuumed and cleaned up everything when they left. They were on time, did what they said they were going to do and were polite. Couldn't have asked for anything more. I also had shopped around price wise, and Century Insulation came in significantly lower than the others I talked to. Great service at a great price - highly recommend!
