We were very pleased with A Pane in the Glass. Right from the beginning, Kevin was very professional with the evaluation of our project and very detailed in explaining what they would be doing and the products that they offer. We even kept asking for additional services, such as the front door, and they were very open to discussing it and working it into the project. The crew that performed the project was very nice and friendly. We appreciated the updates during the day and when they would be returning the next day. We also appreciated how nice they were to our 2 yr old lab and 9 month old son. The small little things show that the people who work for the company are great people. Our project did take a little longer than the estimated time, mainly since our house is close to 100 yrs old. They were great at accommodating us into their busy schedule and getting the project finished quickly. We would definitely use them again and have already recommended them to friends and family.
Description of Work: We had a variety of things done at our home. We had our windows replaced with new efficient windows, had our porch windows redone, existing windows wrapped on the outside and had a new front door installed.

We unfortunately broke a window right before a holiday trip. It was a long wait to get several companies to even come look. Kevin from Pane in the Glass came out quickly and provided an estimate and accurate timing for install. Kevin kept in touch throughout the process and even though we had a small issue with the replacement glass, it was fixed quickly without extra cost to us. Really great to work with.

I needed repair on an emergency basis as I am going to be out of town for the next week. I called Pane in the Glass and was immediately scheduled for a home evaluation and estimate. Kevin arrived promptly at the scheduled time and carefully explained what most likely would have to be done and what he estimated the cost would be. The estimate turned out to be not only reasonable but spot on. No extras, no surprises and the full nature of the problem couldn't be known for sure until the siding was removed. Casey and Spencer arrived at the scheduled time two days later and spent two and a half hours resolving the problem. Kevin checked in with them at the start to make sure we are all on the same page. They did the repair, explained in detail all that they did and cleaned up well when they were done. Everyone I dealt with in this company was friendly, respectful and seemed genuinely eager to accommodate the needs of their customers. I definitely recommend them and I would/will hire them again.

A Pane in the Glass did a full replacement of all my original double-hung windows, replaced 2 patio doors, and some custom insulated glass along with siding work on my 1920's house. The crew was extremely professional and always kept the job site clean and neat. They worked hard to stay within my budget and were very reasonably priced. The quality of the materials used and the craftsmanship was outstanding. The project was completed on time and within the original bid! I highly recommend this company as the experience was great.

We had several windows replaced in our older (built 1957) house. The windows were unique sizes, and some were difficult to remove. All work was done quickly, neatly and the end results were exactly what we were looking for. We will be using them again as we have more windows that need replacing, and we are very satisfied with the value and quality of the work.

Hi [Member Name Removed], I am very sorry about this and am not sure what happened. I know Justin was working with you on this and at one point he was having trouble getting numbers back on the Marvin windows. He claims he sent a proposal over but that clearly did not happen so I apologize on his behalf. As far as the repeated calls with no return call, these were not coming to the work phone, if these calls were made to Justin's personal cell and he was not returning your calls I sincerely apologize, we have had a long discussion about his. He is normally right on top of this stuff. It baffles me that this would happened, we depend on getting projects to make a living and for us to get a bad review over a project we did not bid out is horrible. I am beyond frustrated that this happened. I know it is most likely to late but if there is any way I could personally take care of this step by step I would be more than happy to. In an effort to make things right I would bid your project at 50% of our normal cost. Sincerely, Allen D. The sales person and employees were pleasant. Sales person knew immediately I didn't need a new window as some others had suggested. The reason I dinged their score is becasue they dinged my brand new wood door by opening it with the corner of the window panes as they brought them in the house to install. The door needed to be closed to keep the cats in and the cold air out while they worked outside for a half hour. The lack of care resulted in 2 divots in my wood door and white paint transferred from window frame to the mahogany dark wood.

I couldn't have been happier with A Pane in the Glass from the first visit by Justin and throughout the entire construction project. We were looking for replacement windows to replace our original 1950's windows. Living on a very busy road - reduction of noise was so much more important than energy efficiency. Justin was the only sales rep who seemed to understand that. He talked with us for quite awhile to understand what we needed, he then made recommendations, showed us a couple of samples and finished with an itemized estimate. He is the only rep we talked to who understood what we needed. About 6 weeks later our windows were in and construction began. The first day was a crew of 4 or 5 men who were respectful, efficient and very talented in what they did. They covered all the floors with drop cloths and within the first hour they had removed several of the old windows and were already working on inserting new. They were even friendly with our dog Daisy - every single worker talked to her when they came through. She relaxed right away. The next two days were pretty much the same but with only 2 - 3 men. By the end of the 2nd day all the windows had been replaced, on the 3rd day they did most of the finishing and worked on the outside. That 3rd day the weather got pretty bad so they wrapped up but returned within a week to finish up. I love our new windows. We can barely hear the traffic outside now - in the past it could be so loud that you couldn't hear the television. I highly recommend A Pane in the Glass - they were the best company we have worked with in a long time. We did have a couple questions about our windows after the installation - Justin came out that very afternoon to answer our questions. The customer service we received was outstanding!

I had one broken double hung window that I have been trying to get fixed for some time. I emailed A Pane in the Glass Construction early one afternoon and Allen called me back that evening. I explained I only had one window-not much of a job for him. Despite this he said they would come out and take a look. Two days later they showed up right on time as scheduled, got it fixed in less than an hour. I sincerely appreciate their great service and would use them for any larger job in the future or recommend them to others.

From the time we inquired about an estimate for new windows we received excellent customer service. The crew arrived on time on the dates scheduled for installation. They were very professional and easy to have around. This was a big job creating lots of dirt and debris but everything got covered and cleaned up at the time of completion. They also put up with our two small dogs getting in the way occasionally without getting impatient which was much appreciated. The bay window was weatherproofed and 'buttoned' up outside so it can be left alone for the winter until we can reinstall the brick in the spring. The trimming out of a couple windows proved to be a little more tricky but they managed to make it all look great ready for us to paint . Overall this has been a great experience-the new windows look awesome and we are super happy with the result. Thanks to all of the crew that helped make it happen-we would definitely recommend your services to others.

Great service from beginning to end, I had to wait almost 8 weeks to have the job done but that was okay, they told me upfront and I didn't mind waiting. The guys were very clean and professional. They were very careful to not make a mess and clearly took a lot of pride in their workmanship. It was threatening rain most of the day the door was put in and they were concerned that if they applied the final touches to the outside with caulk it would be unsatisfactory. They opted to wait until the next day and come back when the weather was clear to finish the job right. I was impressed with their attention to small details, I will definitely hire them again for my window needs.

The owner was very responsive and easy to deal with. The crew came on the date and time promised. They were very friendly and professional, dealt well with my very large dog. The job was done quickly and they were able to adjust to the "no square corners or level surfaces" in my very old house. Asked for my input in design decisions and then executed wonderfully. Left the job site spotless like they'd never been there. I will recommend them highly to family and friends.

Allen provided an estimate that was just above the others, but got the work done quicker. I chose him due to the timing, and he offered to match the lowest estimate if he didn't finish the work by the projected date. Didn't matter though, because the window pane was delivered and installed on time by friendly and professional staff.

Fantastic! Kevin and his crew arrived on Monday morning, checked in with me. Kevin let me know what their plan was for the day and what he thought they would get done that day. They went to work and did exactly what they said they would do. Before they installed any wrap or trim, I was shown what they were doing and how it would look. They up the job on Tuesday with a little touch up caulking and paint on Wednesday morning. The clean-up each day was impressive ? left the porch spotless! I selected three providers from Angie's List for bids on this project. The bids were all about the same depending on the brand of windows, etc. Allen at A Pane In The Glass was easy to communicate with and everyone associated with the company came through on budget and we now have windows that work and look wonderful.

We started working with A Pane in the Glass in September of 2014. They were quick with service to begin. They came out to take measurements and take a piece of trim work for color matching. They were pretty helpful throughout the preliminary process of making a decision of which windows to purchase. After we signed the contract to have the work done, they left and we didn't hear from them until December. They called the first week of December to schedule installation. We expressed that we would not move our very large Christmas tree in order to install the large front window, so the installation of that window was scheduled for a later date. We were told that all windows except the large one would be installed completely within a three week time frame in order to be done for Christmas. The week before Christmas we were told it may not be able to get done and it took many phone calls and emails in order to get the work scheduled for that week. It was a frustrating process to get it all done. It was done, but from start to almost finish was a three week process, when we were told it would take about 3 days When the first round of installation was done, we had one window with a broken sash and the door handle was the wrong color. We were told they would re-order them and replace them with the correct ones when they came in January to put in the large window. When the scheduled date came around to install the large front window, they came as scheduled. The crew had not checked the materials before beginning work and after tearing the siding off the front of the house, they realized the large (most expensive) window was damaged due to very cold temperatures that day. They then had to replace the siding before leaving, all the work that was done that day was the replacement of a door handle and the replacement of the broken sash, and the crew was at our house all day. Upon inspection of the replaced window sash, the grid-lines in between the panes were crooked and the sash still needs to be replaced by the installer ( 4 months after replacing the original broken sash). After the window installation failed in January we scheduled a date in February. When that day rolled around, we waited for the installers to come to the house. 2 hours after their expected arrival they called to inform us they would not be coming due to cold temperatures again that day. We then had to look ahead to March in order to get the installation completed. The third installation date was finally the day the window got installed. It took the crew an entire day to replace the window and complete the trim work. When I inspected the work when I got home, I noticed some large flaws and mismatched trim work. Upon asking, I was told there was damage to the drywall and instead of leaving it for me to repair, they just covered it with the trim piece from the old window. The corner trim pieces on the two round windows do not match, and they are right next to each other. We have still not paid our final balance and will not pay the balance until the replacement window sash with crooked lines is replaced. Overall, we were not happy with the timelines this company required to complete what they said would be a fairly quick job. Our window project is still not complete and it has been 8 months since we started working with them.
Description of Work: A Pane in the Glass installed windows throughout our entire house. We had a total of 15 windows replaced and a patio door. Most of the windows were a custom size with grid lines in-between the panes.

Working with Allen and his crew was easy. I had one bump in the road when I noticed a nick in the Vinyl framing around the window. I'm sure it was done at the factory. The installer missed it when he put the window in and I don't blame him it was very small. I called Allen to ask what could be done and he replaced the window with no hesitation. We have four more windows to do and I'll be calling Allen back again.

From start to finish, was a great experience. Got a few bids, A Pane in the Glass was the most professional and didn't try to upsell or get me windows I didn't need. Once I gave the go-ahead and put half down, the windows were ordered. Windows took a little longer than normal to deliver as the order was placed about week before the holidays when the factory is pretty much shut down. When they came in (on a Friday), got a call they could come out Monday morning. Worked great for my schedule. The crew was meticulous with the work. They placed cloth on the floors and covered the furniture with plastic to keep the house clean. They vacuumed and cleaned as they went from window to window. The workmanship and quality was outstanding. I will certainly use A Pane in the Glass when I'm ready to replace the remaining windows in the house.

They took out the old windows and screens, replaced them all, caulked and sealed/wrapped them, and cleaned up everything! They were very careful with all areas of our house, worked hard and kept us informed of things along the way, and overall, did a great job! Even though the windows took longer than expected to be delivered and installed (likely due to Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays), the overall experience was great!
Description of Work: They replaced 16 windows in our house, one of which was a large picture window in our living room. Other window companies/contractors gave us very, very high bids for a lesser amount of windows to be replaced.
